i get sooo unreasonably mad when the story protagonist goes out of their way to befriend a monster and the monster turns back to normal "due to being tamed" or whatever. that's so fucking shallow, dude. monsters should be loved while still being a monster. they shouldn't need to turn into a pretty, conventionally attractive, socially acceptable human form for you to love them. it's even more shallow when you make a real life comparison, like with a physical or mental disorder. it's like the equivalent of "I'll care for you despite all that, but I won't be truly happy until you're normal and convenient for me to handle." asshole move tbh
