Alright, the people have spoken! If demand is high enough I may pop finished pages as they're done on my Ko-Fi but we'll see! I've got about four moons of the current gameplay year to finish so I'll get those finished and queued up as I can!

MOON 8 - Nothing interesting happened this moon. Maggotbelly is surprised to learn Shadowleap's life wasn't as easy as she thought it was. Small edit: That "nyar" is meant to be just "nya"!

Sorry for the super long delay on this! I have not had the drive to work for a good few months but I'm hoping to get a bit more consistent!

this is quite ahead in game but maggotbelly and shadowleap's parents both passed a few years into gameplay and I thought it would be a cute thing to doodle eelface reunited with littlekit and mottledusk as a warmup for artfight refs!

wow sorry this one took forever but here you go! I've been using sai for this page and i think it looks a lot cleaner lol MOON 7 - GREENLEAF SparkClan has declared war on MumbleClan.

Icefur killed two SparkClan kits while on patrol

Echostep and Icefur had a huge fight, and the two have broken up 

Willowkit is named Willowpaw, and apprenticed late under Shadowleap. (I think the game glitched but we’re going to say Snapstar forgot how old Willowkit was)

I feel the need to point out the importance of the mwrrs pronoun being used for Icefur here, Echostep is VERY angry with her

On a lighter note however, I came up with a term for ceremonies, it’s literally just “[new rank]-rank-leap” lol

Clanmew Translation below!

Echostep: "Calm down!? Icefur, you slaughtered two SparkClan kits!! Do you have any idea what you've done!?" / "Calmness!? Icefur, two Spark-Clan kits you slaughtered!! Question you-rouge-know what you did!?"

Personally I go for different muzzle/body shapes, I base the markings loosely around how they look on the sprite, simplify them and take creative liberties as needed! I also try to make mine a bit more realistic (like irl feasible genetically haha), and as I get the character's personalities through playing/taking notes, the shapes/details start to come out the more i draw them! (Like Maggotbelly's eyelashes starting to resemble running eyeliner, the band on Willowkit's nose rounding out like a little bandaid, etc etc) it helps to draw them out a few times, a couple different ways, then you'll start to get a feel for them!

not really a confession but more of a question:

for all those wc clangen bloggers out there, how do you come up with unique designs for each of your generated cats?

every design I've seen is so cool and I really wanna start up my own clangen blog, but I'm not very good at art and I'm worried that my kitties will look too similar to someone else's. and I dunno, I want my kitties to look cool but I don't know how to make them look cool and unique :(

Don't worry about the art, Hootwhisker is alive still, even at the point I'm in in the game haha

So here's some lore with Hootwhisker, and his son, Stagrunner!

Hootwhisker , was primarily very distant from his son, Stagstrike, up until he had begun his training. As an apprentice, Stagpaw was confident in his abilities, with Shrikepaw helping to boost that confidence when they would train together. However, after witnessing the death of his mentor, Brightbeetle, due to a misunderstanding with a DuskClan patrol, it compeletely shattered his confidence, and harshly affected his training. While all the cats around him graduated to warriors, he was left behind, even with Eelstar himself pushing him to train.

Eventually, Hootwhisker went to Eelstar, telling him that, during a patrol with just him and Stagpaw, his son had protected him fiercely from a fox, and that be believed Stagpaw was well-enough ready for his warrior name, suggesting Eelstar should highlight his fighting spirit.

And so, he did, Stagpaw graduating 4 moons late with the name Gruagkachkubo, Stag that has Struck.

A half-moon later, he'd been startled awake by Shrikewing stirring in the nest next too him, and leaving the den with Hootwhisker. Shrikewing had offered him a part in taking Eelstar out of his position, promising to make him deputy, but Stagstrike had refused, not wanting to risk his new position as a warrior. He had assumed that the tom had given up on his plan, and so, out of curiosity, decided to follow the other cats to see what they were up to.

He'd lost track of them after a while, but eventually caught up to Moonhaze and Eelstar, only able to question what was happening for a moment before Shrikewing and Hootwhisker pounced. He stood frozen in place, in horror, as it happened, too far to hear what anyone was saying, but close enough for Eelstar to notice him. As soon as the leader made eye contact with him, Stagstrike turned tail back to camp.

Once Eelstar had returned, and once he was done laying it into Snapwing, Maggotbelly, Hootwhisker and Shadowleap, he was just as quick to turn to Stagstrike, asking him if he thought he would get away with his own deeds. He was deemed as deserving of a name change, to Gruagpanpea, Stag that will Run, as a permanent mark of his cowardice, and exiled alongside his father.

SURPRISE ADDITION i've been sick with the flu for the past week and haven't been able to go to class so I've been drawing and listening to a lot of music while I've been sick, and I've decided I'll give little tidbits about the cat's relationships and backstories as I do! So here's Snapstar and Maggotbelly, the leader and Medicine cat of MumbleClan!

Previously, they were named Shrikewing and Moonhaze before their exile. (taking inspo from @/bonefall's rewrite and using the concept of honor/dishonor titles!) In clanmew, those names are Whrrekekbeof - Red-backed Shrike's Feathered Wing (with Whrrekek being a word i made for a red-backed shrike!) and Shomsheffse - Hazy Moon

Shrikewing was ambitious from the moment he was apprenticed under Hootwhisker. The two bounced off each other incredibly well, for better, or for worse. Once Shrikewing had graduated into a warrior, he had immediately been given an apprentice, Poppypaw, as the clan was short on warriors, but bursting with apprentices at the turn of the season. His name came not only from his pelt resembling the wings of a red-backed shrike, but his cutthroat personality as well. He fiercely defended the borders, upheld the warrior code as if his life depended on it, and Eelstar took note.

Upon the death of the previous deputy, young Shrikewing was Eelstar's first choice to replace her.

But his ambition had quickly whipped into a desire for power, and, believing the leader was on his last life, began to come up with a plan to become the youngest leader in the cove.

Moonhaze, on the other hand, had been deeply shy and insecure for her whole life. Her appearance as a kit resulted in Eelstar's scorn, believing that his mate had been unfaithful, and, once she had opened her eyes, Mottledusk's horror, believing her to be a curse from StarClan. The queen had quickly returned to her warrior duties as soon as her kits were weaned, leaving the other queens to care for Moonkit, but happily tending to her other kit, Sunkit, as needed.

Moonkit's condition causing her sensitivity to light, both visually and physically, made it hard for her to play with the other kits, and she ended up spending much more time in the medicine den, being treated for horrible headaches and severe sunburns.

Her time in the medicine den lead her to earn a love for Cherryleg's work, and she soon asked to be apprenticed under her, and ended up graduating early.

As she grew, she found it clear that her clanmates held the same disdain for her, but none of it for her sibling, Sunsong, who had the attention of just about every tom and queen in the clan.

Shrikewing had easily picked up on this, and made an effort to spend time with her. As soon as he'd heard about her own contempt for her father, told her about his plan to get rid of him so that he could be leader, promising her she'd be shown the respect that she so deserved.

The next moon, Moonhaze lead her father out of camp, insisting they visit the Starpools ( a bundle of tide pools the shoreline clans use to speak to StarClan ) due to a dream she had, only for Shrikewing and Hootwhisker to ambush the leader partway there. Moonhaze told him everything she had wanted to say to him, all the vitriol and curses she'd hoped would strike him down. Shrikewing happily told Eelstar that he'd take care of the clan, and his daughter, in his absence, before landing the killing blow.

Though, much to their surprise later that night, that had not been Eelstar's last life.

Upon their exile, Moonhaze was given the dishonor title of Maggotbelly, Eelstar comparing her to a rotten piece of prey, flipped over to reveal it's full of nothing but bones and maggots. He'd followed it up by telling her that would have been her name all along, had Mottledusk not already named her Moonkit.

Meanwhile, Shadowleap secretly has a litter of half-clan kits.

Please welcome Gullkit (brown kitten) and Pearlkit (orange kitten)! Now, genetically speaking, Shadowleap having an orange kitten is weird, but to explain things away, in my head, they're actually a tortie! Shadowleap has one orange toe on their back left paw!
