Epic Nicky Pals (1985) (Nintenswap AU)

"Epic Nicky Pals" is a video game released for the Friendship Computer and Sega Mastery System in 1985. Shifting from the gameplay away from the single-screen arcade predecessor, instead featuring side-scrolling platform levels. This game would be the introduction of Princess Rose and Count Nikula. The story follows Flower Kingdom having been invaded by the Bug Batch, whose leader is capable of powerful magic. using these abilities, he turned all of the Flower People into stones, monitors, aswell as springs. Only Princess Rose is able to undo the spell, but however she has been kidnaped by Count Nikula. Nicky hears of the princess' , and sets on an adventure with his buddy Miles through 32 Zones to plunge the Bug Batch and restore peace from the once-serene kingdom. Epic Nicky Pals is one of the most iconic, presenting various of the series' staples such as Power-Ups, Lotsobugs, and the basic premise of saving Princess Rose from Count Nikula's claws (or fangs… in this case.). Notable Power-Ups that were introduced in this game (and went on to be on the following ones) were: Super Shield, Incibility Sparkle and the Speed Kicks. Besides leading to a series of Nicky Pals platform games, The surprising popularity of Super Nicky Pals helped in success of the platformer genre, along with saving the South American (Poor Brazil, in this world!) video game industry after the video game crash during 1983.

P: * Kercer…. P: * Boy…. P: * My bouncy little pumpkin…. P: * R-Remember what….I told you…. P: * You have Admin Permissions…Access the settings….. P: * ….And DESTROY….SYSTEM 32….!

K: * …..

P: * …Or should I….Through methods of pressure…. P: * Force the Lightners to conjure a MORTEM Barrier…?

K: * I'm sorry Dad…. K: * I…I can't do that. K: * You treat me as if I'm just a tool! K: * And my friends taught me that I can be MORE than that! K: * So don't mess with them! Just let them go free for once!!!

[Suddenly, Googolplex goes off signal and stops moving. The metal bars then go out.]

D: * H…Huh…? D: * Did he get deactivated..?

A: * Oh? A: * Uuum….I think so…?

D: * Thinking about what he said… D: * Isn't it just wonderful in here, Azzy…? D: * I mean, not just because we don't have to get heated over school.

A: * Yeah, I understand. A: * And we also make lots of new friends here.

[Prouxsorr then comes into scene.]

P: * …R-Really? P: * Thou believeth so as truth?!

A: * Erm… Of course, Why wouldn't I?

K: * You know guys… K: * I don't know much about that "Barrier" thing, But maybe you could try forming it?

D: * Huh, Good point…. D: * We're all set on that, right?

[Dess then pulls out her guitar, and raises it up to the air. Her weapon begins glowing.]

D: * So then… D: * Fueling my weapon with my AMBITIONS… D: * I will conjure a new Barrier…!

WOAH! MORE DOLLS!

Meet Brekka, a washed up actor looking for a way to feel whole after finding herself at the bottom of the world's pool...what?

There's a lot to her story, so this is gonna be a bit long.....

She was once the #1 actress in STAR WORLD, with the miraculous ability to swap between hundreds of characters with just a wardrobe change. While fans adored her for her wide range and versatility on screen, something that gnawed on the back of Brekka's mind is she didn't really know who she was outside of her career.

One day she decided to be a bit more bold and improvise during one of her live performances. Unfortunately, that show swiftly bombed and caused a massive financial hit to the studio. Tenna, enraged, fired Brekka so she'd take all the criticism and he removed all mention of her acting legacy with aid of the Walnut Gallery. Brekka was left destitute, finding scraps in the dumps of the flavor factory for food. Even after all this time, that hollow feeling never left.

That was...until she met a mysterious person who whispering a secret to to be fulfilled in her role...

She started kidnapping darkners, believing the man's words that if she can find that SPECIAL someone, she can feel whole. She can find who she really is...

Eventually when Kris opens the dark fountain, she sees in their eyes the key to her all her worries, her struggles, her longing for another friend, companion, partner...

Brekka becomes obsessed with Kris, wanting to become their one and ONLY friend, to guide them through this cruel world, and persevere through all the hardships of their caged reality. She finds Kris alone in the dumps and offers to help their "eternal mission" as their "bestest friend in all worlds". She also subtlety takes jabs at all of Kris's other friends for not "understanding them like SHE can", that "We're both lower than everyone else, but together, we can reach the to the stars and make our own little world".

Weird talk aside, you decide to follow her plan. This leads to Kris going to an abandoned studio so far underground, reality gets really weird, as if you're dancing above the void.

After walking through many distorted recreations of Kris's past, moving pieces around to match Kris's "ideal world", Brekka arrives and reveals her plan.

She reveals she can rebuild the world above them from down here to match their "perfect dreams", but at the cost of erasing the world...and all who reside in it. Kris tries to object, but Brekka is really pushy about making a world "Only for US! not for those useless souls that left US to drown in the dark!"

Kris is being pushed closer and closer to the ledge when Susie and Ralsei arrive and catch Kris before them fall. Brekka charges forward in a blind rage, but plummets down into the void.

Before the Fun Gang can celebrate, the floor breaks and everyone crashes into a beachside set. Brekka emerges from the water wearing a long, flowy dress with amalgamated faces of her; Her hair is frazzled out to make 2 distinct devil horns. A devilish maiden with a dress of the damned, her damnation.

Brekka decides "those FAKERS" and trying to drag Kris "back into the dark" and attacks them to "save" Kris.

After the fight, Ralsei tries to convince Brekka that "with friends, you don't have to feel alone", but Brekka refuses this peace offering and unleashes a massive torrent on the Fun Gang.

In pacifist, this act is a way to help the Fun Gang escape the studio. In no mercy, this is one final attempt to destroy the Fun Gang.

Either way, she disappears with the studio and leaves an item and the shadow crystal behind in the water the Fun Gang wash out of.

The implications is that she couldn't fit into the world so she chose to.....leave it. Seems pretty morbid enough for a secret boss.

Her soul color is purple (perseverance)

References Muffet in behavior, minus the greed for money

Her sin is lust, but friendship and fulfillment-themed instead of anything creepy

She'd act like a really toxic and manipulative friend to Kris, and ice cold to everyone else

Uninterested in Tenna's and Mike's little feud

Only person she ever talked to was a shopkeeper living in the dumps, Petoil, but eventually she couldn't squeeze any use out of him and ignored him too

Hilde Becker: A tough girl with a jocky attitude. She constantly threatens those around her, practicting teasing while in class, As a way to cope with the fact very few are fond of her. She believes that her actions do not matter, Not one bit, In turn causing her to have this carefreeness.

Casey: A quiet yet creepy person. They are not much of words, but usually loves doing pranks with other students, specially with Franny. They constantly wield a knife on their pocket, but whether it's a toy one or a real deal is still unknown…..

Valentino Amorim: A flamboyant student with love always in his mind. Always getting A+ grades in class, He looks to impress someone (I wonder who…). Ironically, despite having Valentine's Day as his favorite holiday, his family is actually pretty disrupted.

Franny: A kindly and jolly-go-lucky girl. She helps out Valentino getting high grades, with her ones always being "S". Although she hides it for most of the time, she has a certain little crush for Hilde….

Neshal: A silly little boy who wanders round and around. His mission is to throughoutly follow The Folklore, although most of the time he doesn't know how to describe it in words much correctly to Hilde and Casey, But even then really enjoys having fun with them. He appears to have certain attachment to Hilde, almost like a younger brother…..

Rubble: Kindly and curious, He is a prodigy sorcerer who is still learning a bit of witchcraft. He can be very detached from socialization, not knowing much of interests and hobbies himself. Eventually through his adventures with Casey, he ends up forming a relationship with them.

Razael: An exemplary prodigy, Always willing to be assist other people and his friends. He really enjoys reading books, And wants to explore more of his identity to know what being an "Razael" is. His loneliness leads to him getting weird looks from other people. Lancer: The playful son of Mr. and Mrs. Sphaad, Always ready to mess with people minding their business. He loves reading superhero comics and playing fetch, Being babysitted by Razael. Not many people on the town really like him, which is why he later starts becoming friends with Razael. Squeezo: A squire from the world of Yo-Kais, Appears to have a silent personality. Deep inside they seem to have a tricky side, Although not much usually seen until they get more attached to Razael. They curiously resemble one of Razael's childhood friends....

You don't see much students that aren't obedient to Principal's rules here. .

Counsel (Pronounced Kowsel!) is the school counselor of Principal's school. Albeit partly nihilistic, they still are open to help out students with just about anything they need. Although... After a student told them something he heard from a strange, their views on this world drastically became more careless.

(A wacky AU concept where Kris "becomes" a secret boss. By making a deal with the devil and receiving the truth of the world, along with a crystal, Kris for once has peace believing very few really would miss them. Their idea of freedom here is that, while they can never be free of your control, they can atleast best you, knowing more than you might think they do.)

JAMMON: A pesky demon whom is freed from the shackles of the King, living in his own hellish dungeon filled with pentagrams. He copes with his little freedom by pestering other individuals through vile and mortal games purely for his amusement. His plays even appear to almost be a competition, at "Who can sin the most". Beware, for when you play with this DEVIL, consequences will come without warning.

NERDALE: An angry geek game reviewer who constantly rambles about "PIPPYS DVD" Being the least-selling, worst installment in the Pippys franchise. He is always hot-headed and stressed, Due to very few really choosing to accept his offers on showing these video game reviews. But who is to blame? Nerds themselves, are very very incomprehensible.

(Although today is April Fools, I have decided that instead of tricking someone, That i'd make this little thing as something purely for fun; a re-swap of Chapterzwap.)
