New this year at #MuseCon: Sunday Morning Meetups Muse is a great place to learn new things and to make new things. It is also a social occassion, and a great place to meet people and make new friends. To further nurture the comraderie MuseCon is introducing the Sunday Morning Meetups. The classrooms will be taken over for informal, social gatherings for people with a shared interest in various topics. This is a chance to talk without disrupting a class or being pressed for time because you need to rush to the next session. Connect with experienced experts, enthusiastic newbies, and people just like you who want to learn and do more. Check the #MuseCon7 schedule for topic/room selections.

Our #MuseCon7 Emporium will run Saturday from 10:30 am until 7 pm in Leighton. We’ll have treasures to use in your creations as well as the fruits of others’ inspirations. Our Emporium Vendors are: WoolWeed - Felted sculptures, needle felting kits, wool spinning kits, roving, spindles, and fiber arts related items. Stormsister Designs - DIY beading supplies: beads, cabochons, findings, and stringing material. Canticles Productions - Music, media, and literature. Fused Glass by Kathie - Fused Glass wall art, sculptures and jewelry. Otter Necessities - Lace knitting patterns , alpaca yarn, knitting needles. Leatherworking kits, hand-bound books, and doll clothes. Jackdaw Creations - Beaded jewelry and fancies, fiber, yarn, beads, and craft supplies (located next door in the Salon)

Heads-Up: Travel Notes The work on the tollway has made getting to the #MuseCon hotel a bit more difficult. If you are coming south on 53, you can get off at the Thiorndale RD exit but remember the mantra KEEP LEFT. If you get into a right lane you will have a hard time moving left. Rather than the Thorndale Exit, our Hotel Liaison recommends using Biesterfield. Use the left of the 2 right turn lanes and turn south on 53 at the first light, then turn left at the 2nd light at Devon Ave and turn right at Park boulevard. Coming north on 53, be in the right exit lane. The left lane puts you on 390. Once you take the right lane away from 390, THEN KEEP LEFT. Our Hotel Liaison prefers using surface streets 53, 83 or Arlington Heights to get to Devon. Take Devon to Park.

#MuseCon7 Cool Session of the Moment - Choose Your Own Improv Workshop After beginning with a few basic improv warm-ups and exercises workshop participants will vote for what they would like to focus on for the rest of the workshop from an array of skill-teaching games. Note: participants will be interacting and moving around throughout the workshop, so please wear comfortable clothing and come prepared to play, have fun, and say "yes and"!
