I really want to get back to writing bc it's been over a year since I posted anything and it's not for lack of trying. I just keep running out of steam. I think because I'm not sharing WIPs with anyone, so I'm just working in a vacuum and I keep convincing myself that the WIPs suck. So my solution is that I'm going to be launching a patreon soon-ish where I can share stuff chapter by chapter and hear from people as I work. I'll have a subscriber discord server as well. I don't expect many people to actually go for it but even a couple would make it easier for me to keep my motivation up I think :] so that's what's happening with me thanks for reading ✌️

I got my PhD today :] kinda wild. My committee was so kind to me - I included some creative writing in my dissertation, and they were so supportive. Insane to think I found a way to make it part of my career!!

I'm trying to get better at telling people my good news, so here's my little announcement for today: I won a major award for my research :) if you've followed me for a while and didn't know, I'm a graduate student! I'll be earning my doctorate in just a few months. It's a pretty big deal and I'm having trouble believing it to be honest - I think I'm sadly used to not being recognized due to the nature of my work (DEI-related). It's nice to get recognized even with the everything 👍 anyway that's what's going on with me!
