NEW MUSIC: Gorgon City - Here for You ft Laura Welsh
We love a bit of Black Butter Records over at Music and Sounds. When they send out a new track it is always worth exploring.  This is no exception.  Gorgon City fresh from their national hit bring this lovely piece of UK soulful/garage.  I personally prefer the dub version as it hits hard and is great for the dance floor and the car on a sunny day!
Go check it on Soundcloud.

NEW MUSIC: Karol Conka Brazil Traps me!
Tumblr media
I am picky when it comes to Hip Hop very picky. If you were around in the days of its innovation then I believe you have a right to be as opinionated as you please. These days the word "trap" has connotations of some young kid banging on his macbook and coming up with what he and his mates call music.  So when I got my hands on this I was pleasantly surprised.  This is how "Trap" should be used.
Karol Conka - a bit more information from the label.
One of Brazils hottest new artists combining hip hop with trap (ouch!) and traditional Brazilian grooves she is already being featured on Gilles Peterson Brownswood basement sessions and working with Madlib, Nasa & Basement Jaxx. One of the few female artists breaking from the Brazilian underground scene she raps and sings in Portuguese.  she has won a 2013 Multishow Best New Artist Award and was nominated for a Brazil MTV award (Boa Noite).
So check it out here and lets get into something different.  Because this is what Music and Sounds are all about.....

Wu-Tang To Release Just One Copy Of Its Secret Album
This is doing the rounds on the social media at the moment and why not?  I personally think its a great idea of how to make something news worthy and create the ultimate "most wanted" item of Hip Hop memorabilia. I know a few DJ's and collectors that would try and get this.  To round it all off this article is from Forbes Magazine - clever indeed!  Lets see if it gets leaked online in digital format at any time....
Below is lifted from Forbes.
Full article here: http://www.forbes.com/sites/zackomalleygreenburg/2014/03/26/why-wu-tang-will-release-just-one-copy-of-its-secret-album/
Somewhere on the outskirts of Marrakech, Morocco, inside a vault housed beneath the shadow of the Atlas Mountains, there sits an engraved silver-and-nickel box with the potential to spawn a shift in the way music is consumed and monetized.
The lustrous container was handcrafted over the course of three months by British-Moroccan artist Yahya, whose works have been commissioned by royal families and business leaders around the world. Soon, it will contain a different sort of art piece: the Wu-Tang Clan’s double-album The Wu – Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, recorded in secret over the past few years.
Like the work of a master Impressionist, it will truly be one-of-a-kind—in lieu of a traditional major label or independent launch, the iconic hip-hop collective will make and sell just one copy of the album. And similar to a Monet or a Degas, the price tag will be a multimillion-dollar figure.
“We’re about to sell an album like nobody else sold it before,” says Robert “RZA” Diggs, the first Wu-Tang member to speak on record about Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, in an exclusive interview with FORBES. “We’re about to put out a piece of art like nobody else has done in the history of [modern] music.  We’re making a single-sale collector’s item. This is like somebody having the scepter of an Egyptian king.”
