At one point somebody suggested that Silco held his breath the whole time during this scene and I kinda like and dislike that idea. I don’t think it’s realistic that Silco gives a whole monologue on one breath but I still like that thought cos it’s a neat trick if that’s how he did it but it also implies that he can freedive. Which makes perfect sense for a guy who’s all about healing and becoming stronger after experiencing trauma and for him the trauma is an attempted drowning. Of course he learned how to hold his breath underwater for a long time.
Similarly, the story never reveals that outright, but how did Jinx retrieve the Valdiani? From where she dropped it in the river it seems quite deep. And it’s quite an important beat cos it parallels Vi retrieving the bunny (and therefore overcoming her childhood weakness) and presenting it to her sister, so Jinx retrieving the Valdiani is also a sign of growing and becoming stronger. And she’d need to dive all the way down there in order to get it.
So basically Silco and Jinx are freedivers hc accepted.

Are you guys ready for another Connol post? No?
So anyway, I think I found Connol’s 3D model in-show.
See this shot at the scene where Sevika was confronting Vander? (credit to @/arcane-aesthetics for the high-quality photo)

THIS GUY. I'M NOT CRAZY WAIT. Here's a comparison to the only other shots we have of Connol:

(screenshots of the Young Silco on Bridge sequence from lara / silqco on twt)
Same Face. Square face shape, thick brows, small mouth, thick nose.
Same Hat. There's like a belt thing with three metal pieces going on with the newsboy cap.
Blue Turtleneck. Also sleeveless.
Red Overalls Thing.
Left Strap. Seems to be the red overalls' strap.
Utility Belt. Pouch with gold lining, also two more pouches at the back.
Pouch.
Glove over Arm Warmers. The image on the far right doesn't seem to have warmers though.
Remember when I made the Connol Post - Part 4 and I compared little Vi and Powder's design to him?

Oh yeah it's official now * rubs my hands evilly like a fly *
While it might be Connol's actual model, it’s strictly not him. Meaning he was intended to be Connol for the bridge shot (him lying under Felicia's corpse) and as reference model for the Remember Me sequence, but he was a character model that the animators could reuse as background character too (seeing as Connol wasn't much important to the plot enough for the audience to notice.)
And we know it's him-but-also-not-him because that screenshot took place when Sevika was confronting Vander about fighting back against the Enforcers flooding the undercity after the kids' heist at Piltover, a time when he's supposedly long dead. I mean, it's a waste of model to use him only for one shot, I see the reasoning.
ngl I'm so giddy at the fact that I got close to the actual model when I created that model sheet for him.

THE SIDE BUTTONS, UTILITY BELT, NEWSBOY CAP, AND FRONTVIEW FACE I GOT IT DOWN LETSGOOO. And I only had watercolor Connol and dead Connol as reference then.
Too bad we don't have a full body shot of this 3D model so I can see the lower half too, but I'm so happy with what we got<3

I get the timeline in arcane is REALLY, really fucky and a decent amount of it was retconned but like. Ok. In the scene on the bridge, Vi is said to be like… 10-11. And in the arc with Mylo and Claggor, shes said to be 15-16. Which means it’s only been like 4 years since Vander beat the absolute hell out of Silco and fucked him up for life.
And what REALLY fucks me up about this is that Vander, Silco, and Felicia were all really close friends! Vi probably saw a LOT of them! She probably remembers a time where those two were still on good terms with each other. And that just adds to the horror she experiences when Vander’s kidnapped. Silco’s wounds- physical and emotional- are supposedly still very fresh, and he’s actively destroying a family he was once part of

Inside it Scylla sits and yelps with a voice that you might take to be that of a young hound, but in truth she is a dreadful monster and no one—not even a god—could face her without being terror-struck.

So, let me guess– you just started a new book, right? And you’re stumped. You have no idea how much an AK47 goes for nowadays. I get ya, cousin. Tough world we live in. A writer’s gotta know, but them NSA hounds are after ya 24/7. I know, cousin, I know. If there was only a way to find out all of this rather edgy information without getting yourself in trouble…
You’re in luck, cousin. I have just the thing for ya.
It’s called Havocscope. It’s got information and prices for all sorts of edgy information. Ever wondered how much cocaine costs by the gram, or how much a kidney sells for, or (worst of all) how much it costs to hire an assassin?
I got your back, cousin. Just head over to Havocscope.
((PS: In case you’re wondering, Havocscope is a database full of information regarding the criminal underworld. The information you will find there has been taken from newspapers and police reports. It’s perfectly legal, no need to worry about the NSA hounds, cousin ;p))

There’s something weirdly cathartic about being able to write Argost as the uncaring, manipulative serial killer that Jay could have never portrayed him as under Cartoon Network.
