THINGS THAT HAPPENED:

Jensen Ross Ackles made the acting choice to pick up Castiel's trench coat and fold it gently like a flag because he believed that's what Dean would've done.

Jensen Ross Ackles was so pissed about the Destiel conflict and Dean treating Cas so harshly in the so-called divorce arc that he confronted the writer (Bobo) about it. He asked for explanation and toning the conflict down.

Jensen Ross Ackles, when asked about what he was most excited to tackle with his character in the final season of the show, took a time to think about his answer and then WITH ZERO HESITATION said: CAS.

Jensen Ross Ackles called Castiel's goodbye (aka the confession) a pivotal moment for the whole arc of the show.

Jensen Ross Ackles asked a crew member to record the confession ON HIS PHONE because he wanted to have the og, unedited version of the confession.

Obviously at one point in time all their faces were being plastered across the galaxy for assorted bounties, but I like to think that as time goes on post-RotJ, Leia goes and becomes the extremely recognizable President of the New Republic, Luke becomes the still fairly-recognizable Grand Master of the Jedi Order (even if it’s mostly because of the robes/lightsaber), and Han becomes the galactic equivalent of Tony Hawk, who is still extremely famous but absolutely no one realizes it because his Just Some Guy energy is off the charts.

castiel stays out of dean's head but sometimes words are hard to ignore and sometimes dean prays without meaning to, and castiel hears him say his name without moving his mouth and sometimes it's not his name, sometimes when castiel does something for dean, something small and kind, dean will think sweetheart and castiel's heart will clench but dean never says it out loud and why would he? and castiel has to pretend like he didn't hear, because really, he shouldn't even know about it, but he wonders what it would sound like spoken out loud. if it would sound the way castiel does, spoken in dean's voice.

To all the parents out there who bundle their babies up in the winter time with those little hats with the little ears that make them look like little teddy bears: You are doing the lord’s work. Seeing tiny ewoks toddle across the grocery store parking lot is just what we all need sometimes. My joy is immeasurable and my day is restored.

Still funny that spn s4 framed the difference between Sam and Dean as:

This is Sam Winchester, Boy King of Hell(tm), true vessel of Lucifer, who is fated to go dark side and fight on the side of hell, and he has a demon, Ruby, that he has a strangely romantic and sexual relationship with

Meanwhile, this is Dean Winchester, the Righteous Man(tm), true vessel of Michael, who is fated to fight on the side of heaven, and he has an angel, Castiel, that he has a [REDACTED]

so remember when ed comes back from his whole "i'm gonna be a fisherman" adventure, sees blown up ships and thinks about stede? and then he strangles an english guy? JUST LIKE HE STRANGLED HIS FATHER? WHEN HE BECAME THE KRAKEN?

when he recalls pop-pop saying "if you were ever good at anything, go and do that", ed remembers that ORIGINALLY when he became the kraken, he did that in order to protect his mother. HE IS GOOD AT PROTECTING THE PEOPLE HE LOVES. this is what makes him realise that the kraken has not always been horrible. this is when he makes peace with this part of himself. so he becomes the kraken again TO PROTECT STEDE.

i just need to talk some more about one of my favorite sequences of events in the entire season.

stede says he'll be right back and runs off into the woods, directly paralleling him leaving ed alone at the dock in s1e9.

buttons says "to love the sea as she must be loved requires change."

ed says "people don't change, buttons. not into birds or otherwise."

buttons seemingly successfully transforms into a bird and flies off.

within seconds, stede returns, tells ed he couldn't find his way back to the ship, and asks ed to come with him, in direct contrast to s1e9.

it's such a simple sequence, but such a perfect one. people do change. both into birds and otherwise.

Do you guys ever think about how canonically the vessels that angels occupy aren’t supposed to age (s12e10 when Cas is impressed his buddies kept their same vessels for well over a century. Also apparently Cas tells Jimmy when he first was requesting permission to inhabit his body, that Jimmy would not age while he was doing so.)

…but Castiel definitely ages. Obviously I get that this is simply because Misha himself is aging, but *my* in-universe headcanon is that he’s choosing it, (whether consciously or unconsciously) because he wants to grow old with Dean.
