This was one of the first comic ideas I've had for this fandom. It's been haunting my mind since like September. Anyway.

Comparing the older Doofenshmirtz design from 'Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo' to the design from 'Act Your Age' is the perfect illustration of how fond Dwampy and the rest of the PnF creative team clearly grew towards his character over the course of the series. Yes, I know these two episodes take place ten years apart, but it's still extremely telling how much more generous (for lack of a better word) they were when designing an aged-up Doof for 'Act Your Age' versus when they did it two seasons and half a decade earlier.

one of my top ten perry/doof moments is definitely when perry fixes his hair in the mirror of the elevator before arriving at heinz's penthouse and gets into a cool collected pose but heinz is on the silliest mode that day and goes all SURPRISE PERRY THE PLATYPUS!! HEHEHEHE and sends him to the other floor and doesn't stop manically laughing until perry pranks him too by sending him to every floor like is not only top tier comedy but also so cute because most times perry allows himself to be that goofy and childish are when he's with heinz and they're just so unapologetically themselves with each other u get why they can't function without the other

Phineas and Ferb - Season Three - “Road to Danville”

Doofenshmirtz is kind of proof that you can, in fact, make one of the funniest characters out there by throwing shit at the wall.

He’s a supervillain, he’s amicably divorced, he was raised by ocelots, his evil ambitions only stretch as far as taking over the tri-state area, he’s in a romantically-coded/joked about rivalry with a sentient platypus, he’s a good dad, he once lost a fight with a potted plant, he was forced to be a lawn gnome. But most importantly, he never gives up.

It's still kinda wild how Phineas and Ferb managed to completely hijack an idiom. Now whenever someone hears a sentence leading with "If I had a nickel for everytime [...]", odds are their brain auto fills with "I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice," rather than "I'd be rich," or "I could [action that requires purchasing something requiring an obscene amount of money]". Y'know, what the idiom originally was
