Love when industries complain that they can’t find skilled workers. Like obviously you can’t bc no one is willing to train anyone anymore. They all want experience. Where are workers supposed to get it?

tbh it seems like they got rid of tecna Bc they can’t fit her into the shitty “elemental” bs they’re doing but that removes so much fun of Winx :/

„Flora doesn’t exist. Terra is a new character.”
“Elisha is part east-asian.”
Okay, I’m getting tired of hearing these. Look, you’re right. Terra is a new character. Except for the fact that she is literally Flora. Why would they cast a new character, give her the same powers and a similar name when they could’ve just let her stay Flora? And if they wanted to create a new character, why make her white? Even if she is in fact a new character, they still decided to cut out a poc character in favor of a new white character. Why? Because they wanted to.
And I don’t know whether Elisha is in fact part east-asian, because I haven’t found any actual source for it yet. If she is, great for her. Honestly, I don’t want her to feel excluded and spread any hate towards her just because she’s mixed. Nonetheless, whoever was in charge of the casting process decided to cast a woman who looks white, and I’m sure it was intentional.
Basically, they could’ve casted non-white actresses but instead went out of their way to cast white/white-looking actresses instead. And no one can convince me that that wasn’t done on purpose.

i'm seeing SO MUCH 'it's not THAT bad!' and like no! it's not! if you take it by itself. if you set aside all context, it's not that ugly, it doesn't look cheap or irredeemable, sure.
but it doesn't exist by itself. it exists in the context of the cw, and the television industry, and, yknow, THE ORIGINAL SHOW?
winx club fans aren't being unreasonable or vindictive for being pissed off that the winx club reboot doesn't have the barest sliver of winx club in it.

Do you remember the 4kids official winx site?
Well… Appearently it’s still available through web archive. And it’s so painfully yet beautifully 2000′s.
https://web.archive.org/web/20050601011026/http://www.winxclub.tv:80/index.php
It comes with gems like the sparkly noises and the characters introducing themselves in their 4kids voices.

The worst Sky offense for me isn’t even him two-timing Diaspro and Bloom, like stupid teenage princes gonna stupid teenage prince, the worst part for me is he’s fucking BORING. and he and bloom’s relationship is BORING. there’s no FLAVOR and they’re not even CUTE. tecna/Timmy, flora/Helia, all the other ships are realistic and interesting and have specific, personality specific dynamics and realistic conflicts that are always resolved genuinely and realistically. Meanwhile sky and bloom is just “I love u coz ur hot and the writers say we’re soulmates” “omg same” “but we’re not allowed to be as character driven as the other characters to retain some weird relatability so all of our conflicts are vapid and juvenile” like it’s so BORING and instead of making the characters more blank/relatable it just makes them childish and stupid

Okay so what if each Winx girl is able to lend their power to others to form their own Bloomix-type fairy form? Like, say Stella wants to give each girl access to the shining sun, or Tecna wants to share her technology powers in order to let each fairy communicate with zenix-specific technology or something. My thoughts on this are:
Stella: stellix/illumix, each girl gets star emblems resembling stella’s usual symbol and their wings all have sunbeam patterns. The criteria for this is making a tough decision for yourself, “illuminating” your path!
Flora: Florix, with floral wings and vines for shoes. The criteria for this is personal growth, whatever that means for each fairy.
Tecna: logix, very futuristic, maybe they’re all different bodysuits?? I think this one is opening yourself up to new possibilities and accepting change.
Musa: musix, each girl has her own specific music note and maybe they have different instrument motifs!! The criteria for this one is listening to your heart and doing what you know is right.
Aisha: Aquatix, I see this as very flowy and similar to Harmonix, maybe with a fish scale theme? The criteria is being flexible and “going with the flow”.
It really uses each of the girls powers as a metaphor, which is what I wish they’d done with Bloomix. I think the criteria should’ve been doing something you’re passionate about or being courageous, instead of just a “good act”
Also I realize a lot of these are sort of similar?? Esp Aisha’s Aquatix, Tecna’s Logix and Flora’s Florix, as well as Stella’s Illumix and Musa’s musix, but it’s not like Winx doesn’t reuse criteria already anyway
