being young and innocent and finding cat hybrid!kaiser as a kitten wet and shaking in a lone alleyway with only a flimsy cardboard box as shelter. your ignorant kindness makes you take him home to clean him up and asking your parents if you can keep him with large, pleading eyes as you scratch behind his infested-ears, not noticing how his battered tail wraps around your leg.

flash forward a few years, he's grown and gotten bigger, stronger, more handsome even. you find out that he's from an endangered breed of german longhairs and a research facility wants to take him to meet others around the world to help repopulate the breed. but that means separating himself from you and kaiser can't even fathom the thought of him being with anyone but you.

especially since he's marked his territory all over you—you smell almost exactly like him after years of being at each other's side. his fur is littered on everything you own, this silent marker of him so people instantly know there's someone waiting for you at home. you chose him, his loyalty belongs to you.

and if they need to help repopulate the breed, then they'll have no difficulties from his end. well, it's a good thing his heat is coming up because now, he'll have a good excuse to pounce on you
