Joshua Oppenheimer’s The End is a gut punch that like Von Trier’s aborted Dogville trilogy, rubs our noses in American grotesque. Phenomenal performances all around, Tilda Swinton on another level than anything I have seen her in before. And Michael Shannon cooking like he always does. I’m so happy when I see films like this that go all in and are justifiably not for everybody.
