Super Junior’s Kangin attends first DUI trial.  

On August 17, Super Junior's Kangin attended the first trial for his DUI accident from May.

During the trial, Kangin’s legal representative claimed, “Kangin has admitted to driving under the influence and is currently reflecting on his actions. However, the officially announced blood alcohol level is high compared to the amount of alcohol he actually consumed.” He continued, “Please consider that there were no other damages done other than to the streetlight. Also, it is true that he was involved in similar cases before, but that was 7 years ago. He may be at fault, but also received harsh criticism as the case was reported excessively all over the media. It is most likely that he will not be able to continue promoting.”

Kangin stated at the end of the trial, “I should’ve been more cautious as a celebrity and I am reflecting on my actions. I will not create such a situation again.”

A fine of 7,000,000 KRW (approximately $6,050 USD) has been issued against Kangin. The final ruling will be announced on September 7.
