It had all started off as a sort of joke. Hank had had enough of the DPD, he’d been offered the chance of early retirement rather than face disciplinary action and probably sacking for punching Perkins. He’d taken the rather sweet deal and tried to figure out what to do. The unlikeliest of answers came in the face of Gavin and his casual tactless humour.

“You drank enough these last few years you know enough about alcohol. Why not use your experience to sell that crap?”

To make things even more surprising, Gavin offered to become business partners. He hadn’t been making the progress he wanted at the DPD, now that Hank’s position of Lieutenant had been vacated, he’d hoped for a promotion but it never came. Bitter disappointment had a funny way of spurring people on and Gavin had decided that branching out into different avenues was going to be the best thing. So he offered to invest in Hank’s shop while also carrying on at the DPD.
