sometimes self care looks like:
saying no
walking away
going out to have fun
staying in your room all day
sleeping a lot
talking to people
not talking to people
making new friends
getting rid of friends
crying about something
laughing about something
decompressing emotions
expressing yourself in new ways
exploring your identity
and much more
caring for yourself takes many forms.

English-APP Reading Record September 13-September 23
Unit 1: The Nature of Academic Text
The character of academic literature was the topic of last week's class. I discovered that academic texts are written by experts in a certain topic. The academic text raises important concerns and issues while maintaining an objective viewpoint. Non-academic literature, on the other hand, can be authored by anyone and published rapidly. Non-academic texts include Wikipedia, newspapers, religious writings, graphic novels, and magazines.
I learned about the structures of paragraphs and the structures of a three-part essay in the class on academic text structure. Structures deal with a single topic or concept. The main sentence, supporting sentence, and ending sentence are the three sections of the paragraph structure. Three primary elements make up the structure of a three-part essay. The first is the introduction, which serves as a backgrounder. The body, which gives evidence to support the thesis statement, and the conclusion, which allows for evaluation of the topic, make up the second and third parts, respectively.
Unit 2: Thesis Statement and Outlining
As I learned in unit 2, a thesis statement clearly identifies the topic, encompasses the topics mentioned throughout the piece, and is written for a specific audience. Your thesis statement, also known as your introduction, should be at the end of your first paragraph, and I learned that an outline is a logical compilation of your essay's main points.
Outlining can help you define and organize your theme and subtopics so that the reader follows a logical path from your thesis to the conclusion. Many authors use outlines to help them visualize and explain their ideas during the planning stage of their writing process.
Unit 3: Summarizing      The most important thing I've learned about summarizing is to look for the most important and primary theme or line in the article/essay and keep the story brief.
Unit 4: Paraphrasing      What I've learned about paraphrasing is that it's when you change the words in a statement but preserve the meaning of the sentence. Usually, this is done to avoid plagiarism.
Unit 5: Citing Sources of Information      I've learned a lot about citing information sources. Citing or noting the sources you used in your research serves three purposes,It correctly credits the creators of the words or ideas you used in your paper. It allows those who are reading your work to look up your references and learn more about the concepts you mention.
