Hunt's Point Palace Circa 1970's.  So excited to have come across this photo. I was just admiring the building a few days ago, wondering what it used to be. For me, it was the clothing store Persuasion. Now it's a Duane Reade with 2 floors.

These John Ahearn sculptures are about as old as I am; produced in the 80's as a celebration of local life in the South Bronx.

You know her... the little old lady that watches the neighborhood from her window with curious eyes... Watch what you do or she'll tell your mother.

A mountain of ice becomes a playground where there are far too few.

I couldn't do anything but smile at this little girl's determination to succeed at rolling her scooter through the ice. It's an attitude I hope will serve her well in life.
