“Of course~” Dagger smiled as she offered a platter of lemon bars.

“Any time you want lemon bars, just say the word!”

      💎 │       Jane merely nodded her head acknowledging Dagger’s words as she gave brief directions on where things were inside her home. Eyes curiously looked around her daughter’s home. A smile spread across her lips. ❛Her home definitely has its own special charm to it~❜ she thought with a chuckle.

   Attention soon enough returned to Dagger’s tale of adventure. Once again holding her immediate attention when she sat down in the dining room. Everything was rather interesting until Dagger arrived at the fake marriage and younger summoner part. ❝Fake marriage~?❞ eyes sparkled as voice affected a teasing tone. ❝Tell me, who was the lucky lad you had done this with~❞ not only was Jane curious she was greatly amused. Though, there was something else that caught her attention. ❝A younger summoner? I’m glad there were a few of us that managed to survive that awful night.❞ her mind had concluded this younger summoner had to be even younger than Dagger. Thus, they would have to be born some years after the attack on Madain Sari.

..Well, the topic couldn’t be avoided. Why? ...Dagger wasn’t sure. It wasn’t simply because the woman is her mother, could it? ...Nah. It probably was. And her tale was something she really did wish to tell of her mother... but she had passed away before she had the chance to. And it seems as though fate decided to grant her another chance to do so. For once, it wasn’t so cruel to her.

“Just a guy who not only abducted me from Alexandria twice, but was known as a skirt chaser for quite some time.” She chuckled before placing the cups on their respective saucer. Dagger moved around the counter to place one before the woman and then moved to the opposite end to set her own down and seating herself. “I can’t say for sure if her family was there that night.. but if it were not for that child, I don’t think I would have known about Madain Sari.” She nodded. Or even get some of my memories back. After all.. just being there felt... just a bit nostalgic but couldn’t really figure out why.

“In any case, our goal at the time was to fight against an enemy who was said to arrive at the Iifa Tree in a while, so we had to recruit the child to undo the seal upon it to prevent any more danger. However... that was when there was trouble at the village, so we had to go back and get the village jewel back from a bounty thief, who in turn took the child as hostage in attempt to take mine from Alexandria.” The very jewels said to summon forth Alexander itself. Dagger then took a careful sip from her cup. “...However, the plan backfired on them and the child agreed to go with us in the end.”

It wasn't often that she was referred to or called a canary. But Dagger supposed once in a while was fine. Though... for him to say he's here to keep her safe... she had to wonder who or what impelled others to seek her head after all this time. Her arms crossed, a hand cupping her chin then. There wasn't-- or rather-- shouldn't be much of a price on her head. Maybe as someone who left the throne, but if it was because she's a summoner from Madain Sari... What of Eiko? ...Nay. She now has the protection of Lindblum. There was no need to worry about the young child.

“Is it truly alright? I’ve nothing to pay you for the services...” She responded. And it was true. Dagger does what she can to get by, thus her ways of asking others if they had favors needed to be done in order to be paid for it. Just so long as it wasn’t something out of her own capabilities, of course.
