30/30 Hammer Horror Movies
This was a disappointing end to my Hammer journey. It was too 70s which is a rare thing for me to say. Aesthetically it looked great and I like the ideas of Dracula using a satanic cult to try and bring about the end of the world, but it was overall kinda boring and more of like a government conspiracy spy film than anything else. Both the leads were so old but they didn’t even show them enough so they couldn’t do much to save the film.

This one had so many hot naked girls! Lots of good tits too. The plot was pretty generic and really just served the exploitation but I was okay with it. Actually kicks into gear at the end and Peter Cushing is there to kill the hot lesbo vamps with no hesitation!

There is just something so primo about the 70s hammer horror films. I wanted to see this one and one other vampire on because I’m a big fan of 70s erotic vampire movies in general, so these had to get watched this year. The main girl is this one is suuuuper hot but there’s no shortage of beautiful women in this. And plenty of titties. The main guy sucks, he’s so easily seduced by the hot vamp and won’t listen to the obvious reason of the other hot girl, the dead bodies with bite marks, or the papers he’s reading that incriminate the main chick. Love a good town riot with torches where they storm the castle to kill the vampires! Really this one is just good all around

I wanted one about witches to cover a wide variety of different horror, this one still felt more like a satanic cult, but it was good. The main actress really carried the film. The cult lady at the end was great and I liked the costumes, the acting, and the folk horror vibes. Main young girl was great as well! A good addition

This one is top tier! It’s got Peter Cushing killin it as usual, and a great performance from Christopher Lee as the mummy. It’s got the classic smash through the class door scene which I feel is key. It’s got the great discovery opening and the cool tomb. This one also tells the actual story of how the mummy came to be and his motivations apart from the guy controlling him. The whole thing is so good! There was definitely a lot of brown face in this so I can see why maybe it’s a little bit buried and why the other mummy one after this felt like another restart, but this one is so good and so much better than that other one. I even like it better than the universal mummy movie, which was never a fave for me in that cinematic world, but this one is changing my mind! This and Frankenstein and Dracula were such great movies from Hammer and I’m really happy that I watched this one!

This was a weird one. More French based than British. Another one that was more about plotting and backstabbing than actual horror. The whole thing of the maniac was weird because it wasn’t even the same blow torch guy at the end, just another plot twist. There were almost too many of them to make sense or to follow the story coherently. The guy and girl probably end up together at the end, but he’s a dick for picking her mom over her in the first place, so it’s not a cute ending. Not great overall but not bad.

This one was an interesting concept. Lots of mind games and a shocking reveal played on the first girl but then they turn it around on the couple who hurt her and get back at them. A satisfying ending and you get to watch women get so fucked with they think they’re going crazy and see what they do, which is always fun. Love women in old films being crazy!

Beetlejuice and Lydia for Halloween. The costumes turned out great and we got lots of compliments. Didn’t win the costume contest but it’s hard to beat Bert and Ernie

23/30 Hammer Horror Movies
This one was pretty lame. A good concept but the execution sucked, the main girl is just catatonic, I would have loved to see her have more expression and be more openly evil since she’s supposed to be possessed by Jack the Ripper. Strangely hammer horror really liked women being the ripper which is cool, but the best one was sister Hyde for sure
