A lot of these boys have been with Coach Rob since the very beginning. We’ve been incredibly lucky to have him for this long, and we’ll miss him as he steps away to deal with personal matters. Today was their last game together, for now, and Jeremy said he’s not going anywhere as long as Coach Rob comes back.

We originally planned to skip a party for Adam’s 8th birthday this year. But after some thought, I just couldn’t go through with it—he’s only this little once. One day he’ll ask not to have a party, and I know I’ll be heartbroken. So we pulled off a belated surprise with his closest school friends, In-N-Out burgers, It’s-It ice cream sandwiches, a piñata (all things he talked about recently), and of course, opening presents.

Jeremy and Adam were so excited to show us all their classwork and projects from throughout the school year. Just when we think it’s been the best year yet, the next one somehow tops it. It’s nice to see how proud our boys are of their work and how much they’ve learned and matured over the past year. 2nd and 4th grade- that’s a wrap!

May has definitely been a whirlwind—capped off with a weekend trip to NYC to celebrate our friend Roger’s wedding, and our very first time leaving all four boys home on their own. They truly stepped up, showing so much responsibility and maturity. I was so proud of how well they listened, handled themselves, and how grown-up they’ve become. But what meant the most was seeing how they bonded from us being away—looking out for each other, finding comfort in one another, and getting themselves up and ready each morning. It was a big milestone for them—and for us. We’re so lucky to have them, and they’re just as lucky to have each other. P.S We couldn’t have made it through the weekend without our incredible support system back home—shuttling and feeding the boys, checking in on them constantly, sending us photos, entertaining them, and reassuring me that everything was under control. What touched me most was how these amazing moms stepped up for the Mother-Son dance, making sure Jeremy and Adam didn’t miss this night when I couldn’t be there. I’m truly so lucky!

What a fun week we had with our house guest from HK—it felt like a mini vacation for the boys! They couldn’t wait to rush home from school each day (and squeezed in every sec) to hang with Uncle Vince. He tagged along for dental appointments, practices, and even helped with drop-offs. They’re already missing their morning basketball card rituals, cheering for the Warriors against the Timberwolves until the very end, and those late-night 1-v-1 games. And I miss my daily walk or two with Uncle Vince. Until next time…

Happy birthday, Addy! We kicked off the day with the much-anticipated balloons, followed by a surprise breakfast visit from Uncle Vince! Buldak noodles by request, a lunchtime surprise, class treats, his favorite dinner, and chocolate ice cream with all the fixings—for my absolute favorite 8-year-old. Oh, if only I could keep you little…

Uncle Vince showed up just in time to help us get Adam’s birthday balloons ready for the next morning. Note: Adam was asleep by the time Uncle Vince arrived- actual surprise to be on his birthday!

The best birthday surprise for Adam! We’d been keeping Uncle Vince’s visit a secret from the kids for about two weeks. And the look on their faces when they saw him was priceless.

Just when life couldn’t get any more complicated, Dad’s back from his trip and Ian’s off solo to LA with his teammates. They even managed a quick hello at the airport! Ian wasn’t sure he could handle it alone, but he ended up having a blast hanging out with the team all weekend.
