I've lost count of the number of gig's i've been to, so I have decided to start a blog about the thing I love the most

Oh Morrissey
March 14th 2015
No matter what this man sings, he cannot escape his roots. The Smiths will always be a huge part of Morrissey’s career and is what got him to where he is today. The crowd at the Bournemouth International Centre were eagerly waiting for Morrissey to arrive on stage; the pre gig video which was used instead of a support act was equally as puzzling as some of the members of the crowd. A montage containing poems about death, video clips from the likes of The New York Dolls and The Ramones to clips of men flamenco dancing. Angry old school rockers in the crowd didn’t seem too amused by this video where as the wanna be “Mozzer’s” in the crowd were trying to appreciate the video but mostly people were extremely confused. It wasn’t till half eight until Morrissey blessed us with his presence, the crowd was greeted with a “Bournemouth Strikes Again!” Straight in was a Smith’s cover of The Queen is Dead which proceeded with an image of the Queen herself with both middle fingers up to the audience. Baring in mind Morrissey is a little over 50 and recovering from cancer his stage presence is ecstatic, the crowd coming alive with just his approach on stage. With the first song being only one of four Smith’s songs diehard fans would have been disappointed. However his set didn’t lack of Morrissey classics songs such as Everyday Is Like Sunday, Suedehead and World Peace is None of Your Business.
The most controversial point of the gig ( which is expected of Morrissey ) was during Meat is Murder when a montage of a number of different animals being tortured appeared on screen, causing many fainters to be carried out of the crowd. The vibe of the gig quickly changed at this point however was picked back up when the video ended and Morrissey continued with The Bullfighter Dies. After the encore Morrissey returns to the stage to sing Speedway with a Bigmouth Strikes Again snippet which pleased the crowd immensely. However no matter how brilliant Morrissey’s songs are they will never get the same reaction as The Smiths songs do.
