How the Maltese became Christians
How the Maltese became Christians?
Unfortunately the Maltese people, in those days, did not believe in the true God. Many still worshipped the strange religion of the Phoenicians, Carthagians or the false gods of their conquerors, the Romans.
The Shipwreck of St. Paul
Saint Paul was the greatest of the pioneers of the Christian Religion. He was one day imprisoned at Jerusalem and then sent to Caesarea by the roman captain of the cohort because the Jews clamoured for his death. Saint Paul appealed against them and demanded a trial before the Roman Emperor. His demand could not be refused and he was sent captive to Rome. On the way, his ship was caught by a strong gale and Saint Paul told the Centurion that everybody would be saved but the ship would be lost. "We must be cast upon a certain island."
"When we escaped we knew that the island was called Melita"* *This word is perhaps a derivation of the Greek word "Meli" or the Latin word "Mel" both words mean honey, for which the Island was renowned. The Apostle and all those who were shipwrecked with him, received a cordial welcome from the Maltese people. During his stay in Malta, Saint Paul preached the Gospel and established Christianity among the Maltese. He healed the father of "Publius", the first man of the island, who, according to the Acts of the Apostles, "lay sick of fever and dysentery".  Saint Paul consecrated "Publius" as the First Bishop of Malta.

The Tarxien Temples.
The Tarxien Temples were constructed at height of the Temple Period, witnessing the culmination of prehistoric art, architecture and ritual practices in Late Neolithic Malta.
The first megalithic structure was built at around 3600BC.
The remains of this building can still be seen today at the eastern extent of the site.  It originally consisted of five semicircular rooms, known as apses, and had a concave facade.
The Central Temple is the latest of the four buildings and the only known example of a temple with a 6-apse plan. The large main apse have a megalithic walls and paving. A stone hearth in the centre still has the pink hue which indicates burning.
The smaller central apses are unpaved. On each side of the central passage are two screens decorated with four spirals and in the rooms behind them stands a small feature with a shelf.
The Central Temple was probably the last to be constructed and has the most complex plan.

My Name is Malta Brand
Something about the company
My Name is Malta is a Maltese clothing line inspired on the Maltese culture and traditions. We present on each one of our t-shirts the history, courage, language and cuisine of the Maltese people. We believe that through our designs, we have found a combination of fun yet realistic interpretation of such a diverse culture. Our designs are primarily sketched and drawn by hand based on cartoons and caricatures of our favourite Maltese idiosyncrasies. The designs are then transferred by pressing onto 100% cotton fabric. The clothing tags are finally individually sewn to suit the design of the t-shirt, bearing the company name and logo.
