FIRST TIME SCENARIO WITH XIAO
Genre:Smut💋
WARNING ⚠️: Female reader, Worried Xiao, Soft dom Xiao, Oral sex(female receiving), ruined orgasm, First time but not the “first time” sex, penetrative sex, cream pie, Ruined Orgasm, slight breeding kink
@soul-dancer-lyris
———————————————————
The first time you and xiao had sex was after a fight. He worries about you and fears for your safety when you are away from him. He knows a humans life can be very fragile, blink and he could miss it. He loves you more than words can describe and would do anything for you.
You two argued all the way to the room you two share in wangshu inn. Your voices echoing off the walls and you are sure the other guests can you hear you two. You didn’t know why he was freaking out, sure it’s a few wounds but it’s not bad, you’re breathing and walking and not feeling lightheaded. “ I’m fine xiao, nothing serious happened and it’s just a little bit of blood. Nothing a little antibiotic cream and bandages can fix.”
“ nothing serious happened this time! You are human, what if next time you don’t come out alive? What will you do? Is some small Commission worth your life?” He said, a tiny growl bubbling up from the back of his throat as he glared at you, fist clenched and teeth grinding together. He ushered you into the shared bedroom, like a Shepard guiding his sheep you followed obediently behind him, no room to fight him. especially not after what he said to you. He told you to sit on the bed and the look on his face left no room for argument, so you planted yourself on the bed and waited for him to return. He appeared again but this time he had bandages and other type of medical supplies that he keeps in a closet for you.
He carefully dabbed a soaked rag with water on the open wound that was on your arm, he careful scrubbed the blood and dirt off the wound, making sure not to harm you anymore or make you uncomfortable. “This will sting a little.” He mumbled out as he grabbed a glass bottle, popping the cork off and another clean rag, the smell of herbs filled the air as he poured the greenish yellow liquid onto the rag and pressed it against the the now cleaned wound. You flinched softly, a little whimper slipping through your lips as you stiffened at the slight sting of the saline solution. Placing three thick gauzes against the now Disinfected wound he told you to hold it in place as he started to roll the beige cohesive bandage around your arm.
“The time we have together is short... a humans life is short and I don’t want anything to Disturb the time we have together. I can’t ask you to stay with me forever, I don’t want to put that burden on you. The life of immortality is tough and full of sorrow and I can never ask you to live that life with me. “ he said, his slightly above a whisper as he stared at your now wrapped arm. His mind was running so fast, thoughts of losing you one day will always set heavily on his mind. One day he will no longer see your smile or wake up next to you, he wanted to cherish the so little time he had with you and wants nothing to stand in the way of it.
“ you mean too much to me, more than I can express or even say and one day you will-“ you stopped his words by cupping his jaw and capturing his lips in a heated kiss. You didn’t want to think about the future, you knew one day you two will walk separate paths but for now you and him walked the same one and that was all you needed. You pulled back and slightly gasped for air, your lips slightly puffy and cheeks tinted red as you two stared at each other , xiao leaned his forehead against yours and closed his eyes, hands playing with the bottom of your blouse.” Strip and allow me to show you how much I love and care for you.” He softly said as you nodded your head and stared to strip your clothes off, unbuttoning your blouse you shrugged it off and worked on the zipper of your skirt and kicked it off as well, letting it land in some random part of the room as Xiao guided you to lay on your back.
“ you are on my mind every day, every second. All I can think about is you. So please let me indulge in you for awhile. “ Xiao said as he stared down at you, taking in very curve and dip of your body. Tracing every little scar and stretch mark that adored your body. He thought you looked beautiful with clothes on, he could never take his eyes off of you but with you laying bare underneath him, showing him the most vulnerable parts of yourself to him. He felt overwhelmed in a way, he didn’t know what to touch or kiss first. He stared at your breast, nipples standing stiff from the chill in the air and the heat that was swarming in your lower belly. “ please no more teasing xiao, touch me.”
Cupping your breast in his strong hands he squeezed your tits together, pressing them together and squeezing them. Dipping his head down to your left breast, he took a pebbled nub into his mouth and sucked, rolling his tongue over it as he gentle squeezed his teeth around it. He plucked and rolled and squeezed the other nipple that wasn’t in his mouth with his callused fingers , give it the same attention as the one inside in mouth. Letting the now sensitive nipple out of his mouth, he started to focus on the skin that hasn’t been marked. Attaching his lips to the side of your neck and brought the skin in between in teeth and sucked lightly, holding so tightly onto your hips you are sure bruises will be left on them tomorrow. He left bright red hickeys on your neck, collarbone and trailed them down your body.
Squeezing your legs shut, you looked at him with a slight pout, your checks flushed a blush pink as you stared at him. “ you don’t need to be shy, let me see you.” He said as he placed his warm hand on your knees, tapping if his fingers softly on your kneecaps. “ I -it’s not fair, I’m fully undressed while you still have all your clothes on. Take something off...” you replied, huffing as you tugged on the one bell sleeve he had on. He sat up and rested on his calves and tugged off his top and letting it fall to the floor with the other accessories that were thrown mindlessly around the room, kicking off his pants he grabbed your thighs and tugged you towards him. “ is that better?” He asked as he tugged your legs apart.
Exhaling softly through his nose, he let out a groan at the sight of your dripping cunt. He placed a forearm against your abdomen as he spread your dewy folds open with two fingers. Watching as your clit throbbed with beer and your entrance squeezing around nothing, arousal seeping out and dripping down your asscheeks and staining the bedsheets underneath you two. “ Playing with your nipples turned you on this much? Your practically a mess down here. Who knew you were such a pervert. “ he chuckled huskily as he placed his tongue flat again your cunt, growling at the taste of you.
“X-xiao!” You cried as your hands shot down and grabbed his Emerald colored hair, your hips bucking up but he pressed you back down into the plush bedding underneath you. “ don’t move or I’ll stop. “ he warned against your cunt, the sound of his voice sent vibrations through your core as your legs bucked up and squeezed around his head. He puckered his lips and wrapped them around your throbbing clit, pressing his tongue against the pulsing bundle of nerve as he sucked softly on it, humming slightly. You felt something tightening in your stomach, you clenched his hair tighter between your nimble fingers, legs shaking uncontrollably now as your moans got louder and louder.
“ not yet, I want you to come around my cock for the first time.” Xiao said as he sat up and looked at your with pupils blow wide and a storm of lust swirling in those amber colored eyes that you adored so much. You huffed out, still upset over the now ruined orgasm. You could still feel it in your tummy and slightly tempted to take care of it yourself but your eyes caught sight of his cock standing tall and thick against his stomach. It throbbed slightly, twitching a little as precum dripped down the tip of it. Licking your lips, you sat up and trailed your hand down your body and spread your folds open with two fingers like xiao did. You cunt clammed down on nothing again as you tapped your clit a few time before looking back up at xiao. “ no more waiting, I want you now. It would be a shame if I decided to take care of myself wouldn’t it?” You faked innocence, tilting your head to the side to act as if you are thinking about what you said but all you could think about was Xiao’s thick cock splitting the wall of your cunt open as he claimed you.
A low growl was heard before you were pushed roughly down onto the bed once again, Xiao settling himself in between your legs as he let a dribble of spit fall onto his cock and pumping it before tapping it against your clit. He nudged and poked the tip of his hard cock against your opening. “ hold onto me.” Listening to him, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders and tucked your face into the crook of his neck. You Absentmindedly pushed your fingers into his hair played with the strains.
Pushing his hips forwards he was admittedly engulfed with the feeling of your tight, sopping wet cunt that welcomed him. Sighing as he finally bottomed out, looking down he watched as your cunt swallowed his length greedily, the gummy walls of your cunt squeezing him tightly, pulling him further into you. His hipbone pressed against yours, you two connected Intimately for the first time.
The stretch to accommodate him was a struggle but you loved the slight burn it gave. You whine as he pulls out, the length of his cock covered in your slick, you grab his bicep as he tightly grabs your waist in return. He sheathes himself inside of you in one smooth motion again. Tossing your head back, your eyes rolled back as your head tilted into the pillows as Xiao set a fast and hard pace. His hips slapping into yours and the sound of skin on skin could be heard echoing through the room and along with your moans that mingle together. You could feel his balls slapping against your ass as your legs began to shake once again, you were close to coming once and again and you prayed he wouldn’t tease you again.
“Your gonna cum soon aren’t you? Your cunt just tightened around my cock, I can barely pull out now. You want my cum don’t you? Want me to fill you with my seed?” Xiao growled out, his breath hitting the shell of your ear as he tugged on the earlobe. He started to pound into your cunt at a neck breaking speed as he used you however he wanted to. He hissed vulgar things at you, words you didn’t think he knew but he somehow did and it made you tighten even more around him, if that’s possible. He angled his hips so the tip of his cock and slam into that spongy spot inside of you, your knees bucking again his sides as he grabbed them and folded you in half, the front side of your legs now pressed against your chest as he took you, a feral look on his face.
Back arching as you cum, your nails digging into his shoulders hard enough that it draws blood. Sobs and muffled moans could be heard from you as your body began to shake and twitch as you felt another orgasm approaching, this one not as strong as the first but it still made you cry and scream out in pleasure as xiao speed up, chasing his own release. Letting out a groan as he buried his face into your chest, cock twitching as he came, rope after rope of thick white cum filled your insides and feeling the warmth of xiao’s cum fill your womb.
He stopped with his cock still sheathed inside of your quivering cunt, he filled you till he had no more cum to give, pulling out slowly as he heard you whimper at the lost of his warmth, he watched as his cum pooled out of you and made a mess of the sheets below you two. He pushed the cum back into your used hole, watching as you twitched and your cunt clenching around the offending fingers. Pushing against his hand away you shook your head, to Sensitive to continue and absolutely exhausted now. He gave a small smile, love shown in his eyes as he pulled his fingers out and wiped them on the sheets.
He got up and headed to the bathroom to grabbed a rag to clean you off , picking up the pitcher he soaked the cloth in the lukewarm water before wringing it out and headed back to the bedroom to wash the cum and sweat that has become tacky and dried on you. He gently brought the rag against your legs and wiped you off, he was especially careful around your now swollen and puffy cunt, making sure not to simulate you in anyway or cause you any discomfort. He threw the rag on the bedside table before climbing into bed with you and wrapping his strong arms around you, pulling you close to his chest as he pressed a kiss against your forehead as he watched you drift into sleep.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEEE Mr Scarletta and Mr crawling separate SFW and NSFW HCS X READER!!!!🤞😭😭 (I need them both, and there’s such a lack of my beautiful red princess’s with a disorder (Mr Scarletta) fics, it’s insane.)
mr scarletella & mr crawling sfw/nsfw headcanons!
warnings. no actual spoilers for the game, but obv nsfw but ive separated them if nobody wants to read that kind of stuff >w<
mr scarletella sfw
🌊 It’s a known fact that Mr. Scarletella is obsessed with you, but how far is that obsession willing to go? Even if you weren’t aware, he follows you wherever you go. He knows where you are at all times. The feeling of being watched never leaves.
🌊 Mr. Scarletella is a man of a few words (you like me, me like you, me want you, give name…), and you could probably count on one hand how many sentences he says in a day. And yet, he’s the type to just enjoy your presence, and if he doesn’t want you to leave just yet, he’s blocking your way with that damn umbrella of his.
🌊 He’s not the most affectionate kind, either- but he loves to receive it. Passing by him and you blowing him a kiss, shooting him a wink or a quick pat of his cheek is enough to have him growing crazy. He wants a kiss on the cheek? He’ll point to his cheek. He wants to hold your hand? He stretches out his palm towards you, and you can tell he’s jealous when he’s the one to start touching you.
🌊 He’s semi tangible, and his touch is weird. When he’s intangible, it’s almost a fuzzy feeling on your skin, like static. When he is tangible, he has no body heat. Not cold, not warm. Just there. Wear anything that shows a little bit of skin? He’s teleporting behind you and gives you that almost ‘static shock’ type of touch just to see your reaction. He has the audacity to act like he’s done nothing, tilting his head in a way that was far too inhuman to be possible, as if asking you, “What?”
🌊 He’s not one to shy away from toying with you. Yeah, it’s nice hearing that you like him, but it’s nicer when he actually sees it. He’ll leave his umbrella, his lifeline, laying about in your periphery and watch you scamper about the place trying to find him so you can return it. And when you do, his grin is ear to ear.
🌊 Smells of the outside, as if it’s just freshly rained. Always. He’ll let you shove your face into his neck and sniff him like a dog if it means you’ll touch him.
mr crawling sfw
🌊 Talk about literal boywife. He will do anything and everything you ask of him, everything and anything just for your touch and praise.
🌊 He’s high maintenance, but prone to getting his feelings hurt easily. Accidentally hurts you? Crying. You take too long to come back to him? Crying. He’s a massive cry baby, and it’s such a sorry sight when he sits in a corner, arms wrapped around his legs and his face buried. As easy as it is for him to be sad, he’s just as quick to cheer up with a quick pet and an, “I like you.”
🌊 His love knows no bounds. He’ll find you pretty no matter what- human, monstrous, grotesque- he doesn’t care. He’s the best at giving ‘pick me ups’ when you’re feeling down. Peppering cool kisses on your face, a mantra of “pretty!” and “cute!” passing his lips, and he doesn’t stop until you’re giggling and pushing him away.
🌊 Has to be touching you, at all times. Obviously, he can’t hold your hand as he uses his arms to get around, but when it’s you two in bed together? He’s all over you. Arms, legs, hair. He holds you tight to his chest, legs locked with yours and his hair all over your face. He refuses to tie it up, but will let you braid it! Just for sleeping though… And it has to be loose!
🌊 The jealous type! When you carry Mr. Chopped around for too long, he’s pouting. When Mr. Silvair takes your blood, he’s pouting. When you got separated and was in the care of Mr. Hood, he’s thankful that you were safe at least, but he’s still pouting, and steals you away for ‘alone’ time.
mr scarletella nsfw
🌊 You will never see this man underneath you. Will never bottom. It’s just not happening. He’s a service top, through and through.
🌊 Want his mouth? Hands? Dick? He’s got that coy smirk on his face and you just know you’re gonna have to beg for it. If you start pouting or whining, he’ll crack and give you what you desire.
🌊 He likes to hold your hands above your head, just to see your face and expressions. He’s on a power trip- his object of obsession, underneath him, full of bliss- he could cum on the spot. He loves seeing you, every part of you in every way possible.
🌊 He’ll thrust into you, muttering how much he likes you, how much he wants you, how much he needs you- but other than that, he’s not very vocal. It’ll be the most you’ll hear him speak in one sitting.
🌊 Totally has a thing for you wrapping your legs around him and pulling him closer. He loves feeling wanted by you, in all ways possible.
🌊 Mr. Scarletella isn’t the best at aftercare, but once clothes are back on, he’ll let you rest his head in his lap, and pets your head until you feel 100% again (and probably pops another boner again at how close you are).
mr crawling nsfw
🌊 He’s clumsy, he’s clueless, but he tries his best. It’s a very loving experience - never feels as if you’re just fucking, it’s always making love.
🌊 Mr. Crawling’s the type to get hard over just kissing you. Whether it’s a peck, a full make out session, or even just a kiss on the cheek, he’s rock solid. Not just from arousal, he’s just prone to love boners!
🌊 He’s whiny. He moans a lot, especially when you praise him. He grasps at your clothes or skin when he’s getting close, nails leaving marks that won’t leave for a few days, marks that he’ll smother kisses over with deep apologies after.
🌊 Reaaaally long tongue, and loves to make you feel good with it. He could spend hours between your legs, pressing kisses into every part of you he could reach. As if he’s trying to devour you. Totally into tongue fucking you.
🌊 Favourite position is definitely spooning. He can touch you up easily, grind into your ass, kiss your neck… He gets to hold you close, too. It has everything he loves doing!
🌊 He’s obsessed with his after sex hair, pointing at himself and giggling. If your hair's a mess too, he cups your face, foreheads touching and laughs at you too.

♡ TW: nsfw, noncon, yandere, kidnapped reader, murder of nameless side characters
♡ fem reader
Thinking about that moment of violent change you’re forced to go through when your loving boyfriend becomes the terrifying man you don’t recognize—and how it completely eradicates the reality you’d grown so comfortable in, realizing it was all some perfectly orchestrated lie.
Rope burns on your wrists and ankles, tears streaking your chunky cheeks, and a poor soul’s blood on your pretty face belonging to some guy who’d gotten a little too close for comfort.
He’d cut him down like it was nothing.
The knife is held still by his side, a shining red murder weapon, dripping on the floor in the growing pond by his feet. He sighs heavily, casts his head back then looks behind him, beholding you through slim eyes, clicking his tongue, “Look what you made me do…”
He wouldn’t be the only one… several victims followed in his bloody path—witnesses who’d seen him struggle with you, kicking and screaming for all your worth, trying anything to get away. You were all too easily manhandled into the car, and could only watch behind the locked door, banging with bound fists on the glass while he gutted other passersby who’d threatened to call the police.
Driving off, he growls at you, first to shut up and then, “That was your fault—if only you’d been a good girl, none of those innocent people would have had to die.” His knuckles whiten on the wheel, wringing it in his stained grip—scarlet on ivory. “If you don’t want any more blood on your hands, you better sit pretty and not cause me any more trouble.”
You sob uncontrollably and inconsolably despite the threat—you can’t stop yourself—you can’t even comprehend his words. None of it makes any sense. You’d seen it all, and yet you can’t understand it—any of it. You’d watched the sweet guy you knew shed his skin and become a monster right before your eyes. It must be some bad dream, some terrible, awful, horrible nightmare.
But even if it is, you don’t want him touching you ever again. It makes you physically sick to your stomach to think you’d ever shared a bed with him—exchanged sweet nothings in the damp heat of each other. No, no, no, it’s not the same person—it can’t be. It can’t be true. What about the smiles you’d shared over breakfast, those times you’d surprised each other at lunch, all the dates, all the gifts, all the kisses, the future you’d talked about?
You’d fallen in love. But you’ve fallen in love with someone who doesn’t even exist.
He makes sure the door to the bedroom’s under lock and a key he stores somewhere you won’t find it. You squirm in your bonds on the bed when he approaches, shivering with whimpers under his hands, flinching at his touch while he unties you, then cringing as he angles your face to look at him—wanting to pry free, anything not to look into those changed eyes.
You hadn’t thought his build was imposing before, it hadn’t struck you as lethal. Naively, you’d thought him cozy—a big chest and a warm embrace he would scoop you up in, a safe place you could live. He’s cold now, menacing and filthy from his crimes—the body of a killer, a cold-blooded murderer. He’s so big it makes the room feel too small for the both of you. Claustrophobic.
He forces your gaze to him, and it’s all you see, those eyes, those unrecognizable eyes, with that look within you can’t understand, beholding you with burden.
“I still love you,” he states, though it angers him. “Even though you broke my heart. I still love you.”
You shake your head, or you try to, but it results in only tiny tremors caught in his hand where he keeps your chin, bloody fingers buried in your plump cheeks, squeezing so hard you wince.
“But it doesn’t come for free,” he seethes with an awful sneer. A type of grimace you’d never thought him capable of, overfilled with disdain. “My love is earned. And after all you did today, you’re in deep debt.”
He lets go of your face with a nasty shove, taking a mean grip on your shirt instead, using both fists to tear it down the middle. You yelp and cover yourself, but that only angers him further—causing him to grab your wrists and pin them to your side. You think you feel your joints popping.
“Test me, and I’ll hurt you,” he growls, his teeth bared at your ear where your face curls to hide itself in the pillow. “I don’t want to, but if that’s what it takes to make you sorry, then so be it. Be good, and I won’t have to take it that far.”
You lie as still as you can muster while he removes the rest—roughly as he goes—your bra, your skirt, your underwear. You only snivel and toil with the sheets in weak little fists, making your joints cramp up—feeling raw under him, at the mercy of those blood-dried hands.
You understand what he’s about to do, and yet it doesn’t really dawn on you before you hear the sharp ringing of his belt buckle being undone. You don’t look, but you don’t close your eyes either—the room is already dark enough that closing your eyes would make you feel too close to death. So, you keep your gaze fixed to the side, to the stale wall.
The bed bounces you as he shuffles. The urge to run bubbles within, but you know it wouldn’t be to your advantage. So your mind spins, thinking of other possibilities, growing ever more panicked when coming up empty.
He spits on your slit, then rears it with his spitefully erect shaft—pushing in without further prep. And you lose all sense of control.
Twisting at the attack, you scream again, “No! Stop—”
Your hands barely touch him before he’s answered the protest with a tightening grip on your neck. Unrelenting, your throat instantly snares, and you choke on any further outburst.
“I told you,” he chastises. “Why do you have to force my hand, huh?”
You gasp for any sliver worth of air, sipping through the cracks of his chokehold, but it’s very nearly sealed completely shut. You try lifting his grip with your own, both hands holding onto his wrist, wanting to pull loose but achieving nothing.
It’s so pitiful that he ignores the effort. Using his remaining hand to continue what he’d set out to do. Planting his tip at your unprepped entrance, he wasted no time before surging forward.
Your vision starts to spot, and your hands grow weak, barely hanging on.
“That’s good. Lie still and take it,” he groans—his lips on your cheek as he bullies through your dry walls, only aided by his spit. “And I might consider once’ enough.”
You don’t have a choice, feeling your body go numb. He picks your thigh up over his hip and drives deeper—starting a steady pace without letting go of your throat, squeezing the life out of you. Your hands finally drop, lying limp, and still, you feel it deep within—the thrusting as he beats your sorry cunt into an aching mess, then fills you up with awful warmth.

Xiao's Lust | Xiao x Female Reader 18+
Xiao's had about enough. He wants you. Now.
Warnings: smut, explicit content, please be 18+ to read.
***
He kissed you. His grip on your thigh told you how much he’d been wanting you, how much he’d been holding himself back. Up until now every kiss of yours had brought him pain. Every kiss of yours unveiled a layer of desire so deep, his centuries of existence felt infinitesimal in comparison. All these sides of himself he’d ignored for so long. You made him remember them all. You made him realize a love within himself that was larger than the universe...
*** Xiao's Longing
Xiao was feeling… restless.
He’d told himself time and time again, that he wasn’t into that human stuff. Emotions like desire, and lust didn’t plague him.
But he had this crazy urge to pin you to the floor and devour you like the sweet treat you were.
Ugh. Such thoughts of you lying underneath him were harassing his day. The more they hounded him, the more he wanted to take it out on you for making him have these thoughts. The next time he saw you, he wasn’t sure what he would do. Plus, you were such a tease. It was almost like you didn’t realize he was still a man underneath all that Yaksha. Sure, he did a good job of putting up a front, but still…
“Xiao…”
There you were again.
He had gone out for a walk to clear his head and happened to run into you, the very reason he needed to clear his head in the first place. He supposed it was his fault for choosing the streets of Liyue Harbor to settle his thoughts, but he had the feeling he would’ve run into you no matter where he went. You were looking so good, and so oblivious too, which made it worse. Why was he the only one standing here burning up like a forest fire, while you looked so happy-go-lucky as usual? He wanted to rip you away from this crowd and take you right—
Xiao’s gloved hand clenched upon his arm.
“Did you hear what I said, Xiao?”
Oh, it seemed you were talking to him.
“Why do you make me feel this way?” he said, doing his best to speak through gritted teeth. “It’s so—frustrating.”
“What?”
“Never mind,” he said, relaxing to the moment at last. “What is it?”
“Oh, uhm.. Childe and Zhongli invited us to their place for dinner tonight. Did you want to go..?” A blush had come to your cheeks. It was starting to dawn on you the hidden implications behind Xiao’s random outburst.
Xiao decided to take advantage of the moment and the way he was feeling. “Again? There’s always something. It’s like these people never run out of invitations. When will I get some alone time with you?”
Right. That’s all Xiao really wanted. The reason behind his frustration. Ever since you’d proclaimed your feelings for each other—no—ever since you’ve known each other practically, you’ve always been caught up in something. Always helping someone out or going to the next event. He loved that about you, your social nature (though he didn’t understand it himself) was something he’d come to appreciate. But it was dawning on him now, never had he had any real, honest alone time with you.
No wonder he was going crazy.
“I want you. Tonight. Let me take you out, properly. I mean… I am your man, I should have priority.” He grabbed onto your arm as he said it. The little action was the most he could do to restrain all these feelings he was holding back.
“Oh, of course…” you were surprised by Xiao’s sudden show of dominance. Little to say it thrilled you. Despite his restraint, you could feel his frustration in his grip.
You never had anything against spending alone time with Xiao, of course, it’s just he’d never shown any interest. But this, this was new…
“Good,” he said. “Be ready. I’ll pick you up at 7. Dress nice. Or however you do.”
***
You loved the vigilant Yakhsa. That much was sure. And he loved you. The connection you experienced was unlike any other. It went deeper than the roots of Teyvat. It transcended all dimensions, all layers of time, all experiences. Your love was a truth that would stand, even if everything around you shattered into illusion.
But there was one thing you were always not so sure about…
“Yakshas. I mean, he’s basically like a god, right? Do they..? Do they have the same pleasures that humans do? I’m not sure. It feels like..”
You were talking with your friend Beidou. The pirate had docked for lunch and you called her over for an emergency meeting before your date with Xiao. As you played over the situation in your head your cheeks flushed, and you rambled on.
The reliable pirate put her steady hands on your shoulders. “Slow down,” she said. “What you’re telling me is that you haven’t done the deed yet? And how long have you been dating now?”
You explained the situation, including how Xiao was acting today.
Beidou let out a boisterous laugh. “Haha! Sounds like he has the hots for sure. So? Are you ready for it?”
“I don’t know… I thought I was, but facing the reality of it... I’m terrified! I feel like a schoolgirl about to lose her virginity!”
She laughed again. “Well let me know how it goes. Even I’m curious to know what’s up with those adepti. That would be an interesting tale to tell at sea for sure.”
Ignoring that, you said goodbye to your friend and proceeded to head back to your lodgings to get ready, your confusion still rumbling in your head. If it were anyone else, any other man, you’d know for sure his words came with the usual implications. But this was Xiao, did he even…
I want you. Tonight.
Did that mean…? Did he mean..?”
No. You couldn’t imagine it. You had, of course, on many occasions, but you couldn’t actually picture the vigilant Yaksha giving into his desires. I mean, he was so… vigilant. You could totally picture him coldly saying, “We don’t need to do that,” not realizing how he would actually hurt you in the process. That was why you’d never made the first move yourself. That type of rejection from Xiao would rip you in two.
Xiao was never intentionally mean or cold, as you learned the more you got to know him, that was just his way of putting up boundaries that no one could cross, so he wouldn’t face the guilt of having something he didn’t believe he deserved. It was different with you. Slowly but surely he was letting you in. But still, there were still some topics you were afraid to touch.
But then… why did he sound so serious when he said it? And why did he look so… frustrated? As if he was holding himself back from doing some very dangerous things. You’d have to find out when the Yaksha came to pick you up for your very overdue alone time.
***
It was getting worse. With the confirmed date, Xiao was about ready to explode.
Why did he settle on a time? He wanted you this instant. He should’ve just pulled you aside and—
Enough. He had to get serious about this. He wanted to take you out properly like you deserved. But what could he plan at such a last minute? He was never good at this sort of stuff. You were always the one surprising him. Not to mention, he would have to pick someplace where the two of you wouldn’t be bothered. If you went to any of the nice, expected places, you were sure to run into someone who would want to have something to do with you. It’d be best to go to a place with no people. But was there such a place that matched your brilliance?
He finally settled on an idea. It wasn’t spectacular enough, as he realized nothing would when compared to the brightness you’d brought into his life. But at least it would be something. A first step. And then tonight, he could… he could...
His cheeks flushed. His heart drummed against his chest. The vigilant Yaksha was about to do something he hadn’t done in a long time.
***
You got ready, dressing in a little bit fancier version of your usual traveling clothes, then waited for Xiao at the outskirts of Liyue Harbor, at the rock where you watched fireworks together the year the vigilant Yaksha entered your life. He never specified a location to pick you up, but Xiao had this special way of finding you.
“You’re here.”
Despite your confirmed relationship status, Xiao had this way of sounding surprised every time you followed up on a promise with him.
You turned to the warm sound of his voice, and as usual, your heart surprised you with the amount that it could feel.
Xiao stood there, with an innocent, vulnerable glow in his beautiful amber eyes. The evening all of a sudden felt very warm, the air around you picked up the scent of roses.
Xiao held out his hand. “And you look wonderful. As always.”
You took his hand gladly. “Where are we going?”
“You’ll see.”
Xiao whisked you away. His efficient Yaksha ways of transport always caught you off guard, and you found yourself dizzy upon landing.
Once your head caught around you found yourself on the top of Mount Aocang.
In the middle of the sunset-lit setting was a table, romantically decorated and set up with the finest display of cuisines.
“I wanted to take you somewhere I was certain we wouldn’t be disturbed. Cloud retainer is looking out for us. She promised not to intrude. I had chef Yanxiao prepare all your favourite meals for you, as well as a few surprises I thought you’d like.”
“It’s… it’s perfect. Thank you, Xiao.” You turned to thank him.
His cheeks flushed. He avoided your direct gaze. “Afterwards, I thought… we could go back to my room at Wangshu. I’m afraid even this isn’t enough alone time for me.” He bravely met your eyes.
Your heart accelerated when you saw the meaning in them.
“S-sure,” you said.
Eating was difficult. You wanted to relax and enjoy the meal but ever since Xiao brought up his room, your heart was pounding like a deranged moth trapped inside a batting cage.
You kept looking at Xiao for more hints of what he planned for the evening, but his usual stoic face was displaying no signs of his earlier frustration.
You decided you were overthinking things and were beginning to relax when Xiao’s gloved hand found your thigh.
“I hope this is enough,” he said with a warm squeeze. “I apologize for the rush. It’s just… I want you to know how I feel about you. More than anything. That’s why tonight is important.” You could see all the loving in his eyes as he gazed at you. You were certain, were it not for that amber gaze holding you in place, you would’ve fallen right off the edge of Mount Aocang.
“Xiao..” you wanted to lean forward and kiss him.
He looked down at your plate, then smirked and sat back. “Eat up. I will exercise my patience while you finish your meal. But after that, I’m afraid I won’t be able to hold myself back anymore.”
There was only one thing he could mean by that.
Your hand trembled as you attempted to finish off the rest of your meal.
When did the Yaksha get so bold?
***
When you finally got to the inn Xiao stepped inside his room for a moment to set things up.
Outside, the cool of the night was getting inside the sleeves of your blouse, tickling up goosebumps on your skin. You looked out at the hills of Tevyat, breathing in the sweet smell of Silk flowers in the distance. Would tonight mark a significant turning point in your existence?
Xiao opened the door.
You jumped. You were already feeling hot with thoughts of him.
“Sorry about that, I had to fix up a few things. You can come in now.”
Nervous, your heart pounding as fast as a getaway train, you stepped inside.
The room was gorgeous.
Xiao had lit candles all along the lengths of the walls, something you were sure would’ve been a fire hazard, but in the yaksha’s care was nothing to be worried about. There were qingxin petals on the floor, lifting the room with a light sweet scent. But the most intoxicating thing was the smell of Xiao that radiated warmly over everything.
This was where the Yaksha spent his time when he wasn’t slaying demons. It felt so intimate. If you could bet, he’d probably never let anyone in here before.
In the middle of it all was his bed. King-sized, with white sheets that seemed to glow angelically in the muted candle-lit space.
“I meant what I said earlier, about not being able to hold back…” Xiao approached you. Touching you very delicately at first, he found your waist, his other hand tucking a strand of loose hair behind your ear. “I have a bath prepared for you if it gets too much.”
Your knees squeezed together at his touch. Xiao still hadn’t outright expressed it, but there was no denying what he meant now.
He gazed upon you like a painting in a museum, his eyes not holding back their desire as they trailed up and down your body.
Xiao wanted you.
A smirk came to his lips. He exhaled a breath that you felt on your skin.
“You should know, this is not in my usual repertoire of things. But, well… you’ve awakened some things in me.”
“Xiao..”
“I don’t know how it will be. For us Adeptus, engaging in these things can get sort of intense. Our power transmutes to the sexual realm of course. If I’m not able to stop myself…”
“Please Xiao, you should know by now. I can handle anything.”
His hand squeezed on your arm. “Can you?” he said, a tease edging into his sincere voice.
He pulled you in close to him. Then he kissed you. Delicately. Gently. Seductively. It was a kiss that promised more. So much more.
You melted into it.
“Ah, I’ve been wanting this for so long…” He gripped the back of your head and kissed you deeper.
You gasped into his lips. Your knees were driving into each other. It was all you could do not to explode with the tension.
His arm slipped behind your waist, locking you against his hard body. His fingers dug into your hip bone, causing you to yelp with the sensation.
When you pulled away your cheeks were flushed. A trail of saliva dripped between you.
It was just one kiss, but it had sent your body on a whirlwind trip through the mountains. You were heating up fast. You both wanted each other so bad.
Xiao saw the look in your eyes and practically dragged you toward the bed.
He threw you onto the covers, his kisses getting more intense, his tongue digging deep into your mouth.
You tangled your tongue with his, gasping as his fingers tickled your neck.
His free hand traveled down your body and pinned your hips to the bed. You gasped again. His lips traveled to your neck and decorated it with deep kisses.
You groaned, your legs clenching, you desired all of him this instant.
“Did I say it?” he said. “How I want to show you how I feel?” His voice was like honey butter. You were so in love with it. It just made you want him even more.
You surrendered into the bed and allowed yourself to be kissed by him.
“Xiao—”
You couldn’t take it anymore. You reached up and bit his lips.
He hissed, his grip clenching on your hip. You could feel him shaking, an earthquake of desire above you.
“You—you’ll pay for that.” He tore at your clothes.
The fabric ripped easily in his ravenous grip.
Xiao tossed your ripped garments to the side and looked down at you.
A feral noise came from his throat that even he couldn’t control. He took to your neck again, then began traveling down your bare body.
“Ah—god M/C, you’re so beautiful… I could enjoy you all day.” He sucked on your nipple, turning it hard in his mouth, then made his way down to your belly button, leaving wet, sparkling kisses along the way.
He felt outside the fabric of your panties. “You know, I always wondered what you felt like,” he said.
You arched your back as Xiao slipped his fingers inside, feeling your wetness.
He played around with the inside of you, then slipped his fingers up to your clit, where he rubbed a slow, wet circle.
Xiao smirked. “I thought about picking up some lube, but it seems you’re wet enough on your own.”
“Xiao..” you grab at him, fingers clawing into his shoulders, dragging him up. “Do me. Do what you’ve been wanting to do with me.”
“Ah.. are you ready?”
You nodded impatiently and reached down to his crotch.
He was hard against the soft loose fabric of his pants. You tugged at them. With his help, you relieved his body of its entrapments.
You felt the wetness between your legs growing as his naked body leaned above you.
His naked body was like a sculpture. You’d been teased in the past by the way his tight clothing hung to his abs. You’d thought you’d had an idea of how sexy he was, but seeing him up close like this was a whole other level.
You felt down the hard surface of his body, then reached for his exposed fuck device.
His dick was smooth, you ran your fingers up his base, then played with the sensitive surface of his tip. He was already dripping precum. You brought your finger to your mouth and tasted it.
“M/C—” he gasped, losing all control at your touch. Despite how tough he played it, you knew, it had been years, maybe even decades since anyone had touched him down there.
You had him. Even the strongest Yaksha wouldn’t be able to resist the pleasure.
You felt his girth in the palm of your hand.
With a quick intake of breath, Xiao grabbed your hand and pulled it away, pinning it to the bed.
“If you want it—that badly—” He adjusted himself on top of you, then desperately guided his dick toward your entrance. He shifted around, feeling for your opening. “—then I’ll have to show you—how I feel…”
He entered you.
Fireworks flashed before your eyes. You felt your stomach in your throat as his length filled you.
You opened your legs wider for him.
The moans that escaped his mouth were so raw—so natural.
He shifted his hips, entering you deeper, letting out a grunt.
You felt your energies merging, you felt all of him—his depth, his intensity, his karma—his passion that went so deep it threatened to drown you.
You tried to moan his name but the sound came out choked. You were overloaded with the fullness of him.
His hand clenched the bedsheets beside your head, the cords in his arm pulsing. “Is it—okay?” he asked.
“Mm—” you bit your lip, he was flooding you with a fire. You could see him holding back for your sake, you wanted him to know you could handle it. “Yes,” you gasped. Your eyes telling him, you would.
“G-good.”
He started slowly. Thrusting into you with a melodic rhythm.
“Oh god…” he moaned. The crease between his brow was trembling, his eyes squeezed in pleasure. “M/C, I…”
He collapsed forward, thrusting into you faster. He rasped into your chest until a rhythm took hold he could no longer control.
He fucked you harder. Deeper. Each thrust sent a hurricane through your body.
You moaned and writhed under him.
“M/C,” his voice was raw, he was on the verge of tears. “You feel so good, it’s not even fair.”
You squeezed him with your legs.
You made him realize a love within himself that was larger than the universe. If his love for you was this real, this deep, he shouldn’t be allowed to have it. Yet here he was, fucking you—feeling the warm wetness of you around his dick, finding himself wanting more and more of you, finding the back of his head tingling as he indulged the pleasure, wanting to dive even further into his love. If you were really all his and there was nothing he could do about it, he would make damn sure to surpass your expectations.
He devoured every inch of your being as he fucked you even harder. Then with a surge of confidence, he spread your legs apart and hiked your hips off the bed, holding you up with his pure strength. He drove into you, this new angle allowing him to access deeper parts of you.
You moaned. It was so pleasurable for him to hear.
Sweat drenched his body, but he didn’t care. He would show you what it meant to be one of the world’s strongest Yakshas. You said you could handle it, after all.
He pushed himself past his limits of stamina. He flipped you and fucked you from all different angles. Your wild gasps and moans were like signs on a highway he was speeding down. He didn’t care how good you felt, he would make you feel better.
All the while his dick was alive with sensations. Each thrust sent a wave of pleasure through his shaft that was unlike anything he’d experienced. He gripped your thighs tighter. He wanted to throw his head back and cry out.
You felt so fucking good. He didn’t know something so simple, so human could feel this amazing.
You were so warm, so wet, so...
God, he couldn’t fuck you hard enough.
He’d felt his orgasm the minute he entered you but had been holding it off this whole time. Now it pulsed and raged against his dick, begging to be let out.
Fuck… he wanted to…
He gripped your head.
“Xiao—deeper,” you moaned.
Oh, gods that almost made him come. His whole body was trembling as he fought off the orgasm.
S-so… good…
“More—?” he panted. His voice was raw, his throat hoarse.
You whimpered. Giving your answer in the lacerations you clawed into his back.
He bit his tongue and fucked you past his limits.
“Oh god M/C, I’m going to—” He couldn’t hold it any longer.
The milky-sweet orgasm surged up and out of his dick.
He pulled out of you just in time and ejaculated all over your body.
His cum was wet and sticky.
He remained above you for a few moments as the orgasm still took hold of his body.
His brain tingled.
You stroked his softening dick gently. Even that felt good.
“M/C…” he panted. “I’ll clean up. Wait there.”
He went to fetch a towel, and when he came back you were lying there on the bed, cheeks pink and hot, looking at him with red love in your eyes. You were so beautiful. Gosh he was so grateful to have you.
His heart clenched as he cleaned you up.
You reached out and stroked his arm. “Xiao,” you said, “I love you.”
“M/C… I love you too. More than you could ever know.” He leaned forward and kissed you. Then the two of you fell back onto the bed, your cooling bodies quickly finding each other.
As Xiao lay there, he realized the truth of the sentence. There was no way you could know. Nothing on the physical plane of existence would allow him to transmute all these feelings he felt toward you. There would be many more nights of him showing you how he felt before you would begin to grasp the depths of his love for you.
That was alright. He smiled to himself. This was a challenge he was more than willing to take on. Even if it was impossible, he would never stop showing you how much he loved you. Even if it took all of eternity for you to finally understand.

NSFW, 18+ only Plz~
Summary: a few vendors are at Wangshu Inn hoping to sell their goods. You decide to go down and have a look. Xiao is quietly watching you atop his spot at Wangshu Inn. A foreign feeling comes to his chest seeing another man touch you. What is this feeling?
Pairing: Xiao x Female Reader
Warning:jealous/possessive Xiao, lots of lewd biting, little bit of blood, unprotected sex, and some swearing. (This is like… so much smut w/ fluff)
Word Count:6K (again, how tf is it so long?!)
Enjoy~
Sharp inhuman ears could hear the sounds of your beautiful and pure laughter from afar. It put the yaksha’s stony heart at ease knowing that you were safe and sound, but it also gripped it like a vice whenever he found out that another man was the cause of your laughter. His perch on Wangshu Inn gave him a perfect view down below, where you were talking to a rather tall man about some of the items he was selling in his booth. Your smile was directed towards him, his hands coming slightly behind your back to urge you to look closer at the items he had to offer. Your smile had only faltered in the slightest, your discomfort clear from your body language. The yaksha did not take too kindly to this gesture. He began to feel a foreign feeling bubble in his chest, it was a feeling he did not appreciate and did not know how to get rid of. He teleported down to the venue area of Wangshu Inn, quickly approaching you and the vendor.

❛ theme song | in the stars — benson boone ❜

There's an infamous tale amongst the Adventurers recently, the traveler heard of it too from Zhongli; Someone must have scared the renowned Adeptus for him to stop visiting Wangshu Inn. Words according to Verr Goldet.
It sounds ridiculous and downright outrageous of a story, but it's been the top gossip in Liyue even before the traveler arrived, it most likely holds a bit of truth behind.
The Adeptus himself is mostly perturbed about the fictions circulating his existence, and it's strange to think it feels more like a cycle that happens once in a few years similar to the festivals that Liyue celebrates.
"So you're saying that rumor is just another fan fiction? There has to be some truth behind that story, right? Paimon finds it hard to believe otherwise."
The traveler merely agreed with the fae. Zhongli himself retold the story to them, if there's any storyteller they trust the most, there's no better candidate than the consultant.
"I hold no restriction over what you believe, but do mind what you hear before taking everything into account. It could be a hoax."
A whiff of air suddenly blew past the traveler and a new person came face to face with the Vigilant, the traveler couldn't distinguish their features as they were facing their back.
"You wound me, Xiaoboo. I thought we had something."
In contrast of their words, they sound jovial, even sounding like they're just teasing the Adeptus for their own form of amusement.
Paimon gasped in both shock and astonishment while Xiao plastered disgusted and sour look, not everyone has the guts to do that. "You again, Y/N. Thanks to you, my day has been ruined." Then, he vanished in cloud of green smoke quicker than you came.
"And he's gone. When will I ever talk to him properly?" You muttered as you whip around to meet the traveler you've heard so much about. You pleasantly beamed a smile on their way and introduced yourself. "My name's Y/N L/N, feel free to call me Y/N."
"Xiao. . .boo?" Paimon echoed.
If Xiao has no morals to hold as an Adeptus they wonder how many mortals can come out unscathed after calling the Conqueror of Demons with a preposterous nickname. Paimon bets everyone.
"Oh that?" You briefly chuckled, "it's what I call him. I personally cringe with my own doing, but it's worth every cringe to see him with his twisted look of disgust."
A light bulb flicked on. "Are you perhaps the so-called person who scares off Xiao during his frequent visits in Wangshu Inn?"
"Ha! Not bad, you're quick for a little girl." Paimon pouted at your words. "First, Paimon got called emergency food, now as a little girl
The traveler spoke, "What do they mean by scaring him off? It's hard to believe something can scare Xiao, let alone a mortal."
As a response, you merely shot them a chesire grin. "What can I say? I'm pretty awesome for a human."
"No, if you can scare off Xiao then you're scarier than any demons."
Paimon visibly shuddered and promptly warped in her pocket dimension in fear of incuring your bad side.
The Traveler's thoughts couldn't have been more right when they saw you fought off a hilichurl camp on your own. You're not an adventurer like Paimon assumed, you told them you're a travelling merchant near Wanmin Restaurant.
How you fought effortlessly is beyond them. They mostly see you trying to hunt down Xiao to annoy the heck out of him and bring every known misfortune in his life. As if he hasn't had enough of them.
"How do you keep finding me?" A snarl rumbled in Xiao's chest as he glares underneath his mask, it's amazing how expressive his annoyance toward you that no layers can obscure it.
As usual, your lopsided grin is ever present, it never fails to tick off the veins in his forehead. "Why are you so bad at hiding? I wouldn't be able to find you if you're decently good at it."
"A warrior never hides." He riposted.
"Then you don't need hide from me, I don't bite."
"I have more important things to accomplish than mingle with mortals." He scoffed, finding your words audacious as he prepares himself to teleport away.
"Hold on!" Your fingers pinched the hem of his sleeve, it was so feeble he'd laugh at your attempt to stop him from leaving. But that wasn't the case. On a stranger's standpoint, it might be.
Excluding your intolerable attitude toward him, you haven't done anything discomfited that'll warrant his wrath.
He had seen a handful of mortals being too friendly for his comfort and while not most of the humans dare try to make unintentional physical contact with him, you've never invaded his personal bubble, except the times you close the space between him, but Xiao can tolerate that much so long as it doesn't involve touching.
It's almost as if. . . you know how much he abhors being too physical, especially to people he's not personally acquainted, and you're trying your best not to stir queasy feeling in him.
Just like now, barely holding onto his clothes even with how desperate you look under his mask. He doesn't want to believe you're looking out for him, you're just an annoying human he has to protect. Everything is simpler that way.
"What is it now?" He grumbled out.
A ghost smile etched your lips. "Give me a chance to prove myself."
Even beneath his mask, you could see the furrowed eyebrows of bafflement. "What. . .? I don't need you to prove something, take off your filthy hands right this instant."
And you retracted your hand faster than he eliminates hilichurls, he should be grateful you listened, he should be.
"I'm talking about us. You may think I'm annoying you for the fun of it, and mostly I am," he glared menacingly as you continue, "but I genuinely want to be close to you. So, give me a chance to be your partner, I promise it'll be worthwhile, Xiao."
He almost reeled back. "What do you mean by partner?" He spat the word as if poison in his tongue. You meekly smiled, "I mean it the way you're thinking. I like you, Xiao. I've liked you since the first day we met, so I'm seizing this chance to confess to you."
"No." He bites back in a low tone, the rejection came too quickly for his liking, but your expression remains unchanging as if you're expecting this answer from him yet you still tried.
"I don't think you understand the gravity of what you're doing, human. No matter how benign your intentions are, I have no time to deal with sentiments you mortals value so much." You scrutinize the way his shoulders sagged and the way his posture stiffened.
"I'd advice you to terminate those feelings I can't reciprocate." Those were his last words before he vanished, leaving you hanging
Xiao's callous exterior can make him appear aloof but deep down, you know he is a gentle soul who is curious about humanity, but is hesitant to show that side of himself due to his past experiences and his karma-ridden constitution.
A rueful sigh escaped your lips as you walk away. "Your name may have changed, but you're still the same as before, Alatus."
In his hundred or maybe thousand years of living, he hasn't seen someone with so much pride and hubris as you, it's almost worth complimenting if it wasn't for your annoying constant advances.
"Hey, Xiaoboo. Do you want to go eat Almond Tofu with me?"
"No." He's not even gonna reprimand you with the nickname.
"Huh? You don't want Almond Tofu? I heard that's your favorite."
"Eating with you makes it bitter and sour. I rather eat alone."
"Mean! How about I help you fight off the hilichurls?"
"I don't need to." He's not gonna teleport away. It's basically useless
"Aww! Let's just do a commission together!"
"I'm busy." Why is he even entertaining you?
"When will you be free from the Yaksha duties?"
"Yes."
". . . Is that even the appropriate answer?"
"I don't know."
"OK? How about helping the traveler with their quest?"
"Like I said, I'm busy." Why do you keep pestering him?
"I guess I'll just accompany you until you're unbusy."
He pinched the bridge of his nose and chose to remain silent, surprisingly you didn't ask anymore irritating queries that'll strip away a decade of his lifespan. He walks on rooftops and quietly watch the mortals interact with each other.
While you on the other hand kept a heedful eye on him. "Do you enjoy meandering in this type of setting?" Xiao's eyebrows perched in astonishment with how deliberately low your voice has gotten, it's infinitely better than you being raucous earlier.
He took awhile to answer. "I do, especially at night when stars are present. Though, it's not the same as before." You hummed in response, tailing his steps and look over the busy streets.
I think I know why.
"Liyue has changed so much over the years." He shot an eye glance at you, it's not even a question, you spoke as if you've experienced the drastic change yourself.
"Say, what do you fight for?"
"What?"
"You heard me."
". . ."
Everyone knows very well the Vigilant Yaksha fights against the darkness that threatens Liyue.
"You fight to defend Liyue. But who will defend you?"
His breath caught up in his throat and his sight blurred. He feels like hiding away, but he would be a hypocrite to do so when he told you himself that he never hides. A long forgotten memory flashed in his mind and it's making him feel vulnerable to be in front of you.
"If you fight those monsters to defend us then I will fight back to defend you!"
"Don't you have better things to do?" He sighed, pretending to not hear what you said before finally skidding to a stop and sat down, and you followed his suit.
"Life's boring without your different expressions, I prefer spending it like that." Either you let him slid or you couldn't be bothered to care for his real answer.
He fought the urge to roll his eyes. "I don't."
"Of course you don't. You're the victim here, Xiaoboo."
"I'm close in impaling my polearm in your mouth."
You faux a gasp. "Kinky! Just the way I like it."
"You!" He really is close in summoning his weapon to eliminate you. You quickly raise your arms in defense. "OK! OK! Man, you really don't know the word 'chill', do you?"
He merely glowered from beneath his mask, and you pride yourself for deciphering his emotions like this.
"Eh? Why are you not biting back? It's what you're usually good at." His forehead ceased at that. "I'm not a dog. I know better to conserve my energy than to deal with you."
You scrutinize his posture and decided against your better judgement to tease him further. A moment later, he spoke in a low tone you barely could hear. "Why do you like me?"
The corners of your mouth quirked up, it was rather unfortunate he didn't bare to witness the fond look you plastered as you thought of your answer.
"Why wouldn't I?"
Pfft! Of course, you always don't give him a definite answer.
"Do you think you're unworthy of love? Is that why you—"
A scornful look marred his face as he took off his mask to let you see his displeasure of you. "Stop poking your nose in my business, mortal. I'll be upfront, I don't like you, not now nor ever. The only reason I'm tolerant to your incessant teasing is my duty as an Adepti, don't mistaken it as pathetic mortal feelings."
He rose up to his feet and you mimicked his movements. He half expects you to sigh and admit defeat, or perhaps you'll continue teasing him for your own amusement to avoid the awkwardness.
"Is it really just my attitude I have many negative points to you?" You blocked his view of the streets and gaze directly to his eyes to see any contradictory glint that his words don't compensate for.
You're not even slightly mad at his blunt rejection, your eyebrows furrowed in concentration as if you're ready to change yourself for a better review from him. And that thought absolutely disgust him.
A sudden headache nearly reeled him backwards while you blinked at him in bafflement. "I have to go." He murmured, quickly dispersing in thick cloud of green smoke.
Unbeknownst to him how you snickered, "That's the first time I've heard you bid farewell to me. I'll take that as an achievement."

"Hey, Xiao. Have you seen Y/N?" Paimon and her travelling buddy have been searching for you and they could only think of you gluing yourself to Xiao. Even the question stunned the Yaksha.
Now that he thinks of it, he hasn't seen you in literal days.
"Weird, they're usually flocking around you. . ." Paimon mumbled.
"Why do you need to see them? Is it important?" Xiao queried, crossing his arms and leaning against the tree.
The traveller spoke, "We're departing in Liyue now and they agreed to come with us in Inazuma."
Xiao's eyes narrowed. "Why would they go with you?"
"Uh. . . Well, Y/N told us they have some business to do in Inazuma and thought they could come with us." The traveller locked eyes with Paimon as if telepathically conversing.
"I haven't seen them, not that I care." He bitterly spat out and vanished before they could even blink.
"Hmph! Paimon gets that he doesn't like Y/N but he could at least show a bit of concern of their well-being."
An enigmatic smile spread across the traveler's face, finding Paimon's words lacking of deduction. "He is concern, Paimon. He prefers to show in other ways that he thinks we can't perceive, you know how corralled he tends to be in his feelings."
"But we haven't seen Y/N since last week! Don't you think he's too guarded to even care?" Her whines only intensified. "We should find Y/N above anything instead of criticizing Xiao."
"This reminds Paimon when Ganyu went missing last time. Do you think Y/N went to Jueyun Karst, too?" She might be onto something. "I don't know, we can check it out."
On the other side of Liyue, the Vigilant Yaksha paced in restlessness as he convinced himself he doesn't care for a mere mortal who suddenly went missing in action. Who is he kidding but himself?
This effect you have on him just makes him want to obey Morax's last wish as an Archon; to leave Liyue if he so desires
Why? Shouldn't he be glad you're off somewhere he can't be bothered anymore? Why is he itching to make sure you're not a snack for those monsters?
Maybe it's in his blood to protect Liyue citizens. Yeah, that could be it. He was hellbent in fulfilling the contract with Morax that it has been imprinted in his blood to protect.
"A troubled look does not suit you, Xiao. Mortals and enemies alike usually expressed it towards you, not the other way around." Zhongli perched an eyebrow when the Adeptus made no sign he's mentally present for a conversation.
When was the last time he's witnessed Xiao so distracted?
Oh, he might have an idea why and knows exactly what to do.
Feeling mischievous and experimental. "Is that Y/N over there?"
Quicker than Raiden's lightning, his head whipped around to look at where Zhongli must be pointing at. Only to narrow his eyes back and meekly glared at the former Archon who quietly chuckled.
"An apathetic look is always stagnant in your face. You must be missing them for your expression to abruptly change."
"I do not miss them." He scoffed at the audacity of the late Archon to assume such things only mortals would do.
"Oh? Then why must you be embarrassed? Your cheeks are flaming red, Xiao. That's the first." By this point, a full blown smile is marring Zhongli's lips, he didn't think he'd be alive to see the day Xiao would be embarrassed at getting caught for caring.
"Are you two secretly spending time? You're awfully having fun teasing me like them." The green-head crossed his arm and huffed. "I do not even know what they look like, Xiao."
". . ."
"Are you not worried where they might be?"
"I. . . Uhh. . ." A rueful sigh escaped him, he should be able to deny a lot of things regardless of whoever he's speaking, all except for Zhongli. Xiao knows there's no point of lying with him, but it's difficult to deny that he's indeed worried when he's lying to his self.
Sensing his inner turmoil, Zhongli spoke. "Xiao, I am not asking you as an Archon who's expecting a report for my citizen's well-being."
The Adeptus froze in his steps. "I am asking as Zhongli, a consultant who's concerned for his friend. Similar if you're worried for the mortal, worry as their friend, not as an Adeptus on duty."
He may be posing as a mortal, but his observation is that of an Archon. Xiao can't really lie to him in both verbal and nonverbal.
Zhongli watches how his resolve is slowly melting. He's clearly conflicted and his corralled nature makes it even more difficult for him to discover his true feelings and be open about it. The consultant wants nothing more but to help him do exactly that.
"I'm not their friend. All they do is annoy me and I return it with every glares known in history. Do you see the limitations? We were never friends and I can only be worried as an Adeptus on duty."
"But you do want them to be your friend."
". . ." The implications were clear, Xiao just needs a little push.
"Don't sell everything short with shortsighted beliefs, Xiao. You don't want them to be close to you because of immortality, the thought of being left behind by a person with counted years needs to be out of your head. Yes, you'll be receiving the agony of having a precious friend, but life is all about opportunities. Don't limit yourself for the future and cherish whatever's in the present."
A familiar pang of heartache flooded his mind. He used to think like that, he used to have the same principles when it comes to life, but it all went down the drain when he couldn't protect those he loved and was left begging on his knees for whoever is hearing his prays.
🎶 I'm screaming at a god I don't know if I believe in 🎶
Those actions only costed him more torment for an evil god had gotten a hold of his vulnerability and he was forced to perform cruel and violent acts. It changed his views.
His past of service under the evil god had rid of his innocence and gentleness. All that remained within him was the means to kill and weight of his sins. He's no longer Alatus. He's Xiao, the Adepti.
🎶 'Cause I don't know what else I can do 🎶
"I know." He meekly whispered, all the strength to push back the thought of you crumbled into dust. "On a surface level, Y/N appears to be nothing short of a troublemaker, but they're more than that. I want to be closer and get to know them but. . . I don't want history to repeat itself. You can relate to that as much as I do."
A forlorn countenance marred Zhongli, reminiscing the memories of his late comrades. "I certainly do. However, I never pushed any opportunities to live a worthwhile present, and look where I am."
"No need to slap that in my face." He grumbled, he was more conflicted than he was before. Zhongli merely shakes his head as he chuckled, preparing to bid farewell.
"All I wish is for your happiness, Xiao. I hope you find it in any way, shape and form. When I heard about this Y/N and their incorrigible knack for mischief, I couldn't help but think they've made your life. . . enlivened. Therefore, I anticipated a new couple to grace Liyue, but alas, at the end of the day it's still your choice to make to either live with content or live in regret."
A free therapy session with Zhongli is certainly more baffling. Do those mourning mortals went in this process with Zhongli's consultation? He doesn't want to descry. He only wants to know where you went to put his mind at ease.
The traveller had to go in Inazuma after a few hours of searching and relayed a message to Xiao if ever you return. It wasn't accepted without a glowering Xiao.
His day got even worse when he had to subdue hoards of monsters while losing his mind thinking of your whereabouts and your safety. Who are you to plague his mind? Why can't he stop his train of thoughts about you?
The only person who owns his heart and mind had been long dead ever since, and that was F/N. His first and last lover.
🎶 I'm still holding on to everything that's dead and gone 🎶
"L-Look, Alatus. The stars are shining for us."
"They're shining for you, love."
🎶 I don't wanna say goodbye cause this one means forever 🎶
Xiao bolts awake, perspiration accumulated on his forehead and temples. It was midnight, the moon embalmed with pride and the scintillating stars blanketed the inky night as he searches his area for anything that can keep his mind afloat.
He had fallen asleep on top of Wangshu Inn, it strikes him odd to know he had let his guard down all because his mind kept replaying the worst case scenarios regarding about Y/N.
F/N's cry for help was what awoken him.
And it just had to be the time Y/N went missing.
Coincidence? I think so. He thought.
It wasn't the first time his lover plagued his nightmares, he goes on with his days and nights without resting in fear of reminiscing their death. His dreams always involved his loved ones.
His mother, father, siblings. Friends he still cares about but rarely talks to anymore. His lover he cared so much for. It's a lonely life and he knows he'll never live a normal life again. He hasn't for a long time and he's not hopeful for a change.
🎶 Now you're in the stars and six feet's never felt so far 🎶
His childhood memories were more pleasant to remember. Back when he didn't have to kill, when he still had his family, when he was still Alatus, when things were simpler.
He used to be a mischievous child, the similar description he described Y/N, but a lot more destructive and hyperactive. He was a literal nightmare to his mother.
A smile formed his lips, an unknown feeling bloomed in his chest as he kept rummaging the recesses of his once joyful childhood in his memory. Is this what Zhongli wants for him? To have someone to look back and make him smile? Well, he already has his family and F/N to remember by. Why would he need anyone else?
🎶 Here I am alone between the heavens and the embers 🎶
That's what he thinks and yet his mind betrayed him by showing an image of Y/N and him together, smiling and laughing, seemingly carefree from all the burdens of the world.
"Xiao!"
It's so tempting to make it a reality. To live a life worry free.
He had gotten used relying on himself and detached himself from feelings, for feelings are the roots of everything unkind, a ruthless grasp for anything rational and sways him from the path.
As much as he would like to keep his pride and prove himself right, he couldn't disregard the gnawing feeling in his chest. Should he accept you?
Goosebumps pattered his exposed arm while the wind blows eerily from the East, embracing him in its chilling touch.
That voice. . .

It was out of nowhere. It wasn’t something he realized bit by bit. It stroke him like a lightning. A sudden realization. It felt like the wind abruptly changing course — Y/N is F/N.
An almost inaudible poof ricocheted in the breeze, if anyone had to ask they'd be questioning the shimmering stars who were the only witness of the two lovers reuniting after centuries.

「 hold my hand, please, one last time.」
⤷ info: kazuha, albedo, aether, xiao, wanderer x gn!reader || angst, this is based on the prompt “can i hold your hand?” (or “can you hold my hand?”) || wc: 3104
⤷ warnings: death, this is v v angsty
⤷ extra: i wrote this a while ago back on soleillunne and decided that it was too good to be gone forever lmao
kazuha.
The battlefield was strewn with chaos, and amidst the clash of swords and the cries of war, Kazuha fought with all his might, his heart burdened with the weight of the lives at stake. He had hoped that his skills with the blade and mastery of the Anemo vision would be enough to protect those he held dear, but fate had other plans.
As the battle raged on, he caught a glimpse of his lover, a skilled warrior whose presence had always brought him comfort and strength, you. Your eyes met for a fleeting moment, and in that exchange, you understood each other without uttering a word. It was a silent promise that you would find each other amidst the chaos.
But the tide turned against you, and the enemy’s forces seemed endless. Despite your best efforts, the defenders were overwhelmed, and Kazuha found himself standing back-to-back with you, defending against the onslaught.
In the midst of the chaos, an arrow found its mark. Time seemed to slow as the arrow pierced through your chest, and the world around you faded into the background. Kazuha’s heart clenched in horror as he caught you, your strength waning with each passing moment.
“Kazuha,” you gasped, blood staining your lips. “Can I hold your hand?”
Tears welled up in Kazuha’s eyes as he clutched your hand tightly, trying to offer some semblance of comfort amidst the pain. “Yes, of course,” he choked out, his voice trembling with grief.
Your hand trembled in his grasp, and Kazuha could feel your life slipping away like sand through his fingers. He could do nothing but watch helplessly as the light in your eyes began to fade. You smiled weakly at him, a bittersweet expression filled with love and regret.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, your voice barely audible above the sounds of battle. “I wish… we had more time.”
“Don’t speak like that,” Kazuha pleaded, his voice breaking. “We’ll get through this. I won’t let you go.”
But you knew better, and as your strength waned, you continued to smile at him, your touch growing weaker by the second.
“I love you,” you murmured, your breath becoming shallow. “Always…”
Tears streamed down Kazuha’s cheeks as he held you close, trying to shield you from the harsh reality of the world around you. He wished he could turn back time, rewrite the events that led to this tragic moment, but life was unforgiving in its cruelty.
Your hand in his grew colder, and your breathing ceased. Your life force, once vibrant and strong, slipped away, leaving behind only a lifeless body in Kazuha’s arms.
Kazuha held your hand tightly, unable to let go, as if keeping that connection alive could somehow bring you back. He cried out in anguish, the weight of grief crashing down upon him like an unforgiving storm.
In that moment, amidst the chaos of the battlefield, Kazuha felt an emptiness he had never known before. He had lost not only a lover but a confidant, a soulmate with whom he had shared dreams, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
And as the battle raged on, Kazuha clung to your lifeless hand, lost in sorrow, with a heart that would forever bear the burden of their memory.
albedo.
Albedo’s heart pounded in his chest as he cradled his you in his arms. He was just about to descend from his lab on Dragonspine to meet up with you as he promised, only to see you laying on your own blood at the bottom of the mountain. He had seen you only hours prior, he’d laughed with you, but now, all that remained was a sea of sorrow, the bitter taste of loss overwhelming his senses.
He looked down at the face that he had cherished so dearly, now drained of all warmth and life. Your eyes, once filled with light and love, now stared back at him with a haunting emptiness. Albedo’s hands trembled, and tears welled up in his eyes, blurring his vision.
“Can you hold my hand?” a weak voice whispered, barely audible amidst the sounds of grief and despair that surrounded them. Albedo’s heart wrenched at the sound, and he quickly took your freezing hand into his own.
Tears streamed down Albedo’s cheeks as he clutched your hand tightly. “Yes, of course,” he choked out, his voice breaking with pain. “I’ll hold your hand for as long as you need, my love.”
He brought your intertwined hands to his lips and placed a tender kiss on the once-warm skin, now cold and lifeless. Memories of your time together flooded his mind – the laughter you shared, the dreams you nurtured, and the love you built with each passing day. Now, all that was left were shattered hopes and dreams.
“I’m so sorry,” Albedo whispered, his voice filled with regret and guilt. “I couldn’t protect you. I failed.”
You weakly shook your head, mustering a faint smile. “No, don’t blame yourself,” you managed to say. “You… you brought me so much happiness, Albedo. Please, don’t forget that.”
Albedo’s heart ached at the words, realizing that he had to find the strength to carry on without you. But it felt like an impossible task, as if the very essence of his being had been torn apart.
“I don’t know if I can,” he confessed, his voice trembling with sorrow. “You’re my everything.”
You fingers tightened around his hand as if trying to hold on just a little longer. “You’re strong, Albedo. Stronger than you know,” you said, your voice barely audible. “Promise me… you’ll keep going… for both of us.”
Albedo nodded, his tears falling freely now. “I promise,” he whispered, trying to keep his voice steady. “I’ll live for the both of us. But it won’t be the same without you.”
Your breaths became shallower, and Albedo knew that your life was slipping away. He leaned closer, trying to memorize every detail of your face, never wanting to forget.
“I love you,” you whispered, your words fading like a gentle breeze. “Always.”
“I love you too,” Albedo replied, his voice choked with emotion. “Always and forever.”
And with those final words, your grip on his hand slowly weakened until it was gone completely. Albedo held onto your hand a moment longer, pressing it against his heart as if trying to keep your love alive within him.
As grief consumed him, Albedo felt a mix of emotions. Sorrow, anger, and a deep longing to see his lover again, even if it were just for a moment. But he knew he had to continue, to honor your memory and the love you shared.
Albedo gently laid your body down, closing your eyes with tender care. He stood, feeling the weight of loss heavy on his shoulders, but also the weight of your love, and your belief in him, pushing him forward. Though his heart was shattered, he would carry your love with him, always.
And as he walked away from that place of sorrow, he knew that the pain would remain, but so would the memories of a love that would never truly fade away.
aether.
Aether’s heart pounded in his chest as he cradled his dying lover in his arms. The battlefield around them had turned into a chaotic canvas of destruction, but his attention was solely focused on the person he held dear. You were slipping away, and he could feel your life force fading like a waning star.
“Can you hold my hand?” you whispered, your voice barely audible amidst the cacophony of war. Aether’s eyes filled with tears, and he gently clasped your frail hand in his own, interlocking your fingers. His touch was warm, providing a sense of comfort amidst the pain.
“I’m here,” he choked out, his voice trembling. “I won’t let go.”
Your breathing was shallow, and your once-bright eyes were now dim, but you managed a faint smile. It was a bittersweet expression, as if you were trying to convey so much in that fleeting moment. Memories of you flooded Aether’s mind, from the first time you met under the starlit sky to the promises you made to each other.
“You have to promise me,” you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper, “that you’ll keep going. That you’ll find happiness again.”
Aether couldn’t find the strength to respond, his throat constricted with grief. He knew that in a world without his lover, life would lose its luster, its purpose. But he understood that you were trying to ease his pain, even in your last breaths.
“No,” he whispered, tears streaming down his cheeks, “I can’t bear to live without you. Please don’t leave. Not you too.”
You smiled again, a mixture of sadness and love in your eyes. “You are strong, Aether, and you will find the strength to carry on. I will always be with you.”
Aether’s heartache intensified, and he leaned down to press his forehead against yours. He wished he could freeze time, to hold you forever, but he knew it was slipping away like grains of sand through his fingers.
“I love you,” you said, their voice fading into a whisper.
“And I love you,” Aether replied, his voice breaking.
Your grip on his hand loosened, and Aether felt the last pulse of life slip away from you. He held onto your hand a moment longer, not wanting to let go, but eventually, he lowered it gently to your chest.
In that moment, as the world around him continued to rage with chaos, Aether felt an overwhelming emptiness inside. His lover was gone, and the pain of your absence consumed him. But he knew he had to honor your last wish—to find a way to live without you, to keep your love alive in his heart.
With tears in his eyes, Aether kissed your forehead one last time before he stood, facing the uncertain future that lay ahead. Your love would forever be his guiding light, and he would cherish every memory, every moment you had shared.
And as the battles raged on and the world continued to turn, Aether vowed to carry your love with him, a beacon of hope in the darkest of times. Though your physical presence was gone, your love would endure, a reminder that even in the face of loss, the power of love could transcend beyond the boundaries of life and death.
heizou.
Heizou knelt on the cold, damp ground, cradling your cold body in his arms. He had just returned home from work, when the last thing he expected to see was see you laying on your own blood in your shared home. He held you closer, your blood staining his hands, mingling with his own tears. His heart felt as though it had been torn apart, and the pain was almost unbearable.
The world seemed to slow down as Heizou stared into the fading eyes of his beloved. Each second felt like an eternity, and yet, it was slipping away all too quickly. He could see the struggle in your gaze, the effort it took to speak those final words.
“Can I hold your hand?” you whispered, your voice getting lower with each word.
Tears streamed down Heizou’s face, and he gently clasped your trembling hand with his own, intertwining your fingers. He felt your warmth slowly waning, and he held on tighter, as if he could somehow will life back into you with the strength of his grip.
“You don’t have to ask,” Heizou choked out, his voice breaking with sorrow. “I’ll hold your hand forever.”
You managed a faint smile, your strength visibly waning. “I… I love you,” you managed to say, your voice barely above a whisper.
“I love you too,” Heizou replied, his voice trembling. “You’re my everything, my reason for living.”
As the commotion outside your shared home began to get louder, the people having noticed the blood stains, Heizou’s focus remained solely on you. The world outside ceased to exist for him, and he poured all his love and energy into holding you, trying to be your anchor in this storm of pain and suffering.
In your last moments, you clung to each other tightly, as if afraid to let go. Heizou’s heart ached as he felt your life slipping away from him, the person who meant more to him than anything else in the world. He wished he could have done something, anything, to save you.
But in the end, all he could do was be there, holding your hand, providing them with comfort in their final moments. Heizou would carry the weight of this loss forever, the memories of you etched into his soul.
Even as people left you two alone and the world moved on, Heizou remained on that cold, damp ground, cradling the body of the one he had loved and lost, his heart forever scarred by the pain of that fateful day.
xiao.
Xiao knelt on the damp ground, his heart pounding with anguish as he cradled your shaking form in his arms. The battlefield around you was silent, the chaos of the battle having retreated, leaving behind only the echoes of suffering and loss.
Your once bright eyes, now dulled by death, stared up at him, and Xiao couldn’t bear to look away. Your hands, once intertwined in a promise of eternity, now lay limp and still. Tears welled up in his eyes, but he refused to let them fall.
“Can you hold my hand?” your voice was a faint whisper, barely audible amidst the devastation surrounding them.
Xiao’s heart shattered at those words, but he gently took your hand in his own, holding it with all the tenderness and love he had for you. “I will always hold your hand,” he choked out, his voice breaking with grief.
You managed a weak smile, the corners of your lips lifting slightly. “Even in death,” you murmured, your voice barely reaching Xiao’s ears.
“I’ll follow you anywhere, my love,” Xiao vowed, his fingers trembling as he clung tightly to the hand that was growing colder by the second. “Even to the ends of this cruel world.”
Your breathing grew fainter, and your grip on his hand loosened. Xiao felt his heartache intensify, knowing that he couldn’t change the cruel fate that had befallen you.
“Thank you… for loving me,” you whispered, your voice a mere thread of sound.
“Thank you for making my life meaningful,” Xiao replied, his voice choked with emotion. “I’m grateful for every moment we shared.”
Your eyes locked for a final time, and in that fleeting moment, a lifetime of love and memories passed between you. Xiao wished he could freeze time, to hold on to this moment forever, but life had other plans.
As the last breath left your lips, Xiao leaned down, pressing a tender kiss to your forehead. “Rest now,” he whispered, his voice breaking with sorrow. “I’ll carry you in my heart. Until we meet again.”
He remained there, holding your lifeless hand, as tears streamed down his cheeks, mingling with the blood-stained soil beneath you. Xiao knew that a part of him had died that day with his beloved, but he also knew that your love would live on, eternal and undying, no matter the circumstances.
wanderer.
Wanderer knelt on the ground, his heart pounding in his chest as he cradled you in his arms. The world around you seemed to blur, the noise of battle fading into an eerie silence. The battle had been brutal, and he had fought with all his might to protect the one he loved, but fate had dealt them a cruel hand.
Your once vibrant eyes now glistened with pain, and a weak smile graced your lips. Blood stained your clothing, and Wanderer could feel your life slipping away.
“Hey,” you whispered, your voice barely audible. “I don’t have much time, do I?”
Wanderer choked back a sob, clutching your body tightly. “Don’t talk like that. You’re going to be fine. We’ll get you help.”
A soft chuckle escaped your lips, but it quickly turned into a cough. “You can’t lie to me, my love.” you managed to say, your breath shallow.
Tears finally streamed down Wanderer’s face as he pressed his forehead against yours. “I love you,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “I’m sorry if I didn’t say it often. I can’t bear to lose you.”
You trembled in his grasp, and gazed into his eyes with a mixture of love and sadness. “Can I hold your hand?” you asked, your voice barely audible.
Wanderer nodded frantically, intertwining his fingers with yours. He held your hand close to his heart, hoping that somehow he could transfer strength to you.
“I’m scared,” you admitted, tears pooling in your eyes. “I don’t want to leave you.”
He brushed a strand of hair away from your face, his touch gentle and full of affection, reserved only for you. “You won’t have to. Just hold on a little longer, and we’ll get you help. We’ll face this together.”
Your grip tightened weakly on his hand. “You’re my light, my love, my everything,” you murmured. “You always have been. Promise me you’ll keep shining, even when I’m gone.”
Wanderer could feel whatever was left of his heart shatter with your words. “I promise,” he choked out. “But you can’t leave me. I can’t do this without you.”
Your breathing grew shallower, and your voice became softer. “You’re strong, my love,” you said. “You’ll find a way. Remember me, but don’t let my memory hold you back. Live your life to the fullest. Find happiness again.”
“I can’t imagine life without you,” he whispered, his voice trembling. “How am I supposed to go on?”
Your only response was a brief smile, and he squeezed your cold hand tightly. “I’ll never let go,” he vowed. “Not even when you’re gone.”
Your breathing slowed, and your eyes locked with his one last time. “I love you,” you whispered, your voice fading away.
“I love you too,” he whispered back, his voice cracking.
And then, with your hand still clasped in his, you were gone.
Wanderer held your lifeless form closer, his tears falling like rain. He knew that life would never be the same again, that a piece of his heart had been taken with you. But he also knew that he had to keep the promise he made. With a heavy heart, he stood, carrying your memory with him as he faced the world without you, knowing that he would always carry your love and light with him.

A Sliver of Hope - Xiao x f!reader
Summary: Xiao never should've fallen for you. He was a yaksha. You were a rice farmer. But when you catch him watching you from a distance, you don't want to let him go.
Genre: angst to fluff, angst with happy ending
Words: 2.6k
Inspired by a line Paimon said during the Perilous Trail. (This fic doesn't actually spoil the story in that quest though.)
Xiao peeks over the top of the roof, catching sight of the rice fields below. You're holding a batch of rice stalks in your hand as you bend down to sow one in the muddy water. There's a flutter in his chest as he watches you, but the weight in his stomach pulls it down. He can't be by your side.
You plant another stalk of rice and your sun hat blocks the view of your face. With a sigh, Xiao gets up and takes his spear, his arm hanging limp on his side. He should go.
He steps on a loose shingle and it falls to the ground, shattering at the foot of the door. He winces, hesitant to turn around.
"Xiao?" you say at the distance, your ears heightened by the noise. His heart clenches within him and his feet remain still. He shouldn't have come.
"Xiao!" you repeat, your feet stirring the muddy waters. Splashes become more frequent as you quicken your pace. "Wait!"
He grips his spear and the vision on his wrist begins to glow. But after the sound of your shriek and a splash reaches his ears, he teleports to your side.
Covered in mud from your fall, you blink a few times, surprised to see Xiao had picked you back up on your feet. He kneels down to inspect your knees, wiping off the mud, checking for any cuts or bruises. His mind is at ease; you're fine.
"You really are an adeptus."
His eyes widen and he takes a step back, clenching his fist before turning away from you. It's the first time you've seen him in months.
"I'm alright," you say, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I've fallen in the mud before. You know that." You attempt to reassure him with a smile.
He lowers his gaze and rubs his arm. After spotting your sun hat in the water, he sees that half of it has been soaked through.
"I'll get you a new one," he says, bending down to pick it up. The one you kept for him was still hung in that old wooden shed.
"It's fine," you say, shaking your head with a smile. "I can get it. I need a change of clothes anyway."
The wind changes course before it dies down. There is no movement coming from your direction. Xiao glances over his shoulder, finding it odd you continue to stand in place. After a moment, he asks, "Well? Are you going?"
"Oh." You let go of the bundle of rice stalks in your hand and take a few steps past Xiao before pausing again. Your shoulders drop as you look back at him.
He sighs, rubbing his hair. "I'll wait for you."
Your eyes widen, surprised he guessed what you were thinking. He knows you're trying to hide how you're really feeling. "Sorry," you tell him before rushing to your house.
The wooden door closes shut and Xiao stands a few steps away. He lets out a breath before leaning against your house. He never intended to fall for you.
A sparrow flutters by and he's reminded of when he worked on your farm. You often gave the birds ridiculous names. He reluctantly listened to you, eagerly sharing about how they were the same as the ones at the Harbour. But after a while, he didn't mind hearing your voice since he found it quite soothing.
The tree in front of him reminds him of when you'd grab a drink for him as he sat under it. He fought to hide his true opinion of your latest recipe. He didn't like any of them, yet sitting under the shade with you was worth it then.
Your unlikely relationship all started with a misunderstanding before growing into something more. He was the guy you thought your grandpa hired and he got caught up in your warm whirlwind of a welcome. Even after clearing up your mistake, it wasn't so bad to stay with you. If he were being honest, he actually longed to stay with you, to have a mundane life with you. But he couldn't live in that fantasy forever.
He was a yaksha.
Xiao continues to lean against your house when you open the door, now wearing dry clothes. You ask how he's been during this time, as if everything was fine. As if he never disappeared.
"Grandpa's arm is almost completely healed," you tell him. "He's been asking where you…" you begin to say before lowering your eyes. Not wanting to pry, you tug at your sleeve. You know Xiao prefers to keep to himself.
He looks out onto the farm with his arms crossed. Not too long ago, the field was brown and barren, but now it's half filled with rice stalks. "You're getting better at this," he says, referring to your progress with farming. He wants to change the subject. He doesn't want explain why he left.
"Really?" you ask. You're glad he recognizes your improvement. He wishes he was there to witness it for himself. But he can't. He doesn't want to see you hurt.
Xiao picks up his spear. "I should go," he tells you, clenching the weapon in his hand.
"Already?" you say, but a whimper slips through your lips. He hates seeing you like this.
"Yeah," he replies.
Your lips twist together and your eyes can't help but stare at the ground. After taking a breath, you force your mouth into a smile. "Will you come visit again tomorrow?" you ask.
He doesn't answer you. He can't answer you.
You tug at your sleeve again as your eyes return to the ground. He should never have stayed with you. He should've left after you learned he wasn't the person your grandpa hired. He shouldn't have let the words slip out of his mouth, the words telling you he would stay to help you with the farm.
A sniffle comes from his left and he turns his face to see you wiping your eyes with a sleeve.
"Why are you–?" Xiao begins to ask, but he sees you biting your lip, attempting to hold your composure.
Your voice cracks a little when you reply. "Is this the last time I'm going to see you?" Hearing your fears spoken aloud causes more tears to run down your face. Lift your hands to cover your face. It's the first time he has seen you cry.
Xiao groans and runs his fingers through his hair before he awkwardly wraps his arms around your body. His shoulder becomes damp from your tears and a lone leaf falls in front of you. He rubs your back, and after a while, your breath begins to steady when you finally relax into his arms.
"You'll come back, right?" you ask him.
An image of your bloodied arm flashes in his mind. He grabs your shoulders to push you away.
He can't be doing this.
"Xiao?"
Xiao, the name given to him by Rex Lapis. He has many names. Alatus. Conquer of Demons. Vigilant Yaksha. Each one of these names reminds him of the weight he bore. He used to forsake those names whenever he was with you.
"I'm sorry," he replies.
With his vision glowing, he takes his spear and teleports to Wangshu Inn. He lets out a sigh of relief before slumping on the roof. He's safe. You're safe. He can't keep seeing you. He has to let you go.
There's a tug on his shirt and when he looks over his shoulder, he sees that he somehow brought you along. You must have held onto him this whole time.
Xiao clicks his tongue and rubs his temples, wishing you didn't witness his mistake.
"Where are we?" you ask before your eyes widen. You recognize where you are.
"You–"
"I'm sorry. I just…"
Xiao takes a breath and sighs. "I'll take you back. Don't look for me here." He reaches for your extended hand but you snap it back and pull it close to your chest.
"Can't I see you again?" you ask once more, your shirt wrinkling as you clutch it. Now that you know he comes to the inn, he knows you'll try to find him here.
He slumps onto the inn's roof, his spear clangs slightly as he drops it by his side. Rubbing his temples, he's not quite sure what to do next. Wangshu Inn is his hiding place but it won't be anymore if you're here.
"Look, you can't come here, alright?" he tells you.
You bite your lip, and Xiao knows you're trying to hold back a second round of tears. "Why… why can't I see you?" you ask. "Why are you pushing me away?"
He doesn't answer; he only turns his face away from you. He has already resigned to the ill-fated relationship you have with each other.
"Is there something wrong with me–?"
"No. Nothing's wrong with you."
"Then why are you–"
"Look, you need to forget about me alright?" he says, standing straight up next to you. "You need to leave me." The voice that leaves his throat is hoarser than usual. "My karma… it…" He bites his lip and turns his face from you. He can't tell you. He should never have stayed with you.
The sun begins to set, the sky dimming to a burnt orange. It's too similar to the day you almost got hurt. The fictitious scenario continues to haunt him. He has seen others hurt many times before.
Xiao feels your gentle touch on his arm and he sees your sad eyes. "What does your karma do?" you ask with a soft voice.
Xiao rubs his neck, hesitant to give you an answer. "You know those hilichurls that attacked you?" he quietly mentions. "They were attracted to your farm because of my karma."
His feelings… he finally voiced them. He didn't want to tell you. Knowing you, you'd try to find a way to–
"What if I learned how to fight?"
"Tsk," Xiao clicks his tongue and crosses his arms. He knew it. He shouldn't have said anything. You're already a mere mortal and your fragile body can only take so much.
"Xiao…"
"You can barely manage the farm by yourself," he snaps, finally letting out his frustration.
"I know I have my limits. But I can try, can't I?"
He's not frustrated with you though. He's just exhausted to have this happen over and over again whenever he happens to become close with a mortal.
"You shouldn't need to. I can't bear to see you get hurt."
"What if I got a vision? Wouldn't that help?"
"That's not the issue here. Besides, even with a vision, it won't help with your limited stamina. A vision would be worthless." He wanted to avoid this conversation and yet, here he is, arguing with the person he cherished the most. He hates this.
He takes a breath before continuing. "Y/n, it's my karma that's the–"
Xiao widens his eyes after he realizes something. No, why does this need to come up now? Why now of all times does this thought cross his mind?
A vision could help with his karma.
But he can't tell you that. He can't give you a sliver of hope. The other yaksha eventually succumbed to their karma. A vision would increase your resistance, yes, but with your health… Xiao shakes his head at the thought.
You place a hand on his arm, knowing something crossed his mind. "What is it?" you ask him.
He sighs. "Nothing."
"Nothing?" you raise a brow. He flits his eyes away from you and a tiny smirk gently tugs your lips, knowing he's starting to budge.
"Are you sure about that?"
"Look, I–" His eyes meet yours and the hope in your gaze causes his resistance to falter. "Ugh," he places a palm on his forehead. "You think it's that easy to get a vision?" He knew of numerous people who desperately tried to get a vision only to die without seeing their desires realized.
But when your eyes grow wide, Xiao realizes the slip of his tongue. "No," he says, "it's not like that. It's impossible to–"
"A vision can help?" you say, your face becoming brighter.
"I–," Xiao groans as he runs his fingers through his hair. What's he supposed to do now? "It can, but…"
"But…?"
Xiao knows he should stop explaining to you, but it's already too late. He said too much. "It won't make you immune to my karma," he tells you. "It'll just give you some more resistance to it. That's all."
You take a breath to process all of the information he told you. Your brows furrow as you're deep in thought and Xiao doesn't know what's on your mind. He wants you to give up like he has, but he's also afraid you'll leave him completely, as if he never existed. He selfishly wants you to continue to hope for the both of you, but he knows he can't ask that of you. Hope deferred makes the heart sick and he has experienced that many times. He doesn't want you to suffer through that as well.
As you continue to think through his words, Xiao turns his face away. He doesn't want to see you come to your decision. "I should bring you home," he tells you. He can't bear to see you reject him. He needs to end this now.
"So I just need a vision, right?" you ask.
Xiao's heart skips a beat and his blood rushes through his veins. He can't tell if he's scared or elated.
"Well, at least for now," you continue. "Enough for me to see you again?" you ask bashfully.
A smile tugs on his mouth before he bites his lip to hold it back. He shouldn't be doing this. He can't. "Not anyone can get a vision," he says without turning to face you.
"I know, but I should at least try, shouldn't I?"
"Do you know how many people wish to get a vision, but never get one?" He needs to talk you out of this. He needs to talk himself out of this.
"I can try Xiao. I'll ask how others got their visions. I know I can at least do that." You cover his hand with yours. "I have to try."
The clouds have gotten darker and the first few drops touch his skin. He should take you home and make you forget about this conversation. But an orange leaf catches his eye as it falls into the nest behind you. Inside the nest glows a bluish hue with a pattern surrounding it that he's all too familiar with, one he always sees on the back of his hand.
"Xiao?" you ask, waiting for some kind of answer from him.
Although he clicks his tongue, there's a small uptick on the corner of his lip. "You fool," he tells you, but he could easily be referring to himself. "You're such a fool."
He takes your hand and in the next moment, the two of you are in your house. He gently lets you go as the two of you stand next to your dining table. Rain continues to hit your roof.
"It's getting dark," he says. "You need to eat your dinner." He picks up his spear to get ready to leave.
"Wait, Xiao, I–"
He takes your hand and sets the vision inside it. He himself can't believe this really happened. He gives you a soft smile and your jaw drops in shock as you gaze at the blue glow in your palms.
"I'll see you tomorrow," he tells you before whisking himself away once again. Only this time, the weight in his chest feels lighter than usual.
I hope you enjoyed it. Please check out my other stories. I also have my taglist form in my pinned post. (Just expect very infrequent updates from me though.)
