the formula to get that perfect “barbie” energy

barbie can do anything. she does what she sets her mind to always! she can go to space, go underwater, be a doctor, a teacher, a business woman, a mother, or anything else! there is nothing she can’t do! she is a kind friend, a thoughtful neighbor, and carry’s her confidence with her wherever she goes. every women wants to be like barbie, but how DO you become the barbie?

on the inside:

a kind and confident heart is always the first step to achieving that barbie energy. as said before, barbie is a kind friend who is always a helping hand. even to the people who aren’t nice to her, she has a positive attitude towards them! she is also very confident, showing off her fantastic style as personality wherever she goes. here’s some ways to glow up your attitude and mindset . . .

1. always offer a helping hand when needed:

barbie LOVES to be helpful! even while being such a busy bee, she tries her best to fit in and volunteer as much as she possibly can!

ways to help in your community:

- volunteer at animal shelters, non profit organizations, or food banks.

- if possible, donate some money to organizations fighting to make the world a better place!

-if somebody is in a bad situation, speak up!

- offer to help somebody who is having a hard day.

2. be a girls girl!

barbie is a girls girl! she is a figure of empowerment for women across the globe, and tells all women “you can be anything”! a girls girl is somebody who is an advocate for the women around them.

what being a girls girl can look like: standing up for women, prioritizing female relationships, empowering the women around them, celebrating your female colleagues achievements, being genuine, offering sincere compliments, and defending women targeted in harassment.

what being a girls girl does NOT look like: dumbing yourself down for boys, not supporting women victims of s3xual assault or domestic violence, asking the question “what was she wearing?” or saying “she was asking for it”, talking badly behind another girls back, calling a girl a slut or a whore, and targeting another girls insecurities.

3. confidence is key

a pretty outfit is only pretty if worn with confidence, and a pretty smile are the ones worn by the most confident of people. never be ashamed of who you are. as barbie says, “you can be anything!”. walk into every room like you own the place. last, always remember, a secure person would never make fun of your appearance or personality, it is only the insecure people who do that!

to go along with her sweet and uplifting personality, barbie also has her own style that’s unique to her! if your unaware of her usual niche, her signature style consists of pinks, frills, ribbons, glitter, and gems! more on that later <3

now, if you wish to have that barbie energy, you can choose to have your own signature style, or you can choose to go for the signature barbie look. first, let’s take a look at barbie’s style!

the barbie approach:

barbie knows what she likes and doesn’t like. she is very specific with her style, for example, one look inside her closet and you’ll notice it’s almost entirely pink!!! she embraces traditional feminine clothing, and that doesn’t diminish her power in the slightest. below are some of barbie’s outfits to take inspo from!

- look for more maxamalist clothing, lululemon is out, but frills and chunky heels are totally in!

- embrace early 2000s fashion! some of barbie’s best outfits were on her 2000-2010 dolls!

- wear tons of pink! pink is barbie’s signature color. though she wears other colors, pink is barbie’s color and makes her stand out in the best way.

- don’t be afraid to show your feminine side, it makes you powerful!

-always accessorize: wear purses, chunky glasses, gold/silver jewelry, belts, and hair bows.

- lastly, always wear a smile! showing that your confident and happy in what you wear makes your outfit even better!

choosing your own style:

choosing your own style is a perfect way to show off what makes you, you! however, constructing your perfect style can be tricky. always remember barbie’s motto, “you can be anything”, so wear whatever makes you feel like yourself, no matter what the latest fads are. here are some tips to help you find your own unique style!

don’t pay attention to social media trends! these trends change too often and can seriously control your fashion choices. instead, find what you like and stick with it

find your signature colors! find colors that you love to wear and show them off! it’s the perfect way to have memorable outfits.

make a pinterest board of your dream closet! this helps me so much when i go shopping, so i know exactly what to buy and not buy.

experiment with different patterns and textures! try out things you’ve never done before, you might like it!

last, dress for yourself. it doesn’t matter what other people think about you, as long as you’re happy in the clothes you wear.

Starquakes

Sometimes a neutron star will undergo a glitch, a sudden small increase of its rotational speed or spin up. Glitches are thought to be the effect of a starquake—as the rotation of the neutron star slows, its shape becomes more spherical. Due to the stiffness of the “neutron” crust, this happens as discrete events when the crust ruptures, creating a starquake similar to earthquakes. After the starquake, the star will have a smaller equatorial radius, and because angular momentum is conserved, its rotational speed has increased.

Starquakes occurring in magnetars, with a resulting glitch, is the leading hypothesis for the gamma-ray sources known as soft gamma repeaters.

Recent work, however, suggests that a starquake would not release sufficient energy for a neutron star glitch; it has been suggested that glitches may instead be caused by transitions of vortices in the theoretical superfluid core of the neutron star from one metastable energy state to a lower one, thereby releasing energy that appears as an increase in the rotation rate.
