Stocking Stuffer 1/5: A Bajillion Random Painting Recolours
Happy Holidays to all! While I'm proud that last year I finally managed to achieve a longtime goal of sharing a full TS2 Advent Calendar, I'm simply not gonna be able to pull it off this year. Nonetheless, the holidlay spirit has encouraged me to finish up and share a couple of things before the end of the year! I'll be sharing five little gifts over the next few arbitrary days. First up: A BUNCH of Maxis painting recolours.
One recolour each of A/B/C Stroke (yes, I still enjoy playing with these as three separate paintings) using vintage matchbook covers designed by Saul Bass for The Ohio Match Company.
Two recolours +frames for Abstrutionism; "Poppy Cake" by Adolf Fényes (1910), and then this edit of Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth (1948) to include Bella Goth (the original Tumblr poster has deactivated).
A recolour of Anonymous Masterpiece with these two digital paintings by user chestnutroan featuring their farmer Sim and his two alien daughters.
One recolour of the Arghist Soldier with "Friday Nights" by Deborah DeWit (2006), perfect for your novel-enthusiast Sims' reading nook.
One recolour of City Skyline with a fruit & veg painting by Twitter user snail_soup (you can buy a real print of this too if you like it!)
One recolour of the Fourth Element wall scroll with "From Stardust to Stardust - Raccoon" by user ArtOfMienda.
Four Vegetables recoloured with four deliciously juicy tomato paintings by artist Leah Gardner.

Kitten vs. Yarn (+frame) recoloured with this goache painting by user ieafy.

One recolour of Marketing Print with the Beatles as drawn by other Beatles. I don't remember who drew who because I'm actually not much of a Beatles fan but I thought these sketches were really darling.

On Pointed Toes (+frame) recoloured with this digital painting by Twitter user catwheezie.
I fell in love with this Guinness ad so I tweaked it from the photo to fit on the Route 66 poster, then made an accompanying Simlish option.
A single Scruffles recolour (+frame) with this adorable cow illustration by Twitter user poodlewool.
Four recolours of the Sim Noir pop art print; three pieces by Al Parker I found through this Tweet (with some English removed) and then an edit of the original painting to look passingly familiar...

Pic above shows the 75% and 100% motives. Not only are those eyesearing when outdoors, the 75% one looks almost yellow which isn't great. Then there's 50% (yellow), 25% (orange) and 0% (red).
The neighborhood plumbobs are kinda weird, use most of the TXMT settings linked to it, just not all. There's a separate night and day look - I tried to make the night version non-transparent and glowing and that didn't work.

Hey Midge! If it's possible, do you think you could replace the burglar music from the Sims 2 with that of the one from the Sims 1? And a side request, if it isn't too difficult and you've got time to spare, could you also make burglaries more common? I think I've only ever gotten them 5 times total through normal gameplay since UC released
Burglary Odds Tuning Mod
Hi! I don’t know why I haven’t thought to make an increased burglary odds mod before, especially when I recently started curating a folder of mods meant to make the game harder for me the next time I attempt a challenge. Since I figured people would have different opinions on how frequently burglars should be allowed to visit and this is a BCON tuning mod, I labeled the two constants I figured out the purpose of and will explain their use:
“Inverse Burglary Odds” (default value: 19) is an integer where the higher it is the less burglaries you get. More specifically, the probability of a burglary (given that it’s nighttime, sims are asleep, etc.) is 1/(x+1) where x = “inverse burglary odds”, so the default probability is 1/20 or 5%. As a starting point I decided to double that to 10% (9).
“Min Days Between Burglaries” (default value: 6) is the minimum number of days that must elapse before the game will allow another burglary (to happen to the same household, I assume). I left it at its default value.
You can lower one or the other if you find burglaries still don’t happen often enough, or increase them if you change your mind and want fewer burglaries. (And if anyone, say, can’t get SimPE to work and needs me to do the tuning for them that’s fine, just tell me what values you want).

Now as to your main request, it’s late and that one’s not a simple tuning mod so I’m going to add it to my to-do list and get a better look at what would be involved when I have a chance! For those seeing this post later, I fulfilled the main request here.

Deadly poison - let your spies poison other Sims!
(spy crafting station | potion seller and drinking poisons from inventory)
This upload contains poison object and poison custom interaction. You can click on poison goblet and make your Sim drink poison or put it into their inventory. If Sim drinks poison, they will vomit and then die of disease. If Sim has poison goblet in their inventory, new interaction clickable on other Sims will appear. It’s called ‘Poison’. The chance of making other Sim drink poison is based on other’s Sim logic, lucky and unlucky traits are also taken into account. When Sim accepts, poison disappears from poisoner’s inventory and accepter drinks it, vomits and then dies. If Sim refuses to drink suspiciously looking wine, poison stays in poisoner’s inventory.
Poison can be found in the general/misc section for $150. Night Life is required, because some NL animations are used.

Update 20th of November 2019: I’ve added two new poisons: poisoned wine in modern glass and poisoned instant meal, and updated poison Sim mod. If Sim has more than one kind of poison in their inventory, they will use the medieval poison first. If they don’t have any medieval poison, they will use the modern one. They will use the instant meal one only when they’ve got no other kind of poison in their inventory. Modern glass by courtesy of @fracturedmoonlight.
Update 13th of January 2020: I disabled poisoning menu from appearing when Sim A or Sim B is asleep or swimming.
Update 25th of May 2020: Playable ghosts won’t die from poisoning. They can drink poison or be offered poison, but won’t vomit or die if they drink it.
Update 30th of May 2020: social interactions won’t be recognized as an action that a Sim can be influenced to do
Update 23rd of June 2020: added “X poisoned me!” memory to the Poison interaction. Sims will only get this memory if they accept one of poisoned wines or poisoned instant meal. They will not get this memory if they commit suicide by drinking poison. Poisoning Sim works fine without that memory, which will be simply skipped if missing.
Update 4th of July 2021: This update adds 2 new memories: negative memory of killing other Sim and positive memory of killing other Sim. Sims with ‘evil’ trait will always get positive memory of killing other Sim unless the Sim they’ve killed is their best friend - then they’ll get negative memory. Sims with ‘good’ trait will always get negative memory of killing other Sim. There are no exceptions here. Sims that have neither ‘good’ nor ‘evil’ trait will get positive memory of killing other Sim only if that Sim was their enemy. Traits by @hexagonal-bipyramid are not required for these mods to work. New memories are also optional - you don’t have to keep them if you don’t want your Sims to get these memories. However, if you have put them in your downloads folder and some Sims have already received these memories, you have to delete them from Sims’ memory system before removing memory files from your downloads.
Update 13th of July 2021: I added nauseating poison from TSM. Instead of killing Sims, it’ll give them food poisoning. It can be found in general/misc for $125. Sims can drink it or grab the flask and put it into their inventory. Once a Sim has nauseating poison in their inventory, they unlock Poison…/Give food poisoning interaction. It’s a part of updated Meduza_poison_sim_interaction. Original Poison interaction has been renamed to Poison…/Kill. You can read more about the update here.
Update 17th of October 2021: skelebros and zombies won’t get food poisoning or die from poisoning

Update 24th of May 2022: poisoning action won’t appear on not greeted Sims
Update 13th of May 2023: Sims with ‘immortal’ trait won’t die
Update 4th of June 2023: fixed an oversight that made immortal Sims immune to getting food poisoning from drinking nauseating poison
Update 30th of December 2023: a poison will disappear from a glass after having been drunk, like it happens to the in-game medicine

Mod ‘ur Dig - Archaeologists & Scavengers Edition
This modifies the Dig Hole interaction so new things can be dug up. You can still get all the normal items from digging, but this will add 48 in-game items and 88 CC objects to the mix (all required CC is included in the download). I designed this with two scenarios in mind: archaeologists digging up things to put in museums and scavengers looking for things to use or sell. The added items are a mix of deco objects, usable food, and cheap household items. I also tweaked the odds of the other dig items. Hitting a water pipe or getting a treasure chest is now extremely rare. Maps are more rare but not too difficult to get. Rocks and bones will come up way less. I thoroughly play tested this mod with no problems. All items pictured above are the new editions except the cube shelves, magisplay tray, and value counter, those were just used to display things
The download includes a Read Me with a full list of the added items and links to the CC posts, some of the items have recolors you could download

You can only have one dig mod in your game. I’d be happy to make other dig mods, feel free to contact me with ideas. I could also make archaeologist only or scavenger only versions of this mod if anyone is interested

Here’s a tiny upload for easier access*, Charlotte-Helen’s files. I’m not sure if they ever uploaded more than these two followers gifts but they’re the ones I was able to find so that’s what I’m sharing:
200 Followers gift part 2: Full set / Coffee skin defaults / skins custom / Sims 200 Followers gift part 1: Full set (three clothing sets) 100 Followers gift: (three eye sets) Custom eyes / gen+town. eyes (whole folder)
Be warned that in the eye sets it seems that they’ve accidentally named the “Sharp Eyes” also to “Bright Sight” so if you dump them in the same folder they’ll overwrite each other. Despite the (accidental) same name they are different eye sets, verified that with SimPE. You may want to rename them if you plan to use both sets.
*I say easier since if you use archive.org and go to their blog you will find that their original links still work but 1. they’re on mediafire - eww, and 2. you need to use archive.org to get there so this is definitely the simplest method.

So yesterday, I posted about this fire hydrant object that randomly spawns passing cars on lots. @simblrkersil commented that the mesh/textures are kind of…well…2005. :) Which, they are. So, I endeavored to replace the mesh with something newer but, as usual, failed. I ended up with an invisible object. It worked, but it was invisible. I have no idea what I did wrong, but then I realized that invisible was better, anyway. So, I just made an invisible recolor of the object instead.
Why is invisible better? Well, for one, because you might not want to have a fire hydrant on every single lot, if you want passing traffic on every lot. That’s not how fire hydrants generally are. But mostly, invisible is better because the more of these you place on a lot, the more often cars will pass. And sometimes, you’ll get more than one car going by at the same time, like so with six hydrants on the lot:
So, you have a method of traffic control. With a single hydrant on the lot you’ll get one or two cars every sim-hour or so. With six, as above, I had cars passing about once every two sim-minutes and sometimes got more than one car at once. Put more down, you’ll get still denser traffic. So, you can sort of tailor your traffic to your population density. But you probably wouldn’t want five or more hydrants on a single lot. With the invisible recolor, you can have as many as you want. You can even stick a nicer-looking deco fire hydrant on top of it/them, if you want.
So there it is. The download contains the mesh and the invisible recolor. The object is located in Misc/Misc in the buy catalog.

The nitty gritty details and disclaimers:
This is an entire collection that is interwoven with each other. Hair is repositoried to different ages, genders, defaults, and even hidden toddler hair. It's highly recommended that the collection stay intact and that you have the Ultimate Collection or all EP/SP.
Not all hair works with each sims' faces and not all sims' faces work with each hair. So keep in mind foreheads, cheeks and ears may poke out. Previews are available at LordCrumps.com
The collection includes add ons that may require the defaults and are flagged as "Store Edition" hair. TS4 hairs range from base game to the most recent Stuff Pack (Home Chef Hustle). More hair may be included as add ons in the future.
I wouldn't convert some hair without their outfit counterparts. Please make sure to remove conflicts. The outfits include:

TOU: Please feel free to use these as a template for your defaults and recolor the hair as you'd prefer for download purposes. I only ask that you do not reupload these original files (breaking down to packs, gender, etc) as they are intertwined and may not work without their exclusive counterparts. Please do not make these hairs as customs for reupload (I'll do it for you, if you send an ask).

This took about... 8 months to complete. I've (re)converted all of these myself to my current expectations of my conversion content. This was play tested thoroughly over the course of that time. If there are any issues, please don't hesitate to send an ask. The file size is massive even compressed, but to be honest it's pretty decent for 500+ hair.

I’ve been toying with this pretty much ever since I first watched Marticore’s Planet Alades series, and finally got around to doing it. I think @kaylynn-is-typing did something similar here, but I can’t read anything on that theme for more than three seconds so I am not entirely sure what’s in it. Either way, my files are completely standalone rather than being edits of existing mods.
There are three different files in this archive:
rudhira_alientownieseyes_alienonly will make all townies spawn with alien eyes.
rudhira_alientownieseyes_alleyes will add alien eyes to the pool of towniefied eyes, along with the five regular colours.
rudhira_alientowniesskin will make all townies spawn with alien skin.
Now, the above statements are only true when you have no other towniefied skin or eyes in your Downloads folder. My recommended way of using this is to have other towniefied (alien?) skins and eyes in your Downloads folder, and to use this as a way of ensuring that no townies will generate with natural skin colours.
Make sure to only keep one of the eye files. Also, make sure that these load before creaturefixes.
These can also be used independently of each other, so you can have townies spawn with alien eyes and normal skin, or with only the normal eye colours and alien skin.
