Why have superhero movies stopped killing off super villains? Now, it’s all about the hero giving a big speech at the end, and suddenly the villain is rehabilitated. Take Thunderbolts a solid Marvel movie, one of their better ones in a while. But defeating the villain with the power of friendship? What’s that about? When did stakes and consequences get replaced by feel-good redemption arcs?

Kaitlyn Dever started filming Abby and Joel's "Last of Us" twist three days after her mom's funeral.
"To be as honest as possible, I will just say that my days leading up to this scene were horrible. I lost my mom two or three weeks before I actually shot this scene. My mom’s funeral was three days before I did my first day. So I was sort of in a fog. I was in a daze.”
“The Last of Us” creative team changed the shooting schedule so the scene would start filming with coverage shots that did not require Dever. She was then allowed to pick the day she wanted to film her on-camera moments.
“We said, ‘Take your time. Take all the time you need,'” series co-creator Craig Mazin told EW. “While I care extraordinarily about the show, it’s a TV show. I’m not going to disrupt someone’s grieving process for their own parent, especially [with] a show that’s partly about the grieving process.”

I am still shook my the episode even knowing what was coming.
I want to say on a positive note the actress who played Abby nailed the role and I now hate her character. She was amazing. I just hope she doesn’t get the same kind of backlash the actor who played Joffrey did. She was amazing in her role

“Someone can be madly in love with you and still not be ready. They can love you in a way you have never been loved and still not join you on the bridge. And whatever their reasons you must leave. Because you never ever have to inspire anyone to meet you on the bridge. You never ever have to convince someone to do the work to be ready. There is more extraordinary love, more love that you have never seen, out here in this wide and wild universe. And there is the love that will be ready.”

Josh Radnor’s Liberal Arts (2012) is a charming and introspective film that explores nostalgia, personal growth, and the bittersweet nature of aging.
Radnor, who wrote, directed, and stars in the film, plays Jesse, a 35-year-old college admissions officer stuck in a rut. When he returns to his alma mater for a professor’s retirement party, he meets 19-year-old Zibby (Elizabeth Olsen), an intelligent and free-spirited student who reignites his passion for literature, music, and life itself.
What makes Liberal Arts compelling is its thoughtful examination of intellectualism, romantic idealism, and the tension between youthful enthusiasm and the realities of adulthood. Radnor’s script is both witty and poignant, offering relatable insights into the romanticization of the past and the necessity of moving forward. Olsen delivers a standout performance, portraying Zibby as both mature beyond her years and still naïve in her youth. Meanwhile, Richard Jenkins and Allison Janney provide memorable supporting roles, adding depth to the film’s themes of mentorship and disillusionment.
Visually, the film captures the idyllic beauty of college life, with warm cinematography that enhances its nostalgic tone. While its dialogue-driven narrative may feel slow to some, those who appreciate introspective storytelling will find plenty to reflect on.
Ultimately, Liberal Arts is a quietly profound film about self-discovery and growth. While it doesn’t reinvent the genre, it resonates deeply with anyone who has ever longed for the past while learning to embrace the present.
