CAA has “found” its newly hired instructor. If you didn’t know - the amazing Mr. Naylor did not retire but has moved on from the realm of public education. From the desk of Mr. Bayonet... Please know that as I type this - it is taking all that is in me not to (continue to) be a bit emotional. For those that know, Mr. Naylor is moving on from the profession of education. He IS NOT retiring. Let me make that clear, lol. He is simply, moving on. For me, It is exciting and terrifying at the same time. I have had the amazing opportunity to work side by side with this man for the past 10 years. 10 months out of the year, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. I have been blessed to have been given this position. So many grand memories and conversations, life lessons, students, competitions, and more. What can really be said? This man has been, by far, the MOST influential human being in my life. He is my teacher, my mentor, my colleague, my friend, but most importantly... a father figure to not only me but also to an array of creative individuals that spans over 28 years in education. The Commercial Art program WOULD NOT be what it is today without the guidance and creative genius of this man. Such an creative night for our graduating young men and women. Our 10th annual "smART Night" came together without a hitch. Hundreds were in attendance and the camaraderie between our students, families, teachers, administrators, alumni and more - was off the charts!

Our classroom officers did an amazing job coming together to make this night happen. We are honored to have so many amazing creatives. For those that came out to support - thank you!

It’s always a pleasure to be able to present such a worthy awards to outstanding students. This year we felt it best to present TBT’s “Excellence in Commercial Art” award to Nathan Gonzalez (n@t). . Nathan has been a beacon of positivity in our class and club. He has been a club officers for two years in a row. He has the ability to entertain a class when given the floor to make an announcement or motivate his peers no matter the task. He is one of our school’s yearbook photographers and a designer.
