For all Zutara lover's out there, give the webtoon comic series by junepurr a read. It's a enemies to lover's, marriage of conveniences where the royal families can shapesift into dragon's. It's a really good comic with great romance, political drama, action and magic, but still has plenty of funny and sweet moments in between. It's like a Zutara fanficion come to live!!!!

My personal favourite fanfiction Aang is the Aang in Southern Lights.

He is everything canon Aang should have been, IMO. Mind you, this Aang is not the Avatar, the Avatar cycle has been interrupted so long ago it’s more of a thing of legends in this AU. The Gaang gets together under Iroh’s tutelage to try and combine their bending together as an experiment called the Avatar project. In this story, Aang is not 112, he just happens to have been born 100 years later. And since there’s no Air Nomad Avatar, Sozin left the temples alone so he isn’t the last airbender.

This Aang’s conflict is super interesting though, the AU delves deep into the problematic aspects of the Air Nomads philosophy (non interference for the sake of pacifism, superiority complex over the other ‘violent’ nations etc.). Most importantly, he does not crush on Katara and he truly is one of her best friends. They do not have the mother/baby sitter and little kid dynamic, they’re both masters of their element and equals.

This works out because Aang is slightly older in this AU and because he still has master Gyatso around as a parental figure.

Thank you so much, someone least acully recommend Southern Light's to me and I just started reading it, but now I'm even more excited to keep reading it knowing more about how Aang's character is going to develop in this fanfic. 🤩

Can anyone please recommend me any good Zutara fanficion where Aang isn't villainized or made out to be an immature brat? Because I'm so tried of reading fanficion where authors do that to his character and it ruins my enjoyment of reading fanficion.

I started reading fanficion because of Zutara and even thou I've read some great fanfics, It's almost impossible to find one that doesn't villainous Aang to build up the Zutara romance and I'm sick of it!

I've mentioned in a previous post that even though I do ship Zutara ( and they should have been Canon ) I don't really hate Aang as a character because of that.

Anyway, I spent way to much time last night looking for a good Zutara fanfic so if anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it.
