Case of Shinra; Castel 1/?
"Aye, special delivery from the Chief!"
Her eyes blinked at the black leather duffel bag perched menacingly atop her desk. Never mind the neat stack of documents that were now strewn about (some sheets she was sure were creased under that damn bag) after Crisis unceremoniously dropped the bag and a thick olive file folder onto her desk, but it was what was in the bag that caused her confusion and embarrassment. She hated cleaning up messes, but oh hell what a mess of an assignment this was. Castel, codename SHOTGUN within the Turks, was mortified.
"Crisis," she looked to her auburn-headed colleague as he was holding back laughter. "What in the hell is this?" She gestured to the bag and, cringing as she did so, pulled out a sparkling lavender bra encrusted with rhinestones of all sizes, hand-beaded crystals and pearls, and rows of shimmering lavender and gold sequins. She silently admitted that the delicate applique framing the cups were to her taste, but...to be seen in public with that?!
"Oh jesus christ Castel, Chief got you good!" he hooted. Curse her for not having a sole office, all of the Turks (aside from Reno, Rude, Tseng, and Elena) had their own desks in a large room at the Healen Inn, the newest location for Turks HQ. Her fellow Turks looked up and some snickers emerged from Hin, who had set down the pistol he was cleaning and sauntered over to the pair. "You actually have to wear that shit?"
"I wanna cry," Castel sighed. Hin whistled as he fished out a matching lace skirt from the bag by the tip of his pinky.
"Girl, you'll need someone to cover your ass, because this shit definitely won't!" Hin guffawed like an idiot as he dropped the skirt, if it could even be called that, back into the bag. "Hey, there's another outfit in here, who's it for? Please say it ain't going on me!"
Castel sat back into her chair and thumbed the file open in the meanwhile. Her ears perked up at the response to Hin’s mock-whine. "Nah, Hin, it's not for you," Crisis replied. Both Castel and Hin looked in his direction, wondering how the hell he knew. "It's in the case file. Partner's unlisted," he snorted.
"Who allowed you to read my case?!" Castel snapped. Crisis cackled as he walked back to his desk, having the time of his life (did he know something that isn't in the file?) Hin raised a brow and chuckled, then returned to his own desk. Now that Crisis knew what her job entailed, she needed to see it through to the letter, making damn sure that she completed her job perfectly, even while wearing such a revealing outfit.
Reading her case file thoroughly, she was informed that she (and her unknown partner on this mission) would be targeting the new Don of Neo Wall Market, Don Arturo, for information regarding Geostigma, the incurable Lifestream-based disease that had been running rampant throughout the Sectors of Edge. The Don claimed to have informants with dirt on the location of Jenova fragments, and he would be taking offers for his bountiful hills of knowledge. What better to offer the Don than a flash of skin and a night of steamy promises? Castel inwardly cringed, but a job was a job, and she would do her job exceptionally well. However, the mention of leaving her shotgun behind upset her greatly.
An unnamed partner though? What was Tseng thinking? She concluded that the mystery associate possibly had connections to get into the mansion, hopefully bypassing the Don's rumored "audition" for his nightly liaisons. According to her file, she was due to meet with her partner in two hours. Wanting to get to the rendezvous point with time to spare, Castel quickly cleaned up her desk and locked the drawers after memorizing the mission file. Castel slung the duffel bag over her shoulder and tossed her desk keys to Crisis as she made her way out the door of their office. "Have fun tonight!" Crisis laughed as he caught the keys in one hand and stuck them into his pencil drawer.
"Ass," Castel grinned.
"Bitch~” As the door closed shut behind her, Crisis turned to Hin, who was still cleaning and reassembling both of his pistols. “Hey! Wanna know who her partner is?”
----------------------------------------------
"Castel, you have your orders. Please remain on standby until your partner arrives."
"Yes sir." Castel ended the call and slipped her phone back into her pocket. Her partner should be arriving any moment now. The train ride to Neo Wall Market was definitely a journey, having dealt with strangers shooting her dirty looks and throwing garbage in her direction until she stepped off the train. There were still those who held a deep grudge against the Shinra company, and who could blame them? Still, they were trying to atone for the sins of the company, wasn't that enough? Even after a drunkard threw an empty glass beer bottle at her head, she still had her noble’s pride and held her head high.
Despite the negativity, the one man who had kept her sane (sorry Crisis!) throughout the post-Meteorfall ordeal was none other than her mentor, Reno. She had gone into hiding, staying away from Mideel to protect her family and hopped inns using her hunted game to barter for rooms to stay. Prior to this, she and Reno had exchanged regular calls in between missions. Unfortunately, such escapes from reality had to be put aside, as painful and heart-wrenching as it was to refuse his calls that had increased in frequency following her disappearance. Reno had managed to track her down and paid her a personal visit to the cramped inn she had holed up in at some tiny blip of a town some distance outside of Corel. He had encouraged her to return with him to Edge as the Turks were needed again, pleading almost for her to agree. Castel couldn't say no; nothing else could have made her happier than knowing that she could resume working with the Turks (especially because it was him that sought her out!) and followed Reno out of her tiny dusty room and back into the line of fire. Since then, she hadn't really seen much of him due to their increased workload aside from brief passes in the hallway, and his ritual phone calls were decreased to some miniscule handful few and far in between. Despite this, she was grateful for any amount of time she did get to spend with him, even if it was just refilling the communal coffee pot in the other room.
Ouch, she hissed. The side of her head where the bottle struck her stung like a bitch, but Castel did her best to ignore the pain as she stood by the street lamp illuminating the train platform. That's gonna bruise bad in the morning. The glow of the flickering bulb shone brighter as the sky grew darker, this was definitely taking a while. Were the trains slow? Who the hell was she supposed to be looking for? She sighed and leaned against the lamp post, wracking her brain trying to figure how to identify her mission partner. Suddenly, the booming sound of the train pulling into the Neo Wall Market station caught her attention. At that very moment, her phone chimed and the text from Tseng blinked on the screen.
[ Your partner should arrive any second now. He'll be walking up to you and state the code phrase "Honey bees are buzzing tonight, aren't they?" And you will respond, "Loud enough for the queen." ]
Castel nodded and put her cellphone away. Good, she can commence operation right away and get home before midnight--wait, he?
She snapped her head up and watched as his tell-tale red hair, bound in a long ponytail and graced with a pair of riding goggles, popped out from the dispersing herd of train passengers. No freakin' way...
Her eyes followed the bouncing mop of crimson and the stream of his cigarette smoke as he made his way off the train and stood on the platform until his fellow passengers have all but cleared. She waited until his piercing mako eyes made contact with hers before she cracked a smile and winked. Her walk towards him turned into a jog as she made a beeline for Reno and, much unlike her, wrapped her arms around his waist in a tight embrace. "Been a while, hasn't it Boss?"

Here, take some medicine.
I got you something for your head.
Want me to make you some soup?
I made you something to eat, c’mon, at least try it.
How’re you feeling?
You don’t look so good, maybe you should sit down.
Did you sleep at all last night? You look like hell.
Yeah, you’re burning up. Lay down, I’ll get you some medicine.
Gross! You got puke on my shoes.
If you’re going to vomit at least do it away from me.
Just sleep, you need it. I’ll still be here when you wake up.
Don’t worry about getting me sick, I’ll be fine.
Nope, you’re going back to bed. Shoo. Go.
You’re not leaving the house like this, we’ll reschedule our plans.
Cover your mouth when you cough, geeze.

ANGSTY FUCKIN' SENTENCE STARTERS
“I appreciate what you’re trying to do, but you’re just making this worse.” “I don’t think we have anything left to say to each other.” “Are you happy? Huh? DOES THIS MAKE YOU HAPPY?!” “This isn’t the end. Just the part where I say enough is enough.” “Stop. Just…stop.” “You have a lot of nerve saying ‘Hello’ like nothing happened.” “I’d say ‘give me one good reason to stay’ but I already know the reasons. I just have better reasons to go.” “I’m sorry…we didn’t make it in time. They’re gone.” “You said you’d always be there for me…so how did this happen? Why weren’t you there?” “There will never be anyone else like you…if I’m very lucky.” “What, you thought you deserved better than a voice message?” “What did you do?” “How much have you had?” “That isn’t water in that bottle, is it.” “I can’t stand watching you destroy yourself like this.” “Didn’t it occur to you that you’re hurting me, too?!” “This can’t keep happening.” “The only good part about being alone is that I don’t wake anyone up when I start screaming at night.” “Holy shit–did you do that?!” “How long have you been doing this to yourself?” “I don’t want help. I just want the pain to stop.” “I just can’t stand being alone anymore.” “Please, don’t tell anyone.” “I can’t stand to lose anything else.” “I’m hurting you too much…you should leave.” “Some things just aren’t worth fighting for.” “I don’t even know why you pretend to care anymore.”

Hey boss,
When are we going to Gold Saucer? You promised to take me before work picked up again.
Reading case files are boring.

BREAD!
Boss, buy me some bread. You're always out, so you must know of some great bakeries, right?
I'm off-duty, but there isn't a good bakery in Edge.

Soup!
I talked to Rude, he made me soup and fixed my heater~ He even brought me some medicine.
We talked about Tifa's new bar that she just opened up. He stopped by, but was too shy to go in by himself, so he called and asked if he could stop over here instead. He then went out and got stuff to make soup and medicine.
Sorry, but he took your game controller and played a few games while he made soup. I think he might be better than you at Choco/Mog Bubble Pop. xD
All of my guns have been cleaned and shined for the next mission. Tseng called me and gave me an update.
As soon as you get back, YOU have to take me to our rendesvous point~

Be nice to Elena
She's still a rookie~ But she does need to pipe down a little~
Don't fall off Da Chao and end up like Corneo, okay? I don't think I'd enjoy grabbing every piece of you and collecting them all into one place and spending millions on Phoenix Downs and super glue.
I love you.

Sitting here sick
Hurry up on your mission! You promised to bring me soup!
As I sit here, I'm reading case files on the Northern Crater. There's been reports of activity over there, but it's very few and far in between. I'm not assigned to it, but it was something left on my desk back at HQ. Hopefully I'm well enough to work on that mission with everyone up near Fort Condor.
By the way, you left your keys here again.
And your wallet. Good luck trying to buy drinks when you're done over at Valentine's~

Thank you, baby~
For flying out to Edge to spend New Year's with me. Glad to not have spent it alone~
I'm not thankful for the large amount of booze you drank though, as you proceeded to eat everything I had just served onto a plate IN THE KITCHEN (which ended up being everything I cooked) and then you slept naked in my bed.
You so owe me at Gold Saucer.

Icicle's New Year
Crisis called me to inform me of your...insulting him at the farm. HAHAHA! He was crying a bit, so I had to calm him down.
It's almost New Year's Eve, and the Chief gave us a night off that day. We should go to Gold Saucer for New Year's! But we have a mission tomorrow, don't we? A big one, if I'm not mistaken. Thank Odin it's not like the Don Arturo mission...
I actually had to take on a solo mission today. It was....different. I guess since Meteorfall, our jobs have been different, and the President does want us to help more people. I had to find this girl lost in tunnels of ice up in the Northern Continent and bring her home. She had been following a snow rabbit and got herself lost in the tunnels. I get cold very easily, you know that, so there were a few times I thought I wasn't going to make it. I made it back to Icicle Inn though, so I was perfectly fine after warming up there. I was able to see Beluga whales, so that made my day!
While I was there I thought of how warm Costa del Sol was. You and I need to get together again and hang out sometime, Boss. I'll be prepared with more muffins~
P.S. You didn't have to go online on your phone and type in he blog address, Boss...I set up your unused "Social" button on your phone to go straight to the blog to type. ^^;

Things are rather lonely as of late...
I haven't heard from you in a while, are you okay? The holidays are upon us, but it's sad that I won't be able to get your present sent on time...I have no time to take the train to your place anymore, especially with the mission I've been busy with.
My partner, whom I've been assigned to, isn't a Turk, rather just a client, of sorts. She uses a shotgun like me...but I'm better~
Every time I board the helicopter to our next destination, I'm reminded of you and Nancy. I miss taking rides in Nancy, just zipping around the continent. These helicopters, though, aren't like yours. They have no machine guns they can't maneuver like Nancy can. In fact, most of them went to pieces after each drop. *sigh* No one can build 'em like Shinra can~ <3
I hope you enjoy your Christmas, and don't get too drunk! You don't want to be too influenced by Rude and Hin, baby~
I'm gonna be stuck working, haha~
