If I can ask you one thing, it's that you support and continue to support Ukraine. 3 years of being attacked by russia is awful. But remember, russia actually started to attack Ukraine in 2014. That’s 11 years. It's so so important we show our support.
Donate if you can, and listen to Ukrainians.

More sources from Ukraine 🗣️
Last year we had a lecture and workshop from a professor from Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, this feels like "hey, I know this university"
I'm doing research for my thesis. The way I vibrate at high frequency (figuratively) when I find a Ukrainian source is insane

Promote Ukraine, a Brussels initiative for supporting Ukraine, is hosting a rally this Sunday. I was going, I had everything prepared, but now there's a chance I may have to drive my mom to/from the hospital that day. Fuck me ig

My newest attempt at learning Ukrainian is translating beginner stories in Dutch to Ukrainian. You see, I used to study speech-language therapy and I've done several internships where I worked with children with learning dissabilities and developmental disorders. I have a collection from that time of stories for children who are just starting out learning to read Dutch.
What I do is take one of these stories (they're from kleuteridee.nl):

And try to write them in Ukrainian:
Що це? Це риба Риба тонка? Риба жирна!
Риба є в акваріум? Риба на сковороді? Риба в мішку Як смішно
Риба в акваріум з гілкою Акваріум тече Це тупо!
An important thing here is that I can practice with the keyboard too :]
#i hope the translation is correct#that's the only problem: i'm never 100% sure of it#these stories can help me with prepositions#that is always difficult for me#lanblr#n reports#i love fish btw

Self care is yelling absolute gibberish when you are trying to sing along to a song that you don't know the lyrics of and you don't speak the singers language and you don't know what the song is about but fuck damn it's a banger

I have respect for Ukrainians learning English, all the things I find difficult in English grammar just don't exist in Ukrainian so this is incredibly easy and fun, but the opposite must be hell 😭

Today I focused on present tense - теперішній час
There are two conjugations. I'm not 100% sure how to determine which verb follows which, but I'm guessing it has something to do with whether the infinitive ends with -ити or not?

The best way for me to pick up words in Ukrainian has been from things like reading Apolly's (my friend) tweets, listening to songs, visiting the bob snail website, seeing memes in Ukrainian etc

Something surprising to me about learning Ukrainian is the German loan words. I did NOT expect my 2 years of German class be useful here o.o

Now that it turns out that duolingo agreed to clear all LGBTQ+ references in their app in russia just to appease that sh*tshow of a country, I'm gathering some different ways to learn Ukrainian. That means this blog will need some changes!

Since most of my followers here are Ukrainian, do any of you know of a website or something where I can find Ukrainian stories for children/beginning readers?
