Leave Taylor Swift ALONE

She’s a successful, beautiful and talented woman that’s thriving in a male dominated industry. With any successful person comes hate and online trolls, but I’ve noticed that people love to hate Taylor Swift. I haven’t seen one valid argument as to why people hate her. In no way shape or form is she perfect, but she’s not a bad person.

Some say she only writes about her ex boyfriends and uses men just to write breakup songs. All I have to say to that is you’re just misoginistic. Keep that same energy for Bruno Mars, for Ed Sheeran, for Justin Bieber, for Shawn Mendes. But no, y’all reserve that criticism for women.

I’ve seen people say she’s calculated. Literally shut up.That’s all.

People say that her activism is performative. While I do think she could do better, I firmly believe she’s not performative. She’s made petitions, spoke out about things, supported the LGBTQ+ community through songs and music videos. She talked about it a little in her documentary Miss Americana, saying how she was scared to speak out in fear of losing fans. I’ve seen some people say that “That means she knew her fans were republican!” you’re so annoying. Having that big of a following is a huge deal, and it’s horrifying. She could not speak out for the 2016 election, because she was cancelled and everyone was hopping on the Taylor Swift hate train, it would have done more harm than good, and some people just don’t get that. 

“Her feminism is toxic”. If you have this mindset, you obviously don’t know the first thing about feminism and I suggest you educate yourself. 

“I’m a ____ fan” Why would you hate someone just because her and your favourite artist were in a feud five years ago. It is not in any way okay to bully someone on the internet and real life. Some people think that because they’re anonymous that gives them the right to hate on someone. IT DOESN’T.

“She’s too skinny” I’m not even kidding when I say I’ve seen people say this. What kind of insecure, disgusting person feels the need to comment on anyone’s bodies. Body shaming is a real issue everywhere, especially for women and feminine people. Demi Lavato has body shamed Taylor, along with her friends in the past. They’ve spoken against body shaming, and then bodyshamed taylor which is SO hypocritical.

Malina is a horrible ship (In my opinion)

**THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE SHADOW AND BONE TRILOGY**

I don’t understand how people ship Malina, like in my eyes they’re closer to siblings. It’s so weird to me.

Firstly, I feel like Mal and Alina were sort of codependent. I get being in a new place where nobody knows you, but even before, they could not be separated. And like, just as Alina was adjusting to her place in the little palace, Mal comes along. That scene in the book infuriated me. I don’t care if he thought she forgot about him, he was horrible to her. And I don’t care what happened to him, it’s no excuse to treat someone that way, especially your “best friend”.

Mal really got on my nerves in Siege and Storm. She had been through so much, (yeah i know he did too but i’m not talking about that) and he wanted her to go back to her old self. I don’t know about you but that’s just selfish, and so inconsiderate. Like when he went to kiss her (or grab her hand it was either one) she flinched, and he got angry. Like no wonder she flinched, she’s literally been through so much in such a short amount of time. She just figured out she got powers, was practically kidnapped by the darkling, almost got killed twice, and then was manipulated for months, all while thinking the love of her life was done with her. And when she was seeing the darkling in her vision type things, she couldn’t tell Mal, and instead of Mal comforting her, he literally shook his head and walked out. Then when they broke up he went and kissed Zoya, the girl he slept with in the first book. I don’t give a crap if they were broken up, it’s a horrible thing to do. Mal constantly acted as if she forced him to go with her. It was HIS choice and if he didn’t like it, he should not have gone with her. One time, he asked her to go to the lake (I think it was a lake) and she had a meeting at the time he wanted her to go. An important one. He threw a little tantrum because she wouldn’t leave her duties to spend time with him. She’s literally running the little palace. 

There’s plenty more circumstances where their relationship was so toxic and unbearable. So in conclusion, I fucking hate Mal.

Why I Hate Cal Calore

Cal Calore is literally the most infuriating character in Red Queen. Here’s why.

(These are just my opinions)

1. First of all, none of the pain and trauma would have happened if Cal hadn’t gotten her a job. Yes, he was trying to help her, but he made her life worse. Adding to that point, he was the one that stopped her from getting away. If he had let her go she would’ve escaped, and none of it would have ever happened. 

2. Cal thinks that people with red blood should have rights, but refuses to do anything to change the way the system works. He thinks there’ll be war, but there’s war anyway. I’ve seen some people call him a ‘red ally’ when he literally wont do anything to help them. His position as future king would have given him the perfect opportunity to change the country.

3. He acted like his life was so hard. Cal refused to acknowledge his privileged life, and instead, threw a self pity party because he didn’t get to choose his wife.

4. He tortured Mare’s friends right in front of her. It seems like everyone just forgot about that part. I don’t care if he ‘had to’ do it for his kingdom, it doesn’t make him any less bad. I find it funny that Cal stans will hate on Maven for killing a baby (Not condoning it, that was so disgusting) But won’t care about the fact that Cal literally tortured her friends in front of her face. I also don’t care if he felt bad about it, he still did it.

5. He’s boring. I’m sorry, he is. I cannot even fathom how people like that man, and it can’t be for his looks because he’s words on paper. I just could not vibe with him.

6. I think it was an hour or something after Shade’s death, when Cal literally yelled at her. I don’t care if she was starting to go down a bad path, HE BERATED HER AN HOUR AFTER HER BROTHER DIED. And then, adding on to that, he didn’t go to his funeral. That’s the lowest of lows right there. 

7. In war storm, he promised Mare that he wouldn’t take back the kingdom, and everything was fine. Then he backtracked and took back the kingdom. He literally was trying to manipulate her to go with him. He would even have to have a CHILD with Evangeline. He didn’t take into consideration Mare or Evangeline’s feelings, he only cared about himself. 

8. He kissed Mare when she was betrothed to Maven. I don’t really need to explain to you guys why it’s wrong. He sucks
