Y’know now that i’m playing kentucky route zero again the ways that it and disco elysium explore how capitalism destroys things (community, ppl, life etc) is so fascinating

Been playing Kentucky Route Zero lately and god this game is so good right now this is like. The opposite of any game I've played? It reminds me of Disco Elysium a LOT in it's mood and structure and themes but it's even less like... there's no *plot* but it still feels incredibly cohesive? It feels like a poetry collection, honestly, where there's little vignettes that all add so much to the emotion of a piece but isn't really meant to be read as a whole story? I'm just wrapping up Chapter 2 and I adore this game so far. Love the Museum of Dwellings a ton, and the Elkhorn Mine segment was REALLY good.

Every review I've seen of the Electric State movie doesn't mention Michelle being queer like in the book so I assume the movie didn't have that as part of her character. Does that count as queer erasure? Specifically lesbian erasure?

Edit: Thought about it a little and maybe they didn't wanna tackle the part in the book where a lunatic priest converts her lover and Michelle breaks down at her feet. Too cowardly to portray a priest as an asshole.

I fucking hate Netflix why did Simon Stalenhag let them fumble the Electric State. Especially after Prime did such a phenomenal job with Tales From The Loop. Why. Why would you make a story about desolation and corporate greed into helping the corporate mascots save the day from Bad Guys™
