Tbh the Good Place would work if Micheal just let them keep their memories but take out all resources they had when they discovered, I mean, imagine how scary it would be, be on a totally new, dystopian neighboorhood, only with some people (that would eventually fight off and maybe eat each other in order to suppress hunger) and never die, live forever in that hell hole, never feeling a long lasting positive emotion again (assuming they would stop giving them food and fresh water, but still getting infections etc etc, maybe even make their bodies to never feel satiated), it's a way scarier thought than being physically tortured, maybe even playing with their insecurities and all,

the problem is that eventually they would adapt, so sometime disrupting their peace, maybe make a kind of Hunger games type of stuff, making them fight over food and water (just enough to feed one person) just to entertain the demons, cause all this idea was for the pleasure of seeing humans being tortured canonically, a prize like giving them hope of going to the good place or just the medium one (in this scenario Janet wouldnt be helping them obviously) would be good as well to fuck them

Emotionally it would be good to make them fight a lot or something like that, probably they would choose to stick together, so just making petty fights happen would help wonders, but cause they're my little pony kind of philosophy it wouldnt work, separating each one for torturing traditionally would help, especially if they got a PTSD and grew colder, but it wouldnt be of need, cause the situation would already be bad enough to fuck their personalities over
