I agree with Kirsten. Of all things you could be interested in, Anna, even clothes wise, you like undies? I know it's bloomers and petticoats which are not revealing at all but still for the time that was naughty stuff. And you tell her to imagine her getting dressed in the room? Just an extremely Normal thing to say

Reminder they want to increase the budget for ICE from 3.5 to 45 billion dollars.

Reminder the majority of that will be for building new detention centers.

Reminder ICE are *currently* detaining tourists who can pay for a plane ticket home and people with visa issues that were already resolved, because they have to make quota so Trump can brag about the numbers going up.

Reminder most of these people were already in the immigration system - that's why they were easy to detain.

Reminder this is all at taxpayer expense.

Reminder these are people.

Sexism in ICE arrests Nobody is talking about this disturbing trend

I am really disturbed with the ICE running amok and arresting people But I am particularly disturbed with how women are being treated. Why? Well, here are a few recurring things that come off as sexist or gross:

When women are being taken, they're getting tied up. Way less men seem to be getting tied up. And when I say tied up, I don't mean "oh handcuffing them", I mean putting them in literal chains, usually chaning them like a cocoon, their entire body, as if they were mental patients wearing a straightjacket, but also with their legs and feet tied. So, basically. Fetish and bondage level.

2. The women are being put in prisons and facilities where it's either only women or mostly women. Are men being put in male-only facilities, and if so how many men are gender segregated vs women?

3. It's mostly women who are getting searched. Men are too, but I mostly am seeing women get searched.

And get this, the female officers are fine with this and don't think that these things are even slightly weird.

This is happening, don't believe me? Look at all these women in the same situation:

Even the rare time when a woman or girl is not being sexually assaulted, she is still being abused:

I'm so sorry for being mean, but for anyone who prefers Gen 1 Jinafire over Gen 3 Jinafire, you have terrible taste.

This isn't just involving the racial stereotyping or the golden skin/fire-breathing thing; her design literally sucks ass in Gen 1.

Granted, Jinafire in Gen 3 isn't perfect either, but at least she was designed by an actual Chinese person to look more appealing and casual than...whatever Gen 1 tried to do with her.

There were more Asian characters in G1. Euna would be one if they didn't cancel the movie she was planned to be in. Amanita is Indonesian (she is a monster based on a flower native to Indonesia)

criminals (or "criminals") no matter how small the crime is

(and yes murderers are bad. that one of all the REAL crimes gets me the most if only because in that case it LITERALLY is hypocrisy because in that case the feds are doing the EXACT SAME THING and are stooping to the criminals' level. Punishing murder by murdering. At least with other crimes, it's not doing the same thing. With the exception of say pdflia/rape/cannibalism, all other crimes are tame and do warant punishment of some kind but not "you must be destroyed". And before some fools say anything. It has nothing do do with "sympathizing with criminals and bad people over the people they harmed" bcuz I would say this for anyone who was sentenced to death for any reason

and especially until it's:

soldiers, politicians, and even civilians alike if it's the "enemy" during a war (think german/japanese/sometimes italian/jews/russians in ww1 and ww2, vietnamese/laotians/cambodians in the 60s, arabs in the 2000s, russians/ukrainians/israelis/palestinians RIGHT NOW, and likely north and all koreans/chinese people in the future)

It's ridiculous how many exceptions to "thou shall not kill" people can come up with.

Ok, this is really late but I was going through your art because I like your art style and was wondering something with your Haunted Mansion/Phantom Manor stuff. If I may ask, why did Natalie kidnap Melanie and threaten to kill her in that one pic? I did read her backstory and she didn't seem to be evil. Is she actually evil? Does she do this a lot (which if she is, I imagine kidnapping and murdering people is probably her thing)

Natalie isn’t evil, no. But she hasn’t been treated very well in her life, having been sold off by her father to work in the mineshafts so he could start a new life off the frontier (hence why her thing is dynamite and she’s all scarred up).

She’s more outlaw with a heart of gold? Anti-hero, not a big fan of wealthy land barons kinda character. Melanie caught her by surprise since Nat is technically on the run as a fugitive for blowing up the mine where she worked, killing her ‘employer’, and freeing the miners working as indentured slaves there. So Natalie doesn’t exactly want Mel to go run off blabbing about her being in town when she’s trying to lay low. She doesn’t have the cleanest hands, but when it comes to this interaction in particular she’s all talk.

Great question! I love Natalie a lot and I should draw her again soon :)

MH fans, I notice how much you love to complain that Jina constantly has Chinese flute music play and how it's stereotypical to do such a thing. Which, fair. But... you purposefully seem to like singling her out as if she was the ONLY character to have that happen. Many characters have had cultural music associated with them. But you are fine with cultural music UNTIL it's Jina. I think that's weird. If you really think it's saying "See! She's from a certain culture!! Do you get it yet??", then you should have a problem with

Cleo constanty having that weird Egyptian flute/oboe music

Lorna having bagpipes play constantly (and I have seen several Scots already say her accent was terrible)

Operetta having banjo music, especially when she shouldn' be southern in the first place

Abbey who at least one time had vaguely Indian/South Asian music play when she talked (I think in a movie)

Organ music playing every time Transylvania appears

Honey having jazz play all the time because "Get it! She's black/Cajun!!!"

I think Skelita had mariachi music play but I could be wrong

Yes some of these are not CULTURAL technically bu are stereotypically associated with certain groups of people (organ for Romanians, banjo for southerners, especially if they're depicted as gross rednecks, jazz, which while made by black people is stereotyped as the "black" music and what black people will get f not rap)

You can’t win as a woman in fiction. Be too positive, you become a Mary Sue, have flaws and those flaws are why almost nobody likes you. Be moderate, you have wet-cabbage personality, be exuberant, you are an unrealistic example. Have strong morals, and you’re badly developed, be morally corrupt and you’re hated with such vigour fans will send hate mail to the actress who plays the character. Be kind and soft and in love, you’re a representation of sexism, be cruel, harsh and cold and you’re just a bitch. Be a complex, realistic, ambiguous character, and either your flaws or your positive traits will be ignored or blown out of proportion and into oblivion. There is no winning for female characters.
