Love Story: Wedding Preparations by Andreas Nakkerud Via Flickr: Dogwood Photography 2019 Weekly Challenge
We spent a whole day crafting custom place cards and seating maps. This is a picture of the place cards lined up for all the glue to dry.

#noFilter by Andreas Nakkerud Via Flickr: Dogwood Photography 2019 Weekly Challenge, Week 6
This picture was taken under a sodium streetlight near my home. I had spotted the sign earlier in the day, and hoped it would look cool in the deep yellow light. The background city lights were an unexpected bonus.

Symmetry by Andreas Nakkerud Via Flickr: Dogwood Photography 2019 Weekly Challenge, Week 5
The topic of week 5 was “Composition: Symmetry Landscape”. This was a particularly hard challenge for a busy city dweller, but I did manage to find this quite symmetric tree in a local park. The row of very similar trees in the background also form a translation symmetry pattern. Maybe this picture is a bit on the edge of compliance with the challenge, but in the end I’m quite happy with it.

Warmth by Andreas Nakkerud Via Flickr: Dogwood Photography 2019 Weekly Challenge, Week 4
The topic for week 4 was warmth. We visited Amsterdam over the weekend, and I was hoping to find some cute animals huddling in the January chill. Seems the weather wasn’t cold enough for the animals that chose to stay outside their shelters, so I went back to one of my original ideas instead: our dog escaping the winter chill, relaxing on the sofa under a blanket.

Black&White by Andreas Nakkerud Via Flickr: Dogwood Photography 2019 Weekly Challenge, Week 3
This picture was taken from my balcony. The tower is an observation tower for the local train depot. The restaurant barely visible to the left of the tower is the Ekeberg Restaurant, overlooking the Oslo fjord. The picture is taken at 30 seconds exposure with an 11 stop ND filter. I wanted to take the picture at an even longer exposure, but I don’t yet have a remote for proper BULB-mode photography.

Motion+Rule of Thirds by Andreas Nakkerud Via Flickr: Dogwood Photography 2019 Weekly Challenge, Week 2
After over an hour in the cold and dark, on a bridge over tracks east of Oslo Central Station, I was giving up on getting my desired shot of trains entering and leaving the station. I got some nice pictures, but none of them had the composition I was hoping to get. As I was packing up, facing failure in week 2 of the challenge, I heard a plane overhead. For fun I set my camera to full auto, zoomed in, tried to track steady, and took a picture. The viewfinder went dark. In my confusion, I kept tracking blind. Then the shutter clicked again. The camera had set the shutter speed to 3.2 seconds. I shook my head and waited for processing of the image. I’m very happy with the result.

Self-non-portrait by Andreas Nakkerud Via Flickr: Dogwood Photography 2019 Weekly Challenge, Week 1
The task of the week was to take a self portrait that does not show my face. I have chosen to show a pile of books on my work and interests, with a backdrop from the living room I share with my fiancée, showing our collection of board games.
