Just a thought about Sasha

Once, a long time ago on Tumblr, I remember reading about how Isayama’s editor was very upset he killed her back around the Female Titan arc was concluding. Something like that. (Chapter 36? Episode 27) and I was thinking ever since those days, Sasha was going to have to die sooner or later. And there were so many times after her planned death that she came in clutch and made amazing improvements as a character and provided wonderful interactions with the others that if she had died earlier than now, the show would be very different. She had skills like archery that was just far better than the rest of the squad. And after seeing her snipe in the recent episodes, I felt it in my stomach and in my chest, her time was coming. And now she is gone. And those beautiful on the side moments of her with Connie and Jean and Mikasa, just everyone, it hurts more now than if she died back in chapter 36. I’m just rambling. But she really was a character we all could relate to on some level and love. She was a strong and beautiful character. And she stayed that lovable ‘potato-girl’ til the end. 

“Meat”.

It has been awhile since I’ve felt this heartbroken about a character. Fuck you Isayama. You made it hurt a lot more.

The moment has come.

For me this is the moment when everything stops being the same.

Not when Eren leaves paradise.

It's when Sasha takes her last breath and everything starts getting more dark in the world of snk

When this happened in the manga I spent days feeling sad.

Sasha had the purest heart of all

It's hard when a character as loving and warm-hearted as Sasha dies in such a cold and violent way.

It's difficult to let go of a character that you, as a reader, feel so close.

Because Sasha was from the beginning a character that somehow I felt like I wanted to protect and one of the things I love most about snk is Sasha and Connie's relationships. I am so grateful to see in an anime a soulmate relationship between a girl and a boy with no romance in between and It breaks my heart to think of Connie 😭😭

But the story must go on...

And at the end I'm actually really thankful that it was Gabi. A kid victim of war. A kid who lost her friends in front of her eyes and who saw her home being destroyed.

Sasha's death was a necessary death. Despite being unfair and cruel and heartbreaking, this had to happen...

But I miss her so much already :'(
