Its been a while since i felt like commenting on holby but does anyone else see a spark between dom and louis

“Hey, are you still awake?”

“Barely,” Callum grunts, then realises his mistake and rolls over. Ben’s outlined in gold from the light of his lamp, and his forehead is crinkled with worry. Callum musters what strength he has to reach out a hand and touch there. “What’s wrong?”

“Thinking too much.”

“Yeah? What about?”

Ben rolls his eyes. “World peace, what’dya think?”

“Right,” Callum says, because he deserves that. Ben’s first appointment with the surgeon is tomorrow. The reality of the cochlear implant is hitting harder. “Sorry. I told ya I’d go with ya. I mean it.”

“I know you do. Just - last time I took it out on you and I don’t want to do that again.”

“It’s alright - ”

“No it ain’t,” Ben insists fiercely, rolling onto his back so he can sit up higher in bed. “You’re not my personal punching bag.”

“It’s major surgery, Ben,” Callum tells him once he’s sat up too, reaching out to grab at Ben and seizing his hand. “You’re allowed to be scared.”

“It’s not surgery yet,” he says quietly, tangling their fingers together. “It’s just all the talking. Which is worse because they’re all useless at that.”

“That’s why I’ll go with you. Translate.”

“No. They can write it down if they have to.”

“Then I’ll just be there to hold ya hand,” Callum says with a smile, tightening his grip on Ben. Ben is biting and firm when he says, 

“I said no, Callum,” fixing him with a look. Callum doesn’t back down. 

“Yeah but you haven’t told me why. Not properly.”

“It’s just so much harder with you there,” Ben blurts out, like he’s been holding onto it for a while. Everything about him softens, his chin falling to his chest as he admits, “I just - I want things to be better for you, I want to be better for you.”

Callum feels the words like voltage, shocking him further up and closer in. “This ain’t about me,” he says, having lifted Ben’s face with a gentle finger to get him to look. “Or us. It’s about you.”

“You are me,” Ben says, almost gasping, “Without you I - ”

Callum crashes their mouth together with a kiss, untangling their hands so he can run his fingers through Ben’s hair, and keep hold. “You won’t be without me. Never.”

“Please, Callum,” Ben says, a little breathless now. “Just this once. I’ll come to the parlour straight after.”

Callum shakes his head but he’s not disagreeing, Ben's face ins his hand when he pleads with him, “Promise me you’ll tell me if you change your mind? I’ll be there for you.”

Ben lets out a little huff of a laugh, taking Callum’s shirt in his hands. “You’re always there for me, babe,” he says, kissing Callum again but with soft, pliant lips and lingering breath.

Callum lets his eyes flutter closed. “Always.”

Okay this is just some thought:

I get (somewhat) that they seem to want the cop storyline for Callum to be happening in tandem with the Keegan storyline. But wouldn't it have been a more intriguing story if they had a Person of Color int the cop role. For example Issac Baptiste's character, instead of having him be a teacher, have him either a cop or training to be one. I think it would have been a more interesting perspective to have a Person of Color confront the dilemma of wanting to be someone who is meant to "protect and serve" but can't deny the racial profiling/ racism that exists with in the system. Seeing his inner turmoil and how he he confronts and gradually overcomes the dilemma would be way more interesting to watch. But what do I know....

I just never really bought into Callum wanting to be a police officer since he basically lied to get out of the army. The scene with him bashing his leg with the bottle while Ben looked on spotting someone with similar inner pain ( which btw for me it's where Ben's feelings for Callum first sparked). And I don't believe that him being gay and not wanting to see Chris again is the sole reason he lied about his injury. He could have put in for a transfer (for example). And he was always depicted as being a pretty nonconfrontational guy, with well pretty much everyone except maybe Ben. And while I absolutely love his progression as a character getting more confident, standing up for himself, can take care of himself. I still don't think 'Cop' for Callum. I will (as always) trust the journey and see where it all leads. Hopefully it will bring us closer to a PTSD storyline, as maybe he wanted to be a cop to try and appease some missed placed feelings of guilt, maybe. Will shall see how it all Pans out.

However hard it was to watch the lads arguing last night, i think it was vital for callum to get his emotions out. Hes been bottling everything up, focusing everything on ben, with noone to offload on. Hes equally as stressed as ben and the way ben spoke to him last night was the last straw. He may be the most level headed, calm little bean alive but everybody has a breaking point and both boys were pushed to theirs last night

The guy who killed paul is called simon, do we reckon if the new simon comes back and he and callum become friends ben will freak about it coz of the name and the reminder of paul

So the This Morning EE preview featured Ben, Phil and Lisa talking about going Lisa taking Louise to the Portuguese villa to stop her cracking(which Phil was against). Ben had pensive face the entire time and clearly agreed with Lisa, until Phil turned on him and accused him of going behind his back to set it up, which he denied immediately. Obviously. But its clear where this week is heading. Ben’s getting sick of Phil’s shit and disagreeing with him about pretty major things, even if he can’t vocalise it yet. We know Phil tries to corral them all into going by Friday but the cracks are beginning to show, and thank fuck for that. Escape his evil grasp Ben!

I’m fine with Phil ending up alone, he’s never try to change and grow even after all these years. He dug his own grave.

But Ben and Louise, there is still a chance for them, won’t be ok with Phil taking his children down with him.
