This is showing value because each photo has a different shade of grey. It shows the lights and darks and the effects of each on the photo. Also it shows value by showing fading of different shades of grey/black.

This shows shape because there are so many! The main shape of the object in the middle is very interesting, but there are other shapes behind, complementing it. Also there are a mix of round, straight and square objects in the photo.

This photo is showing texture. Although it  was a flat photo, the texture of the pearls and the smoothness of the woman's skin shows texture indirectly. Also the flower petals show texture.

This is a photo from the light assignment. The light behind is poking through the trees and looks almost sparkly. Because of that small amount of light, it is highlighting her hair and the color of her skin looking warmer and brighter. Also the green in the background contrasts with her light parts of her hair.

The original photo is "Eggshells" from the Signs of Life collection 1975-1978 by Olivia Parker. The picture below is my emulate or remake of her photo.

This is "Pods of Chance" (1977) by Olivia Parker. The big peas she used were hard to find, but by using snap peas I made them look as close as possible. I lined them up the same way on a destroyed looking background and added a frame to give it the same effects as her photo. Also I tried to make the peas lighter than the rest to stand out the most similar to her photo.

I made this photo of mailboxes vintage by changing specific colors and adding a texture on top. I also turned it black and white before doing this for more of an effect and finally added a post crop vignette. The original photo was bright colored and had contrast, but I changed it to a vintage look. I also think that the vintage photo looks a lot better and it makes the mailboxes look as old as they did in person.

Miami Portrait | Mike the Sword Swallower | Jeffery Salter Miami Based People photographer on location in Miami Florida Jeffery Salter photographs Advertising, commercial and portrait photography for editorial magazines and lifestyle commissions. He is based in South Florida, near Miami Beach. Many interesting photos that are meant to entertain the viewer. A lot of his photos seem almost surreal but are supposed to look like they could be realistic. Also on his blog, photographs are shown of many comical things that are composed together to make an interesting photo. He also has many different collections of photos that are enjoyable and relatable that made his blog seem really interesting to me.

The first picture is the original picture i took the subject out of. The second is the original picture of the wall. The last is my finished  composition photo. By taking a picture of someone that would fit in with another picture being a background image, I cut the girl out of her original picture of the blue wall and basically pasted her onto the other graffiti one. It was a long process making sure every small hair and detail was included when selecting her to be copied. I think this picture looks accurate and real. I asked my dad if this photo looked photo shopped and he said that he would not have been able to tell unless I told him it was cut and photo shopped.

This is a photo of a neon sign in my favorite store, Marc Jacobs. I loved the colors and different patterns inside of the big letters so that is why I chose to photograph it. Also, the background was mostly dark blues and black so I thought it contrasted very nicely and made the colors even more vibrant. It is a very busy photo and I like it a lot because it almost represents the store as a whole.

This is a picture of an old antique teacup. I loved the colors and it was so small in person. Also it was one of a kind in a tea set so I chose to take a picture of it. Also it was in a small cake shop downtown during our fieldtrip. The lighting was also cool inside the place because it made the tea set look even more antique.

This is a picture from the light assignment. It is my sister holding a big, bright red leaf in front of her hazel eyes. The light from the background blurred out the trees but brightened her face and skin. Also it was a bit cloudy outside so the light was not too harsh and created a clean look to the person being photographed. I think this photo suggests that the girl loves nature because she is surrounded by it and also holding it. The colors are very bright and interpret the way autumn feels, pretty. Also the light reflecting onto her skin really makes her eyes pop and the color of the leaf contrasts with her eyes.

This is a photo from the portrait assignment. The girl is standing next to a tree with green in it and is looking up to emphasize her green eyes. Also, she is wearing white so her hair and eyes can easily contrast because I wanted her face to be the main focus of the photo. A girl in my photo class, Stephanie, said that the girl here looks like she is very focused on something. She said that the white sweater makes her stand out in the midst of the trees. She thinks that in this photo the subject is exploring the forest because she is looking up into the trees. She said the subject looks curious about something above because of her facial expression. She said that there is not much else around her to figure much more out about this photo. I think this photo suggests that the girl is almost curious in the woods looking for something. She also seems kind of lonely and scared.

This is a portrait picture of my friend dancing. I loved the fact that she was dancing outside because I would think that normally this would be unusual. Also she is wearing black and pink so she stands out from the rest of the background. We did her makeup a little differently so it could look almost dramatic. I think this photo suggests that the girl is using dance as her escape from reality. She is in her neighborhood with the neighbors and people behind her but she is dancing to take her mind off it which can also be seen by her passionate expression.
