Shinwha's Eric and Na Hae Mi welcome second son, shares first update
Tumblr media
Eric, member of the group Shinhwa, and actress Na Hae Mi recently welcomed their second son, and Na Hae Mi has now shared her first update since giving birth.
Tumblr media
On April 14th, Na Hae Mi posted a photo to her personal social media account, showing newly installed car seats for her two children.
“We received car seats for both our first and second child as a gift,” she wrote. “I was amazed to see that the infant carrier could be directly attached to the stroller—it’s going to be so convenient when I’m out with our second. Our first is older now, so we switched him to a toddler seat. I feel both excited and reassured thinking about going out with both kids.”
She added, “Can’t believe I have two babies now,” reflecting on her growing family.
Na Hae Mi gave birth to their second son at a maternity clinic on March 19th. She and Eric married in 2017 after five years of dating. They welcomed their first son in 2023 and their second in 2025. Eric was the first member of Shinhwa to get married, followed by Jun Jin and Andy.
Eric debuted with Shinhwa in 1998 and gained popularity not only as a singer but also through hit dramas such as Another Miss Oh and Discovery of Love. Na Hae Mi began her acting career in 2001 with the film Address Unknown and rose to fame through the MBC sitcom Unstoppable High Kick.

I must confess that...
A few years ago I had to get away from Kpop, I had to distance myself from this genre of music.
The culprit? Yesung
Tumblr media
I developed real feelings for him…yes…I confess…I stopped seeing him as an artist, and I began to see him as someone to reach out to love.
No…I wasn't a sassaeng, I wasn't a stalker, I wasn't anything harmful to him…I just wrote him letters through an app while he was in the army, I replied to his tweets and little else. But I became obsessed with him
This will be long, it`s a personal text that I need to write, present it and feel free. So if you don't want to continue, don't open...
Back then, for a European fan, sending a gift to your idol in South Korea was impossible! Unless you knew someone who could get you a little closer to him.
I remember those years, being studying and dropping everything when something about him came up, I thought about him, I dreamed about him, everything was him…I looked for photos from day to day…I didn't realize how obsessed, lost and alone I was until there was a detonation.
At that time, I had a relationship with a friend, who got me into this whole world of K-pop, who only focused her life on going to South Korea and meeting SUJU, during that time we met a third person, well, it was the one who said before, the one who knew people who brought you closer to the idol.
We forged a friendship with her, and everything became chaos.
Suddenly, that friend started to ignore me, and when the three of us were talking, I was a flowerpot.
At one point, they decided to go to South Korea together, and I asked them to help me deliver a bracelet made by me to Yesung, in those days he was in Mouse & Rabbit day in and day out.
They told me yes, that they would give it to him, and even that they would give him some gifts from them.
But…what happened? They gave them their gifts but not mine.
That was the trigger…
After a few days, where they were talking to me about how beautiful everything was there, that he was charming, that they went to the cafeteria like 5 times while he was there, that he really liked their gift, that they couldn't give him my gift and my letter because every day they forgot it at the hotel, etc, etc. I broke the friendship, I broke the relationship.
Suddenly I became a child, a crazy person and I began to receive unpleasant and mocking comments, and I began to develop a state of fear of being made fun of, fear of not being understood, that if they couldn't do me that favor, in addition that they had almost erased me as a friend, I couldn't trust them, and I found myself alone
I understood then that my relationship was not true, at 27 years old, I had not realized the details, those around me told me that I had no life except if I saw through the eyes of that person, my friend, that I had gotten into an obsessive world .
The fact that they didn't give him the gift was the last straw, but in reality, it was three years that I almost lost my university studies, focused on someone I didn't know, obsessed with that idol because of a person who, feeling surrounded by me, she interpreted it as if I were a person to throw her misery at, closing the world to me, and using something I liked as a bait, to keep me at her side, until a third person appeared, more interesting, who did that she would forget my friendship, and therefore, relegate me to a piece of paper to throw away when it is no longer useful.
So, after breaking up the relationship, receiving hatred and bad wishes towards me and my family, I fell into depression.
For one year, I sat there, watching how those people continued to be happy, making their dreams of meeting their idols come true, watching how they continued as if I had not existed.
I was still determined that Yesung receive my bracelet, which cost me around €200 between materials, engravings and so on.
So a scammer appeared. She told me that she understood my story and that she would help me.
She lied, stole my bracelet and disappeared.
So, devastated, I said goodbye to Yesung and the entire Kpop world, I didn't want to live like that, I didn't want to live with obsessive feelings, I didn't want to be a being that people would tear into pieces, I was very distraught, and I wanted to di3.
I remember I started this blog about Yesung 15 years ago! and when all that happened…I deleted everything, I deleted everything from my Twitter account, everything published on my Facebook.
I felt stupid, lost, alone, dejected…
My goodness, what a dark time that was…
Two years later, on Twitter, I don't know how, I heard the news that Shinhwa was returning.
It was very strange, I saw them in a photo, and I started to investigate, and I saw what their fandom was like, and I felt like I was related to them.
In a timid way, I entered the Kpop world again, but deciding on my own, it was very strange.
At home, my family feared that I would go through something similar to the above, but this time, I was alone, it was my decisions, I decided the time, the content, even the money I wanted to invest, there was no one to force me to do anything.
I started creating content about Shinhwa. It was refreshing, their shows, their songs, their comebacks, their history as a group, I think I can say, that they taught me the beautiful side of K-pop.
Little by little, I returned to the genre of music, but being conscious, living consciously, knowing that they are idols, identifying ugly behaviors of fans and keeping them away from me.
Nowadays, on some occasions, very few, I am afraid of seeing some hurtful comment towards me from those people or others related to them, although, after so much time I doubt it, and if it should happen, I have tools to defend myself
Now, I look back and I said goodbye to everything, I fell into depression, I lost my job, my friends, I almost lost my family, all of that combined with serious family problems, I felt like I didn't deserve anything, because I didn't know my worth, I believed that everything was justifiable for a little affection from someone who didn't have a healthy sense of friendship.
I didn't want to live like this, but I learned that not a fan should suffer in an obsessive world, nor do idols deserve that their fans are obsessive, they need their messages, their images, to create free and beautiful feelings.
When I started with a psychologist, I understood that I had to take my life in my hands and shape it.
It didn't go well with that psychologist, she didn't take me seriously, she didn't understand that my anxiety and pain were not a story, so I changed psychologists, and now, after so many years, I'm starting to see a little light that drives me. to look at the world and know that I deserve a job, I deserve friends, I deserve love and I deserve to be free without feeling guilt.
And you will say, why are you writing this today?
because for the first time in 15 years, I have seen a Yesung mv, and I have had free feelings towards him, I have felt calm, I have remembered the warmth that his voice gave me, and I felt happy, because I feel that I have closed a chapter of my life that I had not closed before.
All this that I have written is not related to Yesung, it is related to how some people, knowing your life, your traumas, take advantage of you to be happy.
All of this writing is to tell myself that, although the matter seems like a newborn baby fight, in reality it was a trigger for an unsustainable situation.
So, if you have found yourself in a situation that seems ridiculous, where you explode into the air, and everyone sees you as crazy, I want you to know, no, it is because you have been living a cruel life, without support. , alone, and that ridiculous situation has made you explode to put an end to what does not suit you.
You are strong, those who laugh or look at you like a worn piece of paper are the cowards.
You have value, they don't.
You deserve to continue, go through the shadows and re-emerge.
Everything passes, be patient, seek help, you deserve to smile and be happy
If you have made it this far, thank you

The 1st Generation K-Pop Leader Who Turned Down SM Entertainment’s Lavish Offer In Favor Of His Group [Koreaboo]
Tumblr media
He wasn’t tempted by the cash.
SM Entertainment has consistently remained among the top K-Pop companies for decades, earning millions of dollars yearly. Despite their high earnings and abundant resources, none of that mattered to a leader of one of the company’s groups. Here’s the story of how he turned down all of SM Entertainment’s money just to keep his group together.
Tumblr media
When Shinhwa‘s contracts ended with SM Entertainment after five years together in 2003, the company planned for the group to disband and offered new exclusive contracts to a few members.
Tumblr media
The group’s leader Eric was one of them. Since he had the highest brand value at the time, SM Entertainment offered him over twice as much money to continue as a solo artist. Instead, Eric had a plan of his own.
Tumblr media
Eric held a meeting with the Shinhwa members. He disclosed the staggering amount of money SM Entertainment offered him and his wish to reject all of it for the sake of continuing Shinhwa. Unfortunately, SM Entertainment and other companies wouldn’t make it that simple.
Tumblr media
Although other companies offered Eric contracts with four times the amount of money, he still rejected them all. On top of that, SM Entertainment owned the name Shinhwa and wouldn’t let the group keep it when leaving the company. Like the loyal leader he is, Eric had yet another idea to ruin SM Entertainment’s plans.
"When other companies offered to pay him four times more to go solo and leave the other members, he rejected them by saying that he can’t be separated from the other members." — Kim Dongwan
Tumblr media
Eric founded Good Entertainment where the group could continue on and even made a deal with SM Entertainment that gave the rights to the name back to the members. Unfortunately, SM Entertainment still trademarked the name in 2005, which began a twelve-year legal battle that ended in Shinhwa gaining the rights once again. The group was later able to reclaim the name Shinhwa Company for their self-started company as well.
Tumblr media
Without Eric’s determination to keep the group together, Shinhwa wouldn’t still be going strong over twenty years later. And fans weren’t the only ones thankful for the leader’s efforts.
"Lawsuits were involved, and we had to negotiate a deal. Eric was the one who struggled the most during that time. I’d like to send a special thanks to him." — Kim Dongwan
Tumblr media
On more than one occasion, the members expressed how thankful they were to Eric for keeping them together.
