Dunhuang Mural and practice

I love mural style. If I have any opportunities I will work on repairing mural again. Also, I have gain a lot experience from this course.  I can finish three illustration by myself and I can tell whole grow-up story to my audience. Although I have changed some ideas when I facing trouble. But I can handle all of it.

The Final Version of First illustration.  I have add red deers with the holy-light.

In the bottom, it is the volcano and hell’s hill try to swallow her. But she  is protected by her parents hands.

The bubble means her faith is arounding her. She is not alone. And the gray rabbit means her friends always trying to give her a hand.

I have add more Phoenix and symbol on this illustration.  The wind, cloud, means trouble that she is facing to. And we can see that her clothes is blow up by wind. The fire cloud is lighting her body and hair. This illustration is the process of how she makes stronger.

This mural give me some ideas. So, first illustration might be a girl is flying in the sky, all in all, that is her childhood. She is protected by her parents hands at the same time. In addition, I also want to draw some deer around her. Because in Buddhism deer means long-life. In legend, deer also means the happiness’ serve.

This is my rough ideas about second illustrations. We can see a girl is facing the sky and her dress is blown up by wind. This is also means she is facing the challenge future, the wind is future also. And the birds behind the cloud means the unknown staffs she might meet up.

This is one of my pratice-Fahai temple mural repair. I quite like the special style of clouds.

Dunhuang Mural examples.

These mural all about some interesting Buddhism stories and the investors who donated the mural and hired the mural painter. All the lines should be drawn by just one ink! That is really need the experience of painter, they should be very confidence with it.
