Like I get that Naruto just came back from a very harrowing training that was meant to make him hella strong as a sennin but he just came back OP as hell and I think that’s always been my beef with him as a character. Yes he’s always had tenacity and bravery and lots of chakra to spare but he’s had many training arcs in the past and he was always on the cusp of being strong but always failing short and always too immature to really handle his powers bc he was always too hot-headed and rushing into things and now suddenly what? This training just sticks and he finally becomes stronger than his dad and Jiraya? He just stops pain with one hit? Idk man, his growth as a character has always been janky to me

Me when I’m having a psychotic break because the goal I had been working towards (fratricide) turns out to be a carefully webbed lie set up by said victim of fratricide and it leaves me a confused shell of a human being and a shadow of who I used to be because the person I constructed around this vengeful murder plot is full of hate and resentment and the only thing left for me to do so this misplaced and unfortunately induced-by-circumstances anger doesn’t go to waste is to do something drastic (destroy the village that will kindly take me back in after my teenage rebellion years are over and who said victim of fratricide died protecting and which was the initial reason for instilling this deeply rooted hatred in me in the first place)

When I say once the plot of Naruto starts it never stops this is what I mean cause wdym we have Orochimaru death and then sasuke forming hebi, then kabuto fake ambush where he reveals he merged with orochimaru’s cells, then some random pursuit bullshit, then jiraya death, then sasuke and itachi confrontation—it never stops, I’m out of breath

Jiraya dying thinking he didn’t live up to a hero’s legacy and how he failed in everything he tried to accomplish when in reality he touched so many people’s heart and the story would be nothing without his presence in the life of Naruto whom he helped grow as a shinobi and an individual, looking after him when his parents couldn’t. Of minato who he taught with all the passion and kindness in him, nagato, yahiko and konan with whom he stayed and was a comforting, patient and humanizing presence despite the horrors of their village and the people they decided to become. Tsunade who he loved, who he could goof off with, to whom he gave the strength to be the hokage he knew she could be and-and-oh im gonna be sick!!!
