It’s been years, if not ever, since I made something that I fell in love with and couldn’t give it up. This is one of those times. I am awestruck! Best piece I have ever made. The most perfect mistake. And best of all definitely not going anywhere!!! #potteryporn Can you believe this is the same bowl but opposite sides!!!! It’s all a mystery with glazing. Shop update coming this Monday at 9am EST. Get ready!!! All 31 mugs will go live! I also wanted to say hey so the new people who have stumbled onto my page! I’m in the process of transforming my business to better represent my growth and development through the past few years. I have been playing with art since I was young and have delved into any art form I could find. In college I studied ceramics and oceanography as my two main passions. As things shifted I decided to learn more about farming and homesteading which is what I began studying and traveling to learn. Ceramics has always been my favorite but it’s been hard to keep up since I was moving and traveling so much! Now that I’ve taken some space to sit and meditate in one space I can grow back into pottery with new clay, new glaze and new techniques! I love the community studio I have become a part of, I have been in and out for years and I finally took the plunge and made a 4 month commitment and I have been taking it quite seriously! I chose to challenge myself by creating 30 mugs in 30 days and far surpassed what I thought I could do! Ending with 37 total (of which 31 are good quality- and didn’t have any cracks or glaze errors!!) They are all slabbed and hand made without a wheel and then glazed in a tedious multi step process! Next up is bowls! And slowly I will build up a nice set to have all my kitchen goodies match! Stay tuned! Nothing like a good hike in the foothills and some fresh air. Though this was from last week before it was crazy muddy after the rain and snow we just got. 🌲🌲🌲 The amount of people who normally see my posts has been cut in half! Not that life is about followers and likes but wow, I guess I finally realize what the algorithm thing really does to small businesses who attempt to advertise on insta! Yayyyy for mugs, so proud to have accomplished such a great set of 30 colorful mugs in less than 30 days! All unique but all a cohesive set! Simple on the outside just the dark raw clay and the white contrast of the pretty patterns. With a myriad of shiny colors on the inside. Greens, blues, purples and pinks!! There is a filter on these photos but it is more realistic than the original due to the fluorescent lights! I’m really pumped to do a photo shoot of these!
