Over 10,000 hits on my pastebin. And here I was thinking that I sucked shit at writing. Thank you all. As it stands, my break is over. I will soon be attempting to churn something out. I can't say when it will be done, as you all know I take a very long time sometimes. But I'm actively working. :D

FORWARD (For the fluffy pony book compilation)

What counts as a bad fluffy?

Well, that’s what I made Maroon for. That and to exercise my writing skills, which had fallen into disuse. I was rusty.

But what spurred Maroon on may be a bit more interesting to you, reader.

I remember quite a long time ago, a few people in the fluffy pony community were labeling one particularly popular breeder fluffy as a ‘bad fluffy’. Their arguments weren’t especially rooted in logic, as isn’t a person forced into acts of rape also a victim? “Either rape this person, or get one in the head behind the toolshed”, to put it colourfully. Crummy deal, huh? Yet those individuals insisting that this character was a ‘bad fluffy’.

So I said “You guys want a bad fluffy? Fine. I’ll show you a bad fluffy. I’ll give you all a fluffy that is deserving of hate”.

This may seem prideful or presumptuous of me, but I believe I have succeeded. At least for the most part, as there are still those in the fandom who love Maroon. There are even those who have made excuses for Maroon, citing his shaky mental state, especially near the end of the series. Whether you agree with them or not is up to you, reader, (just don’t ask me *MY* opinion, for Christ’s sake).

When I made Maroon, I looked at those very evil individuals in history, those whose deeds were either questionable or outright vile, enactors of genocide and destruction, both goal-oriented and pleasure-driven: Slobodan Milosevic, Genghis Khan, Vlad the Impaler and of course, that one fellow who has made small, square mustaches very unpopular. As for Maroon’s nosebleeds and psychotic rages, I based that heavily off of the depiction of the character known as Angron, from the Warhammer 40k series, ‘The Horus Heresy’.

I could continue on and on, where I got my various ideas for this or that, how I was one of if not the first writer to use the term “Sleep Forever”, and certainly the first to use the term “Owwie Pile” but this is already a rather lengthy intro, at least in my eyes.

  Also, who wants to read a page of ego-wanking?

  I have left the chapters unedited by intention. This will allow you to see how I grew as I wrote the story, how I got better at imitating the ‘Fluffy Lisp’, and writing from the POV of what is in essence a retarded, baby horse-thing.

So, with an apology for taking up your time, for the vile tale you’re about to read, and for those pretentious quotes all the second half of the series, Maroonfall. (I was reading Richard Adam’s “Watership Down” at the time, and thought that if he could get away with it, why, so could I! And I suppose I did, though some of the quotes weren’t all that good.) Enjoy this little tale, reader. And, again, sorry in advance.
