The Schizophrenia Checklist
This is a checklist to help one understand Schizophrenia. One may use it to self-diagnose or as a worksheet to present to a doctor or therapist and better communicate symptoms they are experiencing. All information is taken from the DSM-5.
Section I Must check ONE of the following, each present for a significant portion of time during a one-month period:
I experience delusions.
I experience hallucinations.
I experience disorganized speech patterns, in which I derail from conversation or am incoherent.Â

Must have at least TWO or more checks TOTAL by the end of this section, including ones from previous section (If you checked two above, you donât need to check any below, for example):
I experience disorganized or catatonic behavior.
I experience negative symptoms, such as lack of emotional expression or decrease in motivated to initiate or perform purposeful activities.

Section II Must check ALL of the following:
For a significant portion of the time Iâve been experiencing these symptoms, I have been unable to function in one or more major areas of my life, such as work, school, my relationships with others, and my ability to take care of myself.
I have been experiencing these symptoms on and off for at least six months. In this six-month period, I have spent at least one month in which symptoms were present for most of the time.
I do not experience these symptoms in episodes, such as manic episodes which can be seen in Bipolar Disorder. They are simply persistent regardless of my mood. Any mood episodes Iâve experienced (if any), even depressive episodes, include my psychotic symptoms.
My symptoms have not been caused by substance use or another medical condition.
Section III Common Symptoms and Behaviors Associated (not required for diagnosis):
I have difficulty reading social cues.
I have difficulty perceiving whatâs happening around me.
I have poor memory.
I have difficulty focusing.
I have difficulty expressing myself.
I have experienced my symptoms since childhood or adolescence.Â
I perceive things differently from other people and often remember things differently.
I am frequently depressed and have little hope for my future.
People say I have an odd way of thinking.
I sometimes feel like I can sense people near me, even though no one is there.
I find myself mumbling in public.
I have become more withdrawn since my symptoms began.
I have inappropriate reactions to things sometimes, such as laughing when nothing prompted the response.
I sometimes feel dysphoric, in which I feel my body is not my own.
I experience disturbed sleep patterns.
I have a low appetite.
I experience dissociation.
I have anxiety and/or phobias.
I sometimes interpret events as more meaningful than they actually are.
I remain mostly unaware of my symptoms unless someone points them out to me.
I am often angry.
I am impulsive.
I feel like I process things more slowly than my peers.
I have difficulty knowing the intentions of others.
I have refused treatment or havenât been able to stick with it for very long.

At this point, if you have checked the minimum, you may qualify for a diagnosis of Schizophrenia. If you did not meet the minimum, you may want to look into Bipolar Disorder or other disorders on the schizophrenia spectrum.

one of the biggest lessons capricorns inevitably need to face in their lifetime is learning how to let go of things without losing their lust for life. i think it has to do with the fact that capricorn and its ruling planet saturn are connected to the concept of time and long-term things. itâs difficult for a capricorn to accept stuff doesnât always stay for a long time and they usually see loss a personal failure. the instinctive response to that âfailure�� is âi will never be put again in a situation where i can fail like this, i canât lose again, i need to protect myselfâ. which in normal human language actually means âif i have to let go of shit then i just wonât care about that shit cuz it hurts when i let it go and i donât want to hurt anymoreâ. making yourself not feel anything (or more like pretending you can actually do that) to avoid the fact that things are fleeting and not ETERNAL as the capricornâs disposition feels is natural is a true capricorn mood. and is something a capricorn needs to work on so they can unlock the incredible potential that comes with this sign - the ability to utilize things and make perfect use of them at the perfect moment, this way honoring the precious gift of matter.
itâs very helpful to work on developing the neptune archetype if you want to unlock the gifts of your capricorn/saturn placement. these two planets need to be reconciled in order to access their true potential. capricorns thinks theyâre looking at things through a lense of eternity. but what theyâre actually doing is looking at them through a lense of longevity, of a long life time. they look at things through a lense of time, and eternity isnât about time at all, itâs about being beyond time. this is what neptune teaches us - the grace of letting go becomes natural once youâre able to flow with the universal tides and realize the grandness of it all and the transcendence of everything beyond shape and limitations. saturn needs to learn about the life beyond limitations in order to actually use the limitations for good. and the opposite is true too - neptune needs to learn about the limitations in life in order to actually use the universal flow beyond boundaries for good.
you canât unlock a transcendence of the physical (neptune) if you donât understand and accept matter (saturn).
you canât unlock a mastery of the concept of time (saturn) if you donât understand and accept the concept of eternity (neptune).
to understand limitations, you need to look at the world beyond limitations. and to understand the world beyond limitations, you need to look at the limitations.
iâm saying this all as someone with saturn in pisces in mutual reception with neptune in capricorn, so this is heightened in my chart but in any case regardless of the details of the chart developing saturn and neptune together is a must. theyâre two sides of the same coin.

Apologies for minor anime spoilers below but:
I do appreciate the fact that Edgerunners carries on the idea the game proposes; that cyberpsychosis isn't caused by the amount of things you install into yourself but by things like faulty/poorly-installed cyberware, stress and trauma, and other outside factors like your environment and your mental health. The trailers were making me a bit concerned that it was going to renege on that idea considering they were clearly setting up a more in-depth exploration of cyberpsychosis, but I think they do a good job of explaining that you can't just install heavy-duty military-grade metal into yourself and be done with it. You need medical care, medicine, time to adjust, time to heal. All things you can only get if you've got the money for it, and all things that can easily be taken away if that money suddenly disappears.
