I’ve seen you two in a room together and your reaction says it all.”

“I always have a point, Randy Pandy,” Nate rolled his eyes and sighed. “Maybe I do, maybe I don’t, you’ll never know for sure,” he chuckled. “It’ makes my heart fill up with warmth to know how you really feel about me,” he cooed and then let out a dramatic sigh. “If you tell Dom, I’ll kill you before he gets a chance to kill me.”

“I know I’ve told you many times before but you’re a genius” she grinned and lifted her own glass to her lips “I wish I got to travel to places like this with my dad, he’d love it here but work stops him from holidays more often than not” she sighed. Shaking off the thought of her dad missing out, Indie picked up the menu and scanned the contents “I don’t know. Do you have any recommendations?”

“I know but it’s always good to boost my ego!” Nate grinned as if his ego even needed more boost. “Oh I absolutely know what you mean. I barely saw my parents before the twins were born, they were basically living at St. Mungo’s,” he mused and took a look at the menu. “Why don’t we pick four kinds and get two half/half pizzas?”

“you certainly aren’t the best thing that’s ever happened to me. In fact it’s one of the worst” 

“I’m pretty sure there must be something way worse than me, Ivy.”

Darcy leaned against him as they walked. “Don’t put this on me. Is that any way to woo a girl?” She teased with a grin. “I’ve been good but clearly I’m better now. I thought I’d scared you off.”

“I’ve never tried to woo a girl that I like,” Nate blurted out and immediately went silent and took a sip of his coffee, waiting for her reaction. “Yeah I’ve been busy with work and then I needed time to think.”

damn-darcy:

“Hi.” She echoed with a small laugh. When he began to talk about the weather, her laughter only grew. Darcy placed a hand on his shoulder as her laughter subsided. “I’m free but damn are you not the most awkward person I’ve talked to today.” She bit her lip. “It’s kind of adorable.”

Nate groaned at Darcy’s words and just wrapped her arm around her waist, leading her out of the coffee shop. “It’s all your fault, I’m turning into a rambling idiot around,” he mumbled and sighed as they walked towards the park. “So, how have you been, Darce?”

“You sound so sure.” He mused, running a hand through Nate’s hair. “Let’s get drunk and see what happens. Someone told me you turn into a complete idiot around none other than little Darcy Dolohov-Greengrass.”

“Fake it, ‘till you make it,” he shrugged his shoulders and grabbed the bottle, swatting lightly at Rand’s hand. “If we’re not fucking, no touching my hair.” He groaned when Rand brought up Darcy, already wondering who to kill for their lack of discretion. “It’s nice of you to assume that I’m not an idiot on a daily basis, maybe I should just be dating you instead,” he mumbled and took a swig from the bottle. “Who told you?”

Nate: hi, Mercie

Nate: is everything okay with Hen?

Nate: he's not showing up at work, he's not showing up at quidditch practices and he's not picking up his phone

Nate: what's up?

“Since I fucked mine beyond fixing.” He mused, looking the other over before running his hands through Nate’s hair. “I know you’re joking but I’m not even sure I want to do this anymore.”

“Nothing is beyond fixing,” he hummed and tilted his head to the side. “Oh? Too much?” he chuckled. “We can get drunk instead and fuck each other’s brains out and never talk about it again, sounds better? Or we don’t have to do anything, it’s your choice.”

Tavi: then quit being such a baby and ask the girl out

Tavi: worst she could do is say no

Nate: but what if she does and then things get awkward?

“Oh, Ivy, Ivy, Ivy. Will you ever stop pretending I’m not the best thing that’s ever happened to you?”

damn-darcy:

“Yeah.” She said with a nod, cocking a brow as he began to sway. Something was up and it sort of bothered her. Where was the Nate she knew? Was she so repulsive he wanted her to leave? When he high-fived her, she was certain she just cemented her position as a friend. With a frown, she watched as he ran off.

Over the next few days, she didn’t have much luck trying to contact him. She’d ultimately given up and gone about her day. After ordering her coffee, she heard an all too familiar voice. “Erm… yeah. I mean… we’re at a coffee shop but sure. Small world.” She paused. “Guess I should say, Hey Stranger.”

“Hi.” Nate hated himself for how awkward he was right now but that’s just the effect Darcy had on him. He couldn’t even think straight whenever he was around her. “It’s such a beautiful weather today, how about we take a walk and talk? Unless you have no time? We can meet up sometime else?” he proposed, hoping she’d say yes because then maybe he’d finally start thinking and stop being a dumbass.

“It’s not the same when the feelings aren’t there.” He replied softly. Randolph leaned into the other’s kisses. “I won’t deny anything. What do you want it to be like?”

“Since when you are a feelings expert, huh?” he asked and rose his brow. “Oh I don’t know, I was thinking something along the lines of sweet love making where you whisper sweet nothings into my ear and I  blush and giggle all the time and then we cuddle and kiss for the rest of the evening,” he mused with an eye roll.

“i hope my coffee is poison and this pain will end quickly” 

“since when do you hate my presence so much, my sweetest ivy?”

damn-darcy:

She cocked a brow as he looked at her. She’d never seen the look on his face before and it excited her in a way that she hadn’t felt in a long time. When Nate stayed silent, she couldn’t help but let out a laugh. Her laughter grew at his eventual statement. Darcy reached up to run a hand through his hair. “That sounds nice. I like ice cream.” She sounded just as lame as he did and it bothered her. Why did she let him have such a hold over her?

“Nice, cool,” he clicked his tongue as he stood there, swaying on his feet awkwardly. Why was he awkward? What did she do to him? Now all he wanted was to run away and hide and never ever come out and that’s what he did. After he made a weak excuse about Mercer needing his help with his cats he just high-fived Darcy and fleed the scene as quickly as humanly possible and around the corner, he apparated the fuck away.

And after few days of moping and whining and annoying everyone with his parents and dead patients included, he was still not ready to face Darcy but there she was, standing in the line for coffee few people in front of him and Nate’s first thought was run but then he decided he needed to stop being a coward and talk to her. After all, he did not want to go through the pain Octavia went through and if he didn’t do anything she’d definitely find someone else. Someone better. “Oh, you’re getting coffee too? What a small world!” he chirped like the idiot he is. Of course she’s getting coffee, they’re in a coffee shop for god’s sake.

Tavi: no, I cannot do it.

Tavi: I'm really not

Tavi: it took me having a breakdown over Dom dating Albus for us to get together

Tavi: absolutely

Tavi: but not forever

Nate: does it mean i need to wait until she starts dating someone else??????

Nate: don't want that

Nate: he will murder me with cold blood and then he'll bring me back to kill me again

Nate: make sure everyone cries at my funeral
