Week 10 – Create and edit an audio piece entitled ‘My Sporting Dream’ (minimum three minutes)
Podcast available on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-581450282/sporting-dream-podcast/s-dRfto
The technical skills I gained in making a podcast entitled my sporting dreaming was really making and editing a podcast for the first time. So, working together with Tim putting music into the podcast and editing the bits that you don’t like. Really taught me how to make a podcast and how easy it is to create which we can then use in the future for future career paths. It even gave us practice for when we have to make a podcast for our VAFA clubs.
The purpose of podcast can serve in the sporting organisation from a business performance perspective. Is that it can achieve so much financial benefit and create that engagement between fans and the sponsors. Cause as seen in podcasts there are a lot of ads involved with increase revenue and customer engagement (Rubashaw T, 2016). But what most fans tend to remember with podcasts is not so much the content, but the ads involved (Rubashaw T, 2016). Which is a great thing because it shows fans are interested and engaged in the podcast (Rubashaw T, 2016).
Another benefit podcast has for the fan experience is that most sporting organizations have their own podcasts that fans can watch every week. So, it keeps them inclined with the latest podcast that fans can listen to their favourite athletes (Qutub A, 2017). Fans consume these podcasts a lot these days as it gives so much insight into fans for what players do while there not training (Qutub A, 2017). It increases that team sprit between fans and athletes, it improves fan interaction, but also keep fans hooked to the club and keeps them engaged (Qutub A, 2017).

Week 8 – Film and edit a video entitled ‘Your Most Heartbreaking Moment in Sport’ (minimum three minutes)
Group video with Aaron, Tim, Nathan about Collingwood: Can be viewed on youtube https://youtu.be/I5d7xbSxEwc
The technical skills I gained from working together with Tim and Aaron to create a heart-breaking moment in sport was really combining as a group of three and coming up with an idea we could all relate to. Next was really getting that script right and making sure we tick all the boxes of a video. With having music and themes, then editing to make our voices sound like a voice over and telling the story. While doing that I learnt how to edit music over the top of voices and really getting the editing right as a group.
The purpose that videos can serve to a sporting organisation. Is that it can drive so much different business performance perspective it can drive your memberships; it can create content for members to engage in (Chiaruáin A, 2017). With videos as well sporting organizations can smash out new content each week to their members about the club or new information about sponsors (Chiaruáin A, 2017). Live sport means a lot of brand exposure which is what videos can do for sporting organisations and boost their sales in the marketing industry (Chiaruáin A, 2017).
The way in which videos add to the fan experience of consuming the sport is much more variety. As there is so much video content at any sporting organisations because every sporting organisation is creating content for there fans. Because as soon as you lure one fan another one is going to join. Because fans come together to support their club (Harris J,2017). Despite video content having new challenges because there is so much competitors (Harris J,2017). The industry still offers plenty of opportunities to propel your brand, to expose your club to attract new fans and create new ideas to improve the video content (Harris J,2017).

Week 7 – Create a highlight package of ten sporting highlights from 2018 (minimum five minutes)
https://youtu.be/8Q_eg5QbzJk
What I have learnt from creating a highlight package of ten sporting highlights from 2018. Firstly, it’s changing to fit all of the events of 2018 as it was a fabulous year of sport with Collingwood in the grand final and the FIFA world cup in Russia. What I learnt was how to edit videos to make them shorter, how to put your own music into videos, lastly how to edit and cut things out in videos on Adobe Premiere.
The purpose that the emerging media type might serve to a sporting organisation from a business performance perspective. one thing is for sure the sporting organisation can sell off there highlight videos to people to watch and generate a profit like the teams do in the USA (Pritchard M, Stinson J, 2013). What else could happen is they could leverage the fans into watching the video and keep them connected to the team, so they become a member during the year (Pritchard M, Stinson J, 2013).
The way in which the emerging media of highlight videos does for the fan experience of consuming the sport. Are they can always watch the shorter version of the game if they don’t have enough time to watch the full game (Boren C, Maese R, 2015)? Other way fans can leverage from it is that it can create awareness to others about the video and potential grow on social media and come a real highlight reel for the ages (Boren C, Maese R, 2015).

Week 5 – Produce your own animated GIF using Photoshop (featuring at least two interactive elements)
Paulo Dybala GIF: https://gph.is/g/469AxG9
GIF is becoming part of the ever-changing social media trend when young adults create this smart funky GIF that manages to trend all over social media. With it easy to create and make on photoshop it’s no wonder sports fans are creating them and make them trend (Danjou A,2018). What I learnt from creating my own GIF using a soccer celebration that I see online a lot Paulo Dybala celebration and thought I would attempt to pull it off. As Hugh showed us how to create GIF’s was the one thing that there easy to create, fun to make. Which shows just why people on social media are always using them. Though the technical skills I gained from this was how to use the basics of photoshop which is something I never knew how to use. Like cut, crop, contrast, cut things out and move things around with the magic wand.
The purpose of these GIF’S is serving to emerging media for sporting organisations from a business performance perspective is that its changing the ways people communicate to each other as some choose to use GIFs (Danjou A,2018). The business performance perspective that GIF’s change is the branding of the clubs image and growing their fans base around the world and globalising by connecting the clubs branding to GIF’s (Danjou A,2018).
The way in which the emerging media of GIF’s adds to the fan experience of consuming the sport. Is that it connects fans together online (McGregor M, 2016). With clubs putting more money into the creation of GIF’s. GIF’s helps clubs create a little mini highlight of what just happened or a reaction of movement that gets to show fans what they missed (McGregor M, 2016). So how GIFs add to the fan experience of consuming the sport is it shows highlights of little things that happened during the sport event or celebration that fans missed (McGregor M, 2016).

Week 3 – Produce an interactive article (with embedded images, audio and video) about your favourite sporting organisation / athlete / team (minimum length 250 words)
Cristiano Ronaldo interactive article link: https://nathansblog.sport.blog/2019/05/30/cristano-ronaldo-story-so-far/
Using word press as a sport business student studying emerging media and having to create a interactive article was quite a fun experience I would say one where I learnt how to embed images into a article, upload and download audio into an article, lastly download videos and putting into an article and really tying audio, images and videos into one article. Something that I have never done or thought of doing ever.
But the way my article has come out has really impressed me and opened my eyes into my design and creativity around blogs and interactive articles in general. As you seem them become more useful for sporting organisations around the world. As they all tend to use interactive articles. How blogs and interactive articles help the sporting organisation on a business performance perspective is they create key messages and promote awareness to the fans (Harris N, 2018). It creates new content for clubs to promote to fans (Qutub A, 2017). It helps market the clubs news or offers for them to create new connections. It helps clubs communicate to there stakeholders about new information or new ideas around the club. Which helps increase their sales or membership revenue by creating that bond online with their fans.
How sport blogs and interactive articles add to the sport consuming wise of things is that it opens new ways for fans to interact with each other. Widely across the world we are seeing more blogs been created for sporting clubs (Harris N, 2018). It adds to the fan experience of the sport as right after a game of footy these days fans are creating a new blog piece with pictures from the game, videos and even interviews after the game (Qutub A, 2017).

Week 2 – Produce a tribute website to your favourite sporting organisation/athlete team
Manchester United top 5 comebacks
Link: https://nathansblog.sport.blog/
The skills that I gained from producing a website was amazing to start off the class of emerging media production. As we got to learn how to design our own website, what needs to be included and what important information you would put on a website. As for technical skill that I gained was mainly a design skill on how to format a website and what you would need to include to make it appealing and interesting to your audience.
The purpose the website for emerging media might serve to a sporting organisation from a business performance perspective. is that it can reach a hell of a lot of people. Especially the ones that aren’t from the clubs country or start (Henry L, 2019). It helps them to promote and market the club off to fans. Other reason could be is to sell their merchandise which improves their business performance perspective of sales and new customers even by having links for memberships and merchandise for fans.
Websites and blogs can accomplish so much for sporting organisations. It can help the team and fans stay updated with the upcoming events, attract new players to the organisation, make it easy for them to contact fans, help fans stay in touch on the latest news or merchandise or ticket offers (View A, 2016). Overall that helps the fan experience of consuming the sport as they wouldn’t miss a moment of what is happening at their club (View A, 2016). As they will always be notified on the clubs website.
