"That'd be fun. You should do it. I need to do that myself and visit my family in New Jersey. It's been a while since I've brought Taylor out there." He said before nodding. "We're good. Great, really. Margaret is at the studio and Taylor is ready for summer. We haven't set up definitive plans yet, but we'll probably do something. It'll be good for us to get away." @natalie-makan
Natalie shook his hand happily before settling back into her seat. "Nothing to complain about, to be certain. Excited about the projects we have in the works, thinking about maybe take some time off this summer to go visit some extended family out in California." The attorney noted with a smile. "How about you? Margaret and the family all doing well? Any summer plans for Taylor?" She asked genially

He nodded. "Nothing wrong with that if you're happy about it." He told him with a smile. He understood how it was and the younger man looked like he was in a good place so Nate assumed it was good. "They do." He put the menu aside. "I think that's what I'm getting today. How about you? Again, you can get anything you want. Doesn't matter if it's the most expensive thing." @riverxjackson
River laughed, "For sure, and I got a good knock to get my here today." his father coming to town a few years ago really got him going. Even know it did suck at the time it was what was best for River. "But I am glad I am here today," he said, " and glad the town has such great places and support for the people who need help. "Right. It's so nice, so many great places, and this place has killer burgers," he smiled. @nathanielxlevy

Nate was sitting on bench watching Taylor and her friends play while he enjoyed the evening. The weather was so much nicer than it had been and he was glad to be out of the office and enjoying some time with his daughter. The kids were playing soccer and with a good kick, the ball headed past him and towards someone walking. Nate got up quickly and kicked the ball back towards the kids. "Good kick, but keep it in the zone." He called out and looked at the woman. "You alright?"

His hands settled on her waist and he smiled down at her happily. "I'm glad you can fit me in." He rubbed her waist softly and nodded. "Oh, I can agree to being hands on." Nate pulled her closer and brushed his nose against her now. "I like the lesson plan, Mrs. Hawthorne-Levy. And I'll definitely do this extra credit work. I'll be your star student." He leaned in a little more and kissed her softly. @margaretxhawthornelevy
Laughter bubbled over her lips and she looked up at her husband. "Well, Mr. Levy," she said, looping her arms around his neck, "I think I can make room in my schedule for one eager student," she leaned in, pressing up on her toes to brush her nose against his own. "Though I should warn you, my private lessons come with a very strict hands on policy." Margaret grinned at him, "We can start slow, walking through step-by-step. And if you're good," she raised a brow, "maybe there will be some extra credit work." @nathanielxlevy

"It's really been too long." Nathaniel smiled at Natalie as he stuck out his hand for her to shake. Both were legal counsels for companies the Hawthorne family ran and while he was part of that family, he didn't have is toes in anything like they did. He did like to meet up with Natalie, though, from time to time to make sure things were good over at Hawthorne Brothers & Co. and give any reports on HCP that may bleed over. "How are you doing?" He asked as he sat down. @nathanielxlevy

Location: Rustica Steakhouse
Although HCP Holdings and Hawthorne Brothers and Co. were two fully separate business entities, Julian and Simon having at least some involvement with both necessitated some amount of cohesion and coordination between the two companies. While assistants and administrative support could facilitate and accomplish most of that, there was also importance to broader picture and more high-level cooperation. As the two legal counsels, Natalie and Nathaniel had developed a system of meeting about once a month, sometimes more, sometimes less depending on the circumstances, just to ensure everyone was operating on the same page. Of course, doing so over a meal and a drink was far more enjoyable than sitting in a stuffy conference room. The pair of attorneys took turns picking a different spot in Kismet each time and they rotated through the local food scene over time. Having a hankering for steak, Natalie had made a reservation at Rustica. Arriving a bit early, the raven-haired woman was already seated and perusing a menu when her counterpart arrived. Placing the menu back on the table, Natalie rose to greet him with a smile. "Long time no see."

"That it is." Nate agreed before nodding again. "Yeah. I've been here about..." He took a moment to think just how long it had been. "Sixteen years now. Jesus." He chuckled a little bit as he realized it had really been that long now. "Sometimes it feels like longer, but also not that long, you know?" He chuckled as he talked to his colleague. He hadn't been able to talk to him like this yet so it was nice to do so. "How are you liking it so far?" @jasonxamato
"Yeah, same," he said with a nod of his head. "Getting away from the grind of work is important." Jason thrived in the outdoors, which was funny for a man with a very corporate job. "You been in Kismet long or?" He questioned, knowing him from his job at HCP Holding. However, Jason had not had the opportunity to get to know many of his colleagues on a personal level in the last year. @nathanielxlevy

The man nodded. He wasn't about to pry on what the younger man was going to say. He knew how things were private and even if you changed your mind on saying some midsentence, it wasn't anyone's business what was going to be said. Most of the time, at least. "Sometimes it takes a good knock on the ass to do that, but I'm glad you got sober." He smiled at the man before nodding again. "A great place. This town is definitely something." @riverxjackson
He nodded with a smile, he didn't know his uncles, and he found more than them after being here a while now. He was hoping that, now that he felt more settled, things would start to settle more for him, and he would start to really find someone to be with now. "Hard as ever at first but I got... knocked on my ass when my ... someone came to down and I helped me get sober after" after he never did to much one night but that was what changed him and got him into rehab. "Right, such a good place to go, and work, I know they do a lot to help everyone in town too." It was good all around. "I just like being here in town, that's so... nice" over the places he had been before. @nathanielxlevy

"I definitely can." He said as he smiled down at his wife. Seeing her like this made him happier then he had been in a long time and he was glad she went through and did this. "So, where do we start, Mrs. Hawthorne-Levy?" He rubbed her sides softly. "I want to learn it all from you, if you don't mind a few private lessons." Nate wiggled his eyebrows at Margaret. @margaretxhawthornelevy
"Of course you are," she teased as he said that he were the luckiest man on the Earth. When something was not right in her world, Nate was the reason that she remained grounded. All the years they had been together were years that she cherished more than anything. "I think I can handle a few sore muscles if you can," she teased him, curling her fingers just slightly beneath his on his chest. @nathanielxlevy

Nate shook his head. “No need to explain. I understand that.” He had found family in Kismet Harbor, too, along with the love of his life and now their beautiful daughter. The place was home and it was clear the younger man was feeling so too. “I can’t imagine it’d be easy. If it was, everyone would do it, right?” He said and smiled at River. “That doesn’t surprise me one bit. The whole place is sorta supportive that way.” And he was talking about the town. It always seemed like a real community here and it was something Nate loved about the place. @riverxjackson
He nodded with a smile, "Pretty long story, but I found family here and just more than I ever thought I would..." he hated his past and the lies he was told, but he was happy now. He smiled over at Nate and nodded, "Thanks, it's not always easy still, but it's been good for me." he needed it; he needed to stay sober for his own good. "The food here has always been good, so I give him props," he nodded with a smile as he looked over the menu. "The owner is nice too, he let me order takeout a lot before I felt like I could come inside," he smiled. @nathanielxlevy

He laughed a little bit and nodded. “It’s the opposite of vampires. Whatever that is.” He shrugged, but even he felt like it. Heknew he was out more now that the weather was nicer and warming up. He was out running again and playing in the yard with Taylor. Warmer months were always his favorite. “You and me both.” Nate told him before shaking his head. “Not in that sense, I guess. I just came down to enjoy everything about the place so I guess Spring is part of it. How about you?” @jasonxamato
Jason took another sip of his drink before nodding in agreement, "Yeah, first time some people are seein' the sunlight." Even if they were indoors, but the sun tended to make people venture out in the first place. It motivated him much more significantly, but Oregon didn't differ much from winters in New York, dreary. The biggest difference was the lack of snow. "Gives the place a little more life, so I don't mind it." He told him, "You come here a lot or just taking advantage of the spring like the rest of them?" @nathanielxlevy

He chuckled and shook his head. He could imagine that. Sometimes, this town made him miss New York, but he couldn’t imagine being anywhere else now with his family. “Oh, no. They definitely know they’re in charge. Especially Taylor.” Taylor knew she could easily persuade her dad. It was hard for her not to. All she had to do was bat her eyelashes and he was a goner. As Julian started jogging again, Nate followed suit and kept up with him. “What fun is that? You have a farm, you might as well do the work.” @julianxhawthorne

"Makes me miss Melbourne." He muttered, not at all that surprised. Even in Melbourne they would be held underneath a magnifying glass, but it was easier to blend in and remain out of view. In Kismet everyone knew everyone else's secrets. Still, he wasn't keeping it silent for judgement or scrutiny. No one knew just how much Beyza had helped him in the past, helped him grow and process. A house was nothing to make up for that. "Hey, if you're lucky, they let you think you're in charge. That's true love, ain't it?" Julian started moving again, though opting for a walking pace to warm up before starting a jog again. He was sure Nate wouldn't mind. "So old-fashioned. You know they have machinery for that these days, right?" @nathanielxlevy

He grinned at the ladies as they left the class and then his attention was fully on his wife. “It is.” Nate nodded and smiled down at her. This is where he knew Margaret belonged. The smile she had, the air that was just coming from her… it was all exactly where she should be and it made him happy she was achieving that. “I’m the luckiest man on earth then.” He smirked before placing a hand over hers as it rested on his chest. “I’m willing to put in all the work. There’s a few sore muscles I could give you too.” He winked at her. @margaretxhawthornelevy
Margaret caught the movement out of the corner of her eye just as the music faded to a close. She turned to see Nate standing there with that all too familiar grin on his face. "We will practice this more next week during class," her voice was commanding but kind as she politely dismissed the class and made her way over to her husband. "Oh, is that right?" She teased, still barefoot and glowing from the energy of the class. "Well, you happen to be in luck because I am an excellent teacher." She grinned at him, lifting her hand to rest it on his chest. "It might take a lot of practice and maybe a few sore muscles you forgot you had." @nathanielxlevy

Nate nodded and smiled at the younger man. “Good. Glad you found that place, then.” For a while after he first arrived, he had been curious if Kismet Harbor was going to be the place for him. He had missed home and he hated being away from his parents and his siblings like that. It turned out, it was just the place for him. It’s where he met his wife and where they had their daughter. It was his home. Sitting at a booth, Nate slid into the seat and smiled at River. “That’s amazing. Good for you.” He nodded as he grabbed a menu. “It is. I’ve had the chef here cater a few parties before. He’s a talented guy.” @riverxjackson
River smiled "It's nice, it's a place I need, really." Every other place he had been had been trouble for him, really, so he knew Kismet was good for him. He nodded with a smile, glad to hear that. He knew some people did want to go to the bar and have a drink no matter what. As they headed towards a booth to sit at, he smiled. "Getting close to two years.... it will be on July 12th." he smiled. He was happy he was getting there. "But the food here is always so good" he smiled as he looked over the menu. @nathanielxlevy

Nate hated having the house to himself. As someone who came from a big family, he liked the noise and liveliness of a home. So when his wife was gone and Taylor at a friend’s, he tried to avoid being home as much as he could. As he got word that Margaret was going to be late, he decided to go to the gym for a little bit, but once he was finished, he decided to go to the dance studio and surprise her. He snuck into the class as it was about to end and he stood back for a moment just to watch her. He could clearly see how happy this made her and in turn, it made him happy. This was where she should be and he knew that. If only her father could see that. After a moment, he approached and cleared his throat. “Excuse me, but I need help with that move you just did. I can’t seem to get my legs to do that.” He grinned down at her. @margaretxhawthornelevy
starter for @nathanielxlevy
location: graceful moves ballet studio
Margaret had yet to pull herself away entirely from HCP Holdings. The family company clung to her like cigarette smoke. She desperately wanted to walk away from it, but it never fully left her. So, in the meantime, she was instructing local dance classes after hours. Taylor was at her horseback riding lessons and was going home with a friend for the weekend and Margaret was teaching at the studio. She had texted Nate that she'd be home late, but never expected him to wait up for her. Tonight, she was teaching a group of adults. It was a beginners class. She hadn't even heard the door open as the class was wrapping up. Instead, she had been focused on teaching one of the newer members of the class. Margaret stood with her, practicing the steps as if they were second nature, a grin touching ear to ear.

Nate liked Mad Monk. The atmosphere in there was something that always reminded him of his university days and the drinks were always good so it was a frequented place for him when he wasn’t either at home or at work. He had been sitting at the bar and chatted up the bartender for a bit before the younger man went to help other customers and he sipped on his drink when someone made a comment about it being busy. Looking around, he noticed that it was fuller tonight and he looked back at the man. “I guess it is. You can definitely tell when spring hits when the people start coming out.” @jasonxamato
starter for anyone (cap at 2)
location: mad monk brewing
The low hum of conversation filled the space of Mad Monk Brewing. Jason had recognized a few people, local to the area and a few people that he assumed were people from out of town. He knew he'd made the right decision heading to the brewery as it were type of place that it could be easy to lose track of time. Jason sat at the bar, one hand wrapped around a pint of a dark beer that was smooth to drink. His other hand idly spun a coaster between his fingers. It wasn't his first drink of the night, but he wasn't here to get drink. Really, he was just looking to settle into the background noise, letting the weight of the day roll off his shoulders. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he glanced around the room, "Busy for a weeknight," he spoke, mostly to himself, though he wouldn't mind if someone answered.
