My response the content we viewed in class is the significance of how taste and style has changed over time. For example in music, music today is vastly different from how it used to be. This doesn’t make it better or worse but displays how tastes change over time as if music remained the same forever it would become stale and boring. Furthermore just because someone enjoyed the old music it doesn’t mean they won’t like the new stuff. Old music also doesn’t just disappear it still able to be listened to and enjoyed it’s just not as popular as it once was. #bellisiofys24

My response to the “Memory in Young Adults” podcast is that we need to take better care of our mental health. The idea of losing memories is a scary thought as they are our identity every lesson, experience and idea we have makes us who we are. Furthermore the effects of overstimulation need to be further available as it such an issue that affects many people. For myself I will try to achieve a healthier mental health by cutting back on this stimulation. #bellisiofys24

My response to “athletes need to talk about mental health” is that a push for a better solution is necessary. Mental health struggles are often not visible making them hard to identify when others are struggling. Because of this a further push to check in on one another is necessary as on top of being hard to identify most people don’t like discussing their mental health. As a society we are moving in the right direction in lessening the effects of negative mental health however the remains an on going battle as there is no 100% effective solution. As individuals we have to understand that help is available and there is no stigma in needing help. #bellisiofys24

After watching the “spent” video I was reminded of how much the issue of poverty is, not only in the United States but worldwide. Although aware of the issue it is not something I continually think about. The issue is severe and there is no easy fix solution making it a deep rooted issue. I was unaware how many resources are used to combat this issue and how much time and effort is spent aswell. I initially thought I had a good understanding of the topic but it is appearing I need to do more research on the topic. #bellisiofys24

After listening to the 3 songs what stood out to me was the timeline of how music and styles change. Earlier music was more simple and followed a strict pattern and seemed more formal. However as music evolved less and less formality was pushed upon it making creators have more freedom to express themselves and be creative. Along with technology being used to add more distinct features it is no wonder why the music we listen to today is so much different and why are styles have changed. #bellisiofys24

My initial response to the Grimace meme was confusion. Although understanding the concept I need more information regarding the context/origin of the meme. Besides the initial shock I did find all the videos funny and enjoyable as although the concept remains the same each creator is able to put their own unique spin on their version. Lastly I would be interested to know how the McDonalds brand felt about the trend as it did give the seasonal drink a lot of publicity it may be considered bad publicity. #bellisiofys24

After listening to and watching the “Made of Meat” podcast my initial reaction was confusion. The podcast was different to any other I had heard before as it was a conversation between aliens describing humans the main theme being how they are confused on the fact we are “made of meat”. The difference between the podcast with no visuals and the video made a big impact as you are better able to infer and get a better understanding of the idea as it’s both visual and auditory. #bellisiofys24

The Economics of Pizza Boxes podcast reminds me of when I was younger and used to collect sports cards. When I was younger would beg my parents to buy me hockey, baseball and basketball cards so I could bring them to school where me and my friends would show each other our collections. #bellisiofys24
