My one post about the Lilo and Stitch remake, because after what I've read about it, I'd rather not give it anymore attention.

The original Lilo and Stitch film was the least Hollywood Disney movie in quite awhile, and that was on purpose.

The entire reason why Lilo and Stitch was made was because Chris Sanders noticed that in every Disney film made at the time, they needed to think of new ways to defeat the villain. Chris decided to ask "Do we have to kill the villain, what if the villain was redeemed?”

This is why Stitch's character origin was that he's most evil destructive experiment ever created for the specific purpose of being evil. Chris Sanders wanted to show with the right amount of love anyone can be redeemed. This is why no one in the film is straight up evil, the characters working against the protagonists are just doing their jobs. It just so happens that Gantu took things way too far.

 Lilo and Stitch feels the most real out of all the Disney animated films to me (outside of the aliens with laser blasters). The dialogue feels real, the reactions from the characters feel real, Lilo might be the most realistic depiction of a 4-year-old I’ve seen in any animated feature.

The more I hear about the live-action remake, the more it feels like the exact opposite of what Lilo and Stitch was meant to be.

the camp lazlo pilot is lost so i wanted to compile as much information as i could and see if i can piece together any pieces? so here’s all that i know

produced in 2004

originally called Monkey See, Camping Doo

basically the same plot as Gone Fishin’ (Sort Of), lumpus can’t catch a fish so the jelly beans try to catch one and chaos ensues

lumpus’ name was leonard instead of algonquin

the wiki says he was a horse in the pilot but in the above storyboards from the pilot he is definitely a moose so it’s safe to assume they made the moose switch during the pilot

he spoke in a don knotts voice allegedly instead of the w.c fields/richard nixon combination, or at least it can be assumed his voice was deeper (similar to how his voice was deeper in the first half of s1 roughly)

lazlo had a brazilian accent and raj had an americanized accent, but spoke with a spitty voice thanks to his overbite and apparently it warranted subtitles?

clam was mute

chip and skip were named “dave and dale”

apparently chef mcmeuseli was the camp deacon and in the episode the boys sought out nurse leslie’s advice for catching a fish

camp kidney was originally called camp runnyrump

obviously i can’t attest to every one of these facts, i feel the majority are true but a few are warranting some suspicion for me personally (raj needing subtitles and chip and skip’s name change but who knows)

if i find more information or if the pilot ever gets released ill definitely update this!

some days you cannot help but pity some people

I work retail, and have for many years now. I'm not an easily fazed person and have a Talk No Shit, Take No Shit mentality. However, I also have a pretty intense anxiety disorder on top of other mental health issues and when I started 6+ years ago there were some customers who got to me.

So, to all the workers facing Karens and Kens out in the wild, here's my advice - cry.

If you have the type of relationships with your coworkers and managers that will support you, don't try to hold it in. Cry like the overworked, underpaid peon you are.

Nothing terrifies an asshole Karen like the indisputable proof that their actions/words are affecting you as a real live person. They feel perfectly entitled to cuss out a cashier over a wrong order/no cash policy/ face mask mandate but when that person starts to cry and asks them why they'd say such mean things? A whole other story, my friend.

There's no way to make that situation look good to the manager they demanded to speak with, either. My manager literally got a security guard fired for being so verbally abusive he made one of her employees cry.

This strategy has multiple benefits -

1. You're not standing there trying to pen up your emotions, crying is a great physical release for negative emotions and you may very well feel somewhat better afterwards.

2. The person who precipitated the situation is forced to not only see you as a person with feelings, but also has to confront the fact that their abuse has consequences beyond themselves.

3. It can actually give your higher-ups leverage to address these situations. 'They yelled at my employee' is one thing, but 'They yelled at my employee until they were in tears' is a waaaaay worse offense. A good manager can use that. Hell, it can get a security guard fired!

tl;dr: We live in a capitalist hell but we can work the system and cry at work to shame awful customers

Fahed (@/fahed-2) & Reem (@/reem-reem-0), fled south together with their children & their children's grandmother. Fahed's sister's family of 5 fled south as well, and the 13 of them remained together. But after 14 months of surviving hell as a unit (and nearly reaching their campaign goal) the family is now facing one of the worse decisions imaginable: who will be able to evacuate Gaza and who will be forced to stay behind.

There may be an opportunity for evacuation soon, but they're bracing for separation, with Fahed staying behind with his sister and her family. It's hard enough reunifying in Gaza, but with the border with Egypt between them, there's no telling when (or if) they'll ever see each other again. It shouldn't be a choice this family has to make: who survives, who may not. Their kids shouldn't be forcibly separated from their dad, nor Reem from her husband.

Fahed & Reem are some of the kindest, gentlest people ever, and their kids are dazzling, just absolute sweethearts. They've all lost so much and experienced too much, and somehow, kept finding a way to endure.

But right now, they might lose each other, so please: pitch in what you can, help the Shehabs stay together 🙏

Today we took our little brother to the hospital because he suffers from an infection that affects his breathing and causes him pain. I hope that every living conscience will help us save our young son’s life and donate any amount you can.
