Because i was thinking that it can heavily depends on how old Ange was, and what ending she picked.
For me, I think she would choose bulbasaur as a kid, specialising in spec atk/def seems very much like something Kyrie would teach her to value, the "brains" over raw power. I think she's really curious and generally not very easily frightened but also careful and deliberate, so she'd pick Bulbasaur.
And i also really like the idea of post umineko Ange, well, Yukari having venusaur that's grown and became more powerful but still has it's leafy heart. something poetic about it to me. Like it's not her metaphorical defense or attack that's grown, but her "speciality" - magic, her worldview changed.

otoh the silver ring being horrific for one character doesn't mean its usage has to be universally horrific. it's scary that lion has a silver ring not necessarily because the silver ring is by itself evil, but because like an hour of game ago they said "hey this ring is for the wife and only the wife"
idk i keep going back and forth on this lol. what a bizarre scene that wedding is. if it just kind of does chafe against a lot of established metaphor up to this point then so be it, but i think i just resist that answer because it feels like giving up on trying to pick it apart. which is why i kind of feel like i end up landing on "i think i get what tohya wanted to do here it's just that what tohya wanted kind of sucks as an ending to This particular story"

I know there's lots of jokes about Ange's brother complex but TBH I think her obsession with her brother specifically--even over her own parents--as shes investigating the Ushiromiya deaths makes sense from a non-brocon persoective.
In 1998, Ange is 18. Battler died when he was 18. It's a weird feeling, when an older sibling dies and then you reach their age when they died. I think it makes perfect sense why Ange would center her brother at this time in her life--she's grappling with how soon, she is going to be older than her onii-chan. She's about to lose another part of a relationship that's already been torn to shreds.
Of course, I know it's not like she's going to stop considering him her "older brother" and yeah, he's been gone 12 years so it's not like it's sudden--but Ange still had that aspect of "my older brother" to cling on to. Once she turns 18, she's lost the ability to be his "younger" sister. And that's hard to grapple with.
