I just ranted about this OML I’m beyond heated. To see a bunch of men shit on a subversive depiction of a woman in a tattoo. Like god forbid a female subject wasn’t sexualized for once!!! God forbid a queer artist tried to depict the female experience and show raw emotion!!!! Not liking a tattoo is one thing but the way that several times they talked about how it made them want to throw up is so immature and cringe. Like if you cringe at that imagine the experience that women must undergo every day. And even putting that aside… Bobby was pretty much only doing neo trad. They’ve constantly harped on people that do only one thing. They always say that’s not an ink master. Yet they reward Bobby for doing just that. Freddie’s tattoos, like you said, evoked emotion which is the point of art. Bobby’s we’re just “another cool tattoo” and for maybe season one or two sure. That’s enough. But this is season FIFTEEN.

And it’s even more insulting to see how DJ was acting. He prides himself on being unique to the point of having his own style. He did an unconventional back piece and won s14 for creativity and giving them something new. So the fact that he won for that YET campaigned against Freddie… who is like him in that regard… I love DJ a lot. But watching his behavior in the finale was very disheartening. And I think honestly the reason was rigged because apparently Bobby and DJ are friends which adds another layer to it being fucked up.

New Ink Master sucks for many reasons and it sucks that even how people win now sucks.

I just finished watching Ink Master, season 15. I'm, usually, a very happy, accepting person, but how the hell did Bobby win and Freddy lose? Don't get me wrong. Bobby is an amazing artist and he tattooed very well, but Freddy is an exceptional artist. What he accomplished in the time allotted was incredible. His second tattoo created such intense emotion in everyone who saw it. Some of them were totally upset by the image. They didn't just not like it, they hated it. Isn't that what art is supposed to do? Evoke emotion. Create a deep feeling within the observer. Freddy nailed that. His technique was flawless and he created true art. He thought outside the box. He pushed the limits. He took tattooing to a new level. Why did they not reward him for doing that? He should've won. Hands down. Bobby created amazing tattoos, but they were of a more common type. Technically, they excelled, but they did NOT evoke deep emotion and they did NOT push tattooing to a new level. I think an injustice has been committed and I just had to say so. Freddy should've won. There, I said it and I feel better having done so. I hope that he competes again. I love his art. It's brilliant. I want to see what else he creates. Congratulations to Bobby. You are a very talented artist, too.
